I think a lot of Google apps do this. It's so frustrating because you tap on one to zoom in, and instead you get blurry, slanted text that cuts off quickly, and virtually no UI to look at period!
Here is a reference that shows Google saying NOT to use device art in screenshots. And here is a Google app, Maps that violates the rule. I'm not sure which Google apps do the slanty fake screenshot mess, but I swear I came across that yesterday.

Find it hard to imagine that people don't know Google Maps can do this. You're in for a surprise with how good it is. You pretty much don't need a dedicated GPS.

Update: Deinstalled PoGo and tried Google Maps, no changes. GPS still doesn't work how it should. Looked up for the reviews on Maps and many people reporting that since an update the GPS is fucked up.

Can't you press the "install" button and select your watch ?
Or, instead of returning your watch, you could just try to reset it (because AFAIK, maps is installed on the watch by default)
The voice in Google Maps will be the same as in your phone settings. The big downside in Google Maps in Taiwan is that offline maps feature is not available due to licensing issues.
I personally use HERE WeGo - City Navigation
Go to an app page on Google Play, like Maps, and if the app has open beta, you'll see a green "Join beta" button next to "Install".
It's been in regular maps since mars 27:

Google Maps, and Google My MAPS are different programs altogether.
I can set a custom route and waypoints and whatnot in My MAPS. You can save this route and share it with all your friends. Going to a lakehouse via roads that google Maps can't find? No biggie on My MAPS, just draw a line there and ta-da. Wanna go for a hike through the backwoods? My MAPS has your back for planning it!
You CANNOT use Maps to navigate your way through the route on My MAPS. There is NO interchange between the 2 programs. You cant import a route and have Maps follow it on the same goddamn phone!
Who the FUCK thought this was a good idea? Merge the two already for fucks sake!
Google Maps - This app has been incredibly useful for me, honestly I feel it's one of the marvels of the app world.
Power Amp is the default music player.
Bing News is an excellent alternative for Google News, don't ignore it just because it's from MS, it's actually pretty decent.
Relay for Reddit - one of the best mobile apps for Reddit. Shout out to /u/DBrady.
Google's Pixel Launcher.
For rooted devices.
Ad Away to block those pesky ads.
f.lux is recommended for people who use their phones in the night, your eyes will thank you.

This theme is based on the Google Maps App from Google: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps
With any phone, I immediately replace my stock ROM with LineageOS and use MicroG to replace Google Play Services. Because LineageOS does not support spoofing with MicroG, I use the LineageOS MicroG fork. I also root my phone using Magisk. You do not need to root your phone at all.
Majority of my apps are from F-Droid. If I need an app from the Play Store, I use Yalp Store to retrieve to the apk to install.
The only Google app I use is Google Maps as I need live traffic. OsmAnd+ & MAPS.ME both use OpenStreetMap but do not have live traffic. Hopefully OpenTraffic will be up and running in the near future.
Open Source Apps I use:
Firefox Nightly, it has a built-in auto updater. Not stable, since it's a nightly build obviously. I use it with Cookies AutoDelete, HTTPS Everywhere, uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Decentraleyes.
There are tons of great apps in the F-Droid store. You can add on more repositories too.
Get the Eggrider V2 and use your phone as a display and GPS. I use:
Specifically, I use an older Samsung S7 Active for my dedicated 5.5" bike display. Its IP68 complaint for shock, water, dust and has a really good Bluetooth system for music. GPS is bang on once you do the figure 8 calibration.
I will add on that if you need directions from one point to the other I think you may already know about Google Maps being able to help you give directions. Type in a starting address or use the GPS on a phone and type is a destination address or place name. You will get estimated travel times, suggested routes, and travel options if using a personal vehicle, transit options using combinations of public and private bus/train/light rail/subway lines, bicycling, flying, or walking.
If you find yourself without a touchscreen phone using Bluestacks make sure to download the Google Maps app from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps. You can use it offline if Internet access is sporadic to make route planning between two places. It allows you to zoom in on a piece of land or city and download a map of that place. This includes addresses and place names. When using Google Maps there is a lightweight version called Google Map Go for mobile devices. If you need on-the-ground photos to help navigate, use Google Street view app at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.street.
both do turn by turn voice navigation. Google maps should actually already be installed on your pixel. It is just called "Maps". Search for address and then press on directions. Here are some helpful links and links to the actual apps

Google Maps / Timeline does this.
>From what I have read so far is that I first have to take the Haruka airport express to Shin-Osaka and then there take the Shinkansen to Nagoya station. Is this the best way to get to Nagoya Station?

>What I was also wondering is if I am able to buy/reserve tickets/seats beforehand. I have read a bit about the JR pass on this sub but I just need a one way trip to Nagoya. Can I buy tickets for the trains already and if so where?

>As I will be living in Nagoya for 4 months if people got tips about travelling (by subway) in Nagoya that would be greatly appreciated.
List of Google mapping related apps:
I'm probably missing some.
I do these every year to help out our newcomers. This is not only for questions but also info on things like chain laws, traction laws, and closures
Chains are not required for passenger vehicles*, but are required for passenger buses and Trucks (called Commercial Motor Vechicles or CMVs by CDOT) *^(there are times when tire restrictions will be put in place explained below)
More info Here. Thanks /u/doebedoe
If your car is not fit for the driving conditions you will be directed to the nearest exit where you can turn around, or wait for the restrictions to drop. If you are caught on 70 and cause a lane closing incident you could be fined. Otherwise you are just a dick for fucking up traffic.
TAKE THE QUARTER TEST!
The short answer is yes you should. All season tires start turning into rubber bricks once the temp drops below about 15F.
Tirerack.com - though you need to mount the tires yourself obviously. There is a Denver distribution center here for them so you can go pick them up. (From my understanding)
Discount Tire - retailer so you might pay more
Walmart - It is Walmart
Costco - Really good prices, buy and mount. Requires valid Costco membership.
I'm sure there are other local retailers that people can add here too!!
Find a ride share. We will be posting them here from opening week until closing day. There are also plenty of meetup groups, skicarpool.org, and facebook groups. You will be able to find a ride I promise.
Express Lanes: One eastbound lane between Empire and Idaho Springs
Status: Open
Hours of Operation: Open during Peak Travel Times only, 73 days per year
Use of Lane: All vehicles with two axles, including motorcycles, carpoolers, and hybrids will pay a toll in the Express Lane. Please note that the HOV/Carpool option will NOT be available on this lane. Vehicles with more than two axles, or longer than 25 feet, as well as trailers and buses will not be permitted at any point.
Toll Schedule:
To Keystone: US-6 Loveland pass (this route will get snow packed and icy when it snows and is subject to closing when it starts to really fucking snow)
To Breck and beyond: US-6 Loveland pass to Swan Mountain, this will take you around Lake Dillon where you end up at CO-9, take a left to head toward Breck and South Park, take a right to head toward Frisco, The Boat and I-70.
Warning very long fucking route, and subject to closure If CO-91 toward Leadville is not closed then get off at Copper Mountain and take CO-91 toward Leadville (this route has steep grades), after about ~~10~~ 22 miles (thanks /u/a10t2) you will see a turn off for US-24 toward Ski Cooper. This will take you around Tennessee Pass toward Minturn where US-24 meets I-70. Head Eastbound toward Vail and West toward Avon (Beaver Creek, Arrowhead).
Your next bottleneck will be Glenwood Canyon but I don't know any way to get around that. Plus it isn't that bad in the winter compared to Denver to Vail. With Independence Pass closed in the winter you can't get to Glenwood Springs from 285 or 24, so you are stuck taking I-70.

Hi, I think that you do not know what this subreddit is for. This is the sub for people who are not posting in the correct SubReddit. You can download Google maps https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps
For someone who's trying to spearhead control of mega threads you sure lack any form of motivation, effort or planning.

Your actions don't match your words. I wish they did, but they don't.
Google Maps is able to save maps for offline use. Just tap the search bar and scroll down to the bottom. You should see a "Save map to use offline" button. Then you just pan and zoom until you have the area you want to save and hit the save button.
