If you have Fallout 4, I recommend using the Fallout Pip Boy app. It lets you view your pip boy menu without pausing and bringing it up on screen.
Get the pip-boy app on Android or iOS. It basically acts as a second screen where you can equip and use items, look at the map, and other things without having to bring up the pip-boy in game.

Can someone please link the app download for Droid? I'm having some serious problems trying to find it on Google.
EDIT: I found it!
There is already an Android app for FO4.. (I assume there is also an Apple one too...)
Surprised an FO76 app hasn't been craeted yet..
I've thought about doing one of these. I thought I'd try out using the Pip-Boy Companion app for Android to lessen the constant use of my in-game Pip-Boy.

Just in case anyone doesn't know you can play this on your phone if you own Fallout 4 and linked the pip boy app (ios) (android) as long as you have the game's holotape in your inventory when you linked the pip boy app last you can select the holotape and play wherever you are. If you don't have the holotape it can be found in the basement of the Memory Den in Goodneighbor.

Actually, I'm convinced an in-game API allowing things akin to the Fallout companion app would be a great addition to EU4.
Imagine being able to monitor your budget or having a map mode on your smartphone/tablet/secondary laptop while playing the game on your main computer. Or even just use more than one screen of your computer.
It'd also be a blessing for Vic2 pop/economy screen or HoI3's OoB.
The app is available on Itunes, Google Play, and Windows Phone (link wasn't work last I saw). Click on demo mode and you're off.
It took me quiet a while to piece this map together, I really hope everyone like it!! :-D if you want the Pip-boy app you can get it here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
-currently only Android version is available-
Its the game app. You can control your game like a pip boy.

It's on the Android Play Store right now, I assume it has also been released for iOS. It has a demo mode you can look at until you connect it with Fallout 4.
EDIT: other posts are saying it's only on Android right now, sorry iOS users if that is the case. Hopefully it's out soon.
Worked for equipment and weapon swapping as well as local map tracking in Fallout 4; I kept a tablet running this next to my computer all the time for that. Granted, not saying it's easy to accomplish, just that it's not that far-fetched.
They made an app that lets your phone be used as a part of the in-game pipboy. It ties to your game on PC, xbox, or PS4 by wifi. You can use it as a minimap or access your inventory.
So now you can navigate the wasteland without having to refer to your in-game map.
On Android
Very cool. As another poster mentioned - attaching an Android phone running the new realtime PipBoy App would be iicing on the cake.

It is now available in the Windows Store as well just not sure how to link it.
For those having a hard time finding it on the play store:

Android/Google Play
iOS/App Store
Note: Until you have access to the game on PC, PS4, or Xbox One, you can only use demo mode.
Bethesda does have a "general info" contact email (source):

Have you tried using the PipBoy smartphone app with the game? It might be easier to use the touch screen.
When console mods become a thing, you could also request a mod that remaps the PipBoy controls. The XBOne is supposedly going to get mods first.
Edit: Fallout Pip-Boy on Google Play, iTunes
You could try the Pip-Boy for mobile app. Really cool as it updates your game in real-time like when you switch weapons.

Everybody should know about the Pip Boy companion app! I just found it last night!
It lets you access everything in your Pip Boy from a mobile device in real time. Map. Nuff said.
Right now!
There's a Pip-Boy app for Android: Fallout Pip-Boy
Haven't tried it though.
The map is found in the companion app bethesda release. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
Found the link in the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en
Android only at the moment. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
They must've pulled it from the google play store... with a quick search I found the Bethesda.net article where they announced the launch of the pip-boy app, and here's the google play link, which goes nowhere: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en
Good news is if you do a bit of google-fu, you can find the APK file on pirate sites and side-load it onto your Android device (as long as it allows side-loading apps)... I'll leave that up to you..
I have an old iPad I can still download it on the Apple app store (ca. 2012), so maybe pick up a cheap-ish used iPad?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
I got the url from the app. But it doesn't link to anything......sorry
That's exactly what companion app is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en

Not really a controller, but there is a app to let you use your smart phone as a pipboy while playing FO4.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en
There is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
I use it all the time as the map updates in real time which is super useful!
@minimap: have you seen the pipboy app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en
Just test the app yourself first. The pip boy itself is a glorified wrist-phone-holder.
is the app out yet?
EDIT: found it! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp&hl=en
here's a link for the lazy. also only on andriod too.
Here is a link to it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
If you have an android device, download the app and check out the settings here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bethsoft.falloutcompanionapp
I only found it on Google Play.
