Raves: I was beta testing Cinnamon Grocery List for /u/ProfessorOakTree and not only has he been awesome for feedback, he's also made a fantastic app. I'd totally recommend trying it out.
Rants: People are gonna buy the Note 5 and the Edge+. They will say how great they are, and that they're inevitably better than this year's Nexus phones. And in 6 months it'll all be regret and 'why aren't I on 6.1.1?".
Also, there is absolutely no way that /r/Android will be happy with the new Nexus 5. We'll hear all this jerking when it comes out defending it, and soon after a counter-jerk about how other phones are better and why is everyone saying this phone is so great. Or god forbid, it might have the 810! What'll happen then? /r/Android will lose their collective heads.
I can join the Google+ Community, and also the Beta program.
However, when I try the download link (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imdevgary.cinnamon&ah=ZmEQsNRANhW_S3cUxZ1T1gyZXys), I get:

Cinnamon Grocery Shopping List is the one I use. Lots of products by default, multiple lists, recipe bundles and syncing (requires IAP) all with a well-made design.
Try Cinnamon Grocery Shopping List.
I use the bundles feature to group recipe items. You can define the qty and unit of measure on each item in the bundle. It also automatically combines items if they appear in multiple bundles. So if you have one recipe that has 1 lb of ground beef and another that has 2 lbs of ground beef, the app will add 3 lbs of ground beef to your shopping list.
If you are disciplined about maintaining your inventory in the app (called your pantry), it can deselect specific items for which you already have the appropriate amounts in your pantry. So if you have a recipe with 10 ingredients and you already have two of the ingredients on hand, then the app will add only the remaining eight to your shopping list.
You can also easily swipe entries from your pantry into your shopping list. You can create an in app account that allows you to sync to multiple devices. It's a pretty slick app and I love it. I also liked that the dev launched it in this sub about a year ago.
I would suggest Google Keep, the only problem being the different stores requirement. But I'm sure you can handle that with colours/tags.
Something that doesn't have the stores thing but is recommended a lot here is cinnamon.

On mobile so I hope the links work
I use Cinnamon for grocery list. there's quite a number of categorised products that you can add to your list and you can add your own listings by typing its name or scanning a barcode. once you're in the shop, you just swipe the product you got to add it to a basket, and after some time all entries are automatically moved to the "pantry" list. the pantry shows you everything you've bought as well as when you bought it, and you can swipe the entries to add them back to the shopping list.

edit: since the bot seems to have taken a day off, here it is
I know this isn't specifically what you requested, but for grocery shopping, I like Cinnamon. You could continue to write your groceries on the whiteboard, then enter them in Cinnamon or a shopping app - I would think something custom made for this would be easier than trying to fuss with drawing on an image. I have a Note 4 that makes drawing on images easy, but I wouldn't like shopping that way.
My favorite grocery list app. Light, looks good and a cheap one-time IAP unlike many similar apps now. The dev is still updating his Reddit app but Cinnamon was last updated in early 2017.
Just as struds said, Cinnamon does exactly everything you ask for an has very nice design. You can have multiple lists (I have one right now for our groceries and things for an upcoming camping trip). It also allows you do add recipes with the ingredients so you add them all with one click. It also lets you add the price of items so you know what your bill will be like before you get to the register.

Have you tried Google Keep? It's my go to for general lists.
If you're after a more fully featured alternative for groceries in particular, (Pantry tracking and stuff) then try out Cinnamon. I've used it in the past and really liked it.
Cinnamon Grocery Shopping List allows you to enter prices for items and then calculates the price of your shopping list. The prices are stored so you have to enter them for each item only once.
It's not even a crash. I just got a review that the "keyboard behaves strangely" when adding items and that is the only report I have of it happening. Here is my app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imdevgary.cinnamon

Also, a bunch of you guys expressed interest in helping translate the app. I started a crowd-sourced translation project about a week ago and already have 5 languages fully translated. They should be implemented into the app by Monday, I just need to check for compatibility issues. Anyways, if you would like to help, here are the links. Thanks!

Think this was what you wanted
I don't know if you could use Google Play Store credit for that, but you can subscribe to Google Play Music.
Also, checkout these apps, I've bought:

Some Mediocre games.
nowPaper - don't use it anymore.
Tasker - don't use it anymore.
Smart Tools - don't use it anymore.
As has already been said, do a meal plan. The BBC good food website is great. Find some easy stuff that you want to try cookies and get the stuff for them. That way over a few weeks you'll gradually build up your herbs and stuff and find you're not having to buy those everytime. Personally I wouldn't try stocking up your cupboards with herbs and spices, buy them as you need them for a recipe and gradually the cupboard will fill.
Aldi and Lidl tend to be cheap than the big supermarkets, but don't assume they will be for everything. I tend to do most of my shop in lidl and a few bits in Asda. I also find aldi and lidl less stressful where they're smaller.
Essensils apart form whatever your meal plan creates, bog roll, cheese, breakfast stuff, milk, tea/coffee, stuff for lunches, cleaning spray, washing up stuff, shower stuff.
Make a list. If you have an android phone then cinnamon is a really good shopping list app. An alternative is bring which is available for ios as well.
Cinnamon is a pretty nice grocery list app, definitely worth taking a look at.
I use Cinnamon for shopping lists. It works well on Wear and my phone.
I was pretty happy with Out of Milk until Cinnamon came along. Highly recommend it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imdevgary.cinnamon&hl=en
Which grocery shopping list app would you recommend? I'm looking at Cinnamon, but it hasn't been updated in months.
There is an app that does that.
You might check out Cinnamon. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imdevgary.cinnamon&hl=en
I used Keep with my wife before, but categorization by isle/area of the grocery store is handy. We start at opposite ends of the store and GTFO as fast as possible. Neither of us enjoy the chore of grocery shopping, but this makes it kind of fun. And if not fun, then at least less time consuming.
EDIT: I just realized that I'm an idiot, and your SO has an iPhone, so no Cinnamon. Nevermind. Still, grocery store speed runs are the way to go, however you organize them :)
