I've installed Easy XKCD and set it as the default to open any xkcd links. Works like a charm, has a better interface than the mobile site. I think it might have been made by a redditor. But yeah, it's certainly annoying that the mobile site doesn't turn up anywhere unless you make it.
Awesome!
I have a tip for the xkcd-addicted: download Easy xkcd, enable its offline mode, and then assign xkcd links in Slide to always open externally with it. Result: instant loading of xkcd links, with optional inverted night mode and alt text!
It's amazing!
Alternatively you could switch to the free open source xkcd Android client "Easy xkcd" which displays them flawlessly on it's own:

I use the 'easy xkcd' app on my android phone. You can customise a few things in there, and inverting the color on the comics is one of them.

These two are both very good and each has its strengths. Let me know which you like more.

Blog.
Agreed; Oglaf is amazing, but the site site desperately needs a redesign for mobile.
In the same vein, the XKCD mobile site isn't great, but Easy XKCD makes it a joy to read.
My favorite way to view is the open-source app Easy XKCD(Play Store).
I tend to use an app for viewing XKCD nowadays, but it still loads for me (also using Android Nougat).
Is there an error that comes up when you load the page?
Have you tried loading using mobile data instead of WiFi?
Have you got some adblock or data saver software installed on your phone?

My preference is towards Easy xkcd
Easy xkcd does this, along with material design, notifications, night mode and many more
I like using "Easy xkcd" app.
Linkme: Easy xkcd
Edit: The bot got it wrong, here's the link to the right one: Easy xkcd

I'm guessing the transcriber would get annoying fast
Great idea :)
Would you mind if I implemented this into my open source app Easy xkcd?
I use [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tap.easy_xkcd&hl=en](Easy xkcd). It has offline archives which are perfect for reading on the go.

This one as well
It's also on the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tap.easy_xkcd
The random function from this android app works better.

No it's not my app.
