I've been playing Pokemon Shuffle for the past couple weeks on my phone. I refuse to pay for anything, but some of the levels definitely seem designed to make you pay for something to get through them.
I take it as a challenge and it's been pretty fun. I might write a review about it later or something.
Just in case anyone is curious, the pre-pokemon-go pokemon games on android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=The+Pok%C3%A9mon+Company+International
The Pokemon Company is listed as the publisher on Wikipedia, and I don't see why it would be different from Go.
> Especially since what you posted makes clear that this is a joint venture which includes Nintendo, who has never not published a Pokemon game.
Yes they have. All the Pokemon mobile games are published by the Pokemon Company.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru&hl=en
EDIT: Both the iOS and Android apps are in English as well as Japanese apparently, although you don't really need to know the language for this kind of game. But the Western version isn't available to download yet; a Japanese Google/iTunes account is needed.

TL;DR: Most phones released over the past 5 years should run Shuffle just fine. IIRC, some players have reported graphics issues with the GalaxyS7 but does not render the game unplayable.
Pokémon Company, despite being owned by Nintendo, is weirdly independent of them. They've put out apps on Android and iOS like Pokémon Shuffle with no real Nintendo branding, long before Nintendo announced it's Mobile partnership with DeNA.
I guess you could've looked at the Google Play Store or App Store and it says: "Please visit support.pokemon.com to report issues about Pokémon Shuffle Mobile." But, anyway, that's not always the first thing people do! No worries about it.
However, you haven't really contributed to the discussion here /u/Smokeonthehorizon as it was closed long ago when /u/Jayyyyyyyyyydos got their answer.
Did you look at your own link on wikipedia? (which you honestly shouldn't if you ask me) Or which company appears credited as publisher on each store? Nintendo publish on 3DS and TPC on mobile. Which is exactly what I said. Same for Pokémon Quest and all pokémon mobile games which are on both platforms.

> but to say Nintendo doesn’t play a part in publishing is wrong. They do, more than you know. They own the trademark solely outside of in assuming Japan.
I didn't say anything that they don't. I'm saying they don't do it on mobile.
I encourage you to download the game only from your device trusted source, so the Google Play Store
on Android.
Official Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru
Never trust installers found on the internet, because pretty often they are modded (we support only legit play here) or they hide malicious code, stealing the credentials saved on your phone.
I swear people forget that the entire concept of the game is to augment the experience of walking. That's literally it. If you want something to do when you're sitting, whittle down your collection, read the dex, or play Pokemon Shuffle or Pokemon Duel.
Like dude. Do you sit down to play Civilization V and complain that it's not Street Fighter?
Hey this is what I did (I'm writing in English so others may need this in other countries).
Steps:
Download TunnelBear
Create an account and set USA as country.
Go to the web version of the Play Store with TunnelBear activated: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru&hl=it
Download and Install: now the game is bound to your account so you don't need TunnelBear anymore.
Enjoy :)
What version is your firmware? (You're on a Note 4, so I doubt this is an issue, but it's still worth a shot.)
Also, when you go here and log in with the account on your device, does it say the app isn't available in your country?
I ask because most of the people here who ask this question are actually having an issue with their firmware, not their country (though there have been exceptions - Spain comes to mind).
I had trouble finding it by searching, but it's there! I had to find another official pokemon app (the jukebox) and follow the developer' other apps.
Here's a link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru
Unfortunately it looks like it's going to be microtransaction based.
They already have microtransactions in Pokemon Shuffle: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru&hl=en
Come on now, this is just lazy! It's in the sidebar. It's in the game instructions on Android. It's in the game instructions on iOS. It's given in every other thread about the game where people have deleted their data.
It came to the play store first. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pokemon.poketoru
Here. If your device is not supported it won't appear tho.
Same as Pokemon Shiffle:

You realize this is not Nintendo's first venture into mobile gaming, right?

Here's what I've got installed on my phone right now.
Pokemon Shuffle- played it on my 3DS, it's pretty cool. Puzzle swapping game with Pokemon, lots of events and it's pretty fair with microtransactions.
Angry Birds 2- It's Angry Birds but with random layouts and a better graphical design.
AlphaBear- A neat puzzle game that's a cross between Scrabble and a puzzle game I can't seem to remember the name of, haha.
Chuchu Rocket- It's a mobile port of one of the greatest Dreamcast games ever made. Touch controls makes it even better. (Shamefully, It's not available for sale anywhere that I can see. I'd say just find an APK and install it.)
Crossy Road- Frogger but way, way better. One of the best examples of a free to play game ever.
Dragon Quest 1- A very faithful remake/port of the original Dragon Quest game. Awesome.
Fallout Shelter- Fallout branded base building game. Cool because it's not required to spend any money whatsoever.
Ducktales Remastered- Remake of the original NES game. Pretty great.
Final Fantasy Record Keeper- Free to play game that's basically a nostalgia trip through all the FF games.
Final Fantasy 6- A pretty decent port of the SNES classic. But, it's a little uglier. I got it because it was on sale and I had credit, but if I had my choice I'd probably just emulate the SNES or GBA game.
Forsaken World- A good MMO. Not as fantastic as Order and Chaos, but a solid, full 3D MMO. The endgame has some grindy free to play aspects, but the game's pretty great.
Jetpack Joyride- The best and most classic endless runner games out there. It's also available fully for free on Amazon Underground.
Kung Fury Street Rage- It's One Finger Death Punch reskinned for the movie Kung Fury. Awesome.
LifeLine- An interactive, multipathed novel that sends you notifications in real time. You've got to save an astronaut that's crash-landed on an alien planet.
Little Healer- A bare-bones simulation of healing in WoW. It's pretty goddamn good.
Nanaca Crash- A flash game that's been ported to Android, i was playing this back in 2000. It's one of those "launch a thing and get it as far as you can" games, but this time themed around an anime that's NOWHERE NEAR as popular as this game is.
Pacman 256- An endless runner made by the same people that did Crossy Road, You control Pac-Man through an endless maze, running away from the corruption.
Sonic Runners- Another endless runner, except this one is probably the best Sonic game released in the last... 5 years. Ignore the story. The game's really satisfying to play.
Sproggiwood- This is a roguelike that's also available on Steam. It's a bit pricey but the production values and everything are DEFINITELY worth the price.
VainGlory- A free to play MOBA, like League of Legends, with OUTSTANDING production values.
I made this video, which I'm not 100% happy, but check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UjFF9UWMuM
Its a candy crush clone for Android & iOS, there is a version for the 3DS as well. Its game play is similar to the Pokemon puzzle based game on the DS. It is very bullshitty at times, it will either force you to grind or to buy itmes in the shop to help you.
Yeah, Crash alone would make me buy a PS4.
This is their reply to my support ticket: > Your Pokémon support ticket has been marked as Resolved. > > Hello, > > We've had some reports of crashing on the Nexus 5 with Android 6. > > We do not know the cause, however it seems to be only affecting those on Nexus 5. We have escalated the issue to our development team and hope to have a resolution in a future game update. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimate of how long this will take. If you have any more information for us, please re-open your case. > > Thank you for playing Pokémon! > > Sincerely, > Pokémon Support Team
which is actually just the same copypaste answer they've been giving everyone (as seen in the previous shuffle android thread here and here)
I've noticed the pokemon shuffle google play reviews have had a massive jump in 1 stars, as everyone complains about marshmallow too.
I felt pretty sad about the latest update 'fixing' the facebook heart exploit, but not fixing marshmallow compatibility.
I thought this the first

Where are you? What device are you using?

It must be your device because I can go to the Norwegian Google Play Store and it says my device is compatible.
