You can get it here -

I’m not entirely sure how the app works on android, if it’s like the iOS app, then I’d imagine you can just redeem a code for six months free given to you by Verizon.
There is anApple Music App for Android on the PlayStore.
And there is a online player which you can open in any browser.
So you can play Apple Music from pretty much and device. Which ones do you need which are not supported?
Umm... Apple music is on Android.
You can use Apple music in a 100% supported fashion on a Windows PC, an Android phone, and stream it to your Amazon Echo. Where is the idea that you're locked to Apple products coming from?
> Should I get one of the current Nexus models or will there be a new release later this year?
Wait for a month or two, they'll come around then. If you don't like the new ones, the older ones will get cheaper, of course :)
> How easy is it to get music onto an android phone (or specifically a Nexus phone) from iTunes?
I am not familiar with iTunes, but I think you can do it
iTunes is a program that only runs on computers, not phones so it won't be available on Android. You can however get Apple Music on the Play Store.
Apple Music exists on android, so you should be fine there.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en
Everything else should transfer over just fine with Samsung's Smart Switch https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00061001/
Well, Apple does support Apple Music on Android.
If Apple is going to support Apple Music on Alexa (despite competing against the Homepod), and they already support Apple Music on Android and Windows (despite competing against iOS and MacOS), why wouldn't they also support Apple Music on the Google Home? Clearly their goals with Apple Music are to get subscriptions, not to lock people into the Apple Ecosystem as they do with most of their services.
I agree with the consensus -- if you can find a Pixel, get that instead. Google's own stuff will be supported longer, will have less preloaded crapware, and is just widely recognized as being better software-wise, and the Pixel is among the best hardware this time around.
If you can't find a Pixel, hopefully someone else has an opinion -- LG and HTC have both made good phones in the past, but individual models vary. Read reviews.
> Can I get applications that allow me to sync my music or photos with Apples software (Photos or iTunes)?
Maybe look into Apple Music if you want to keep using iTunes and such.
You could also upload your music collection into Google Play Music -- if you're using your own music, this doesn't cost money. If you're willing to pay money for a subscription instead, still Google Play Music -- the subscription includes Youtube Red.
For photos, you almost certainly want Google Photos. The downside is that if you just install that on iOS and upload your photos from there, it won't necessarily get the full-quality versions, and it'll charge you for storage for the full-quality versions in general. But the compressed "high-quality" versions are still pretty good.
If you absolutely need to preserve the full-quality versions, you probably want to sync your photos to a proper computer, and you can plug in an Android phone and copy them over that way. The obvious downside is you kind of have to do this manually -- ideally, on Android, you want everything syncing to some sort of cloud service. Once you have that working, the idea of tying your phone to a computer just to transfer data seems archaic.
Apple music is actually available on Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en
Unfortunately there seems to have been a shit update to the app recently, causing crashes and shit, but give after a few updates it may be fine again
Here's a link to the Apple Music app for Android:

> Apple lowering price points and making it work on all devices is very unlikely
Making it work on all devices is already the direction they are headed, Apple already announced partnerships with Samsung, LG, Sony, and Vizio, and streaming services from Roku and Amazon to get it to appear on various smart TVs and streaming boxes. When Apple has a popular service like Apple Music, they do develop Android apps for them too.
We don't know prices yet (and neither did the author of this opinion piece), but we know how competitive the market is, and that new services launching this year to compete with Netflix will need a price less than Netflix’s monthly fee at launch (as Bob Iger confirmed about Disney+, despite the fact that Disney has such a huge library of movies and shows available.) Apple is cash-rich enough to afford big initial investments while maintaining a popular launch price, and will also be in a position to offer bundles where one monthly price covers Apple Music, their new Arcade+ video game package, and the TV+ streaming service.
There's no iTunes app for Android, but there is an Apple Music app. I don't use iTunes, but from articles I've found it seems like you can only access your iTunes library through it if you are an Apple Music subscriber.
If you are just looking to play the purchased files directly you have a couple options. You can download all your music through the iTunes desktop application and either move it to your phone manually or upload it to Google Play Music. If you want to keep using iTunes on your computer you can use doubleTwist to integrate with iTunes on your desktop.
I'm streaming with apple music on my android phone.
You can download apple music on any device, it is like spotify. There is a free trial period but you have to key in your credit card deets for $0 payment. Set an alarm to remind yourself to cancel.

>This latest version also adds support for “OK Google” voice commands. So you can ask your Android smartphone to play a song, artist, or Beats 1 radio, and it will automatically open Apple Music and start streaming. A simple quick test of “OK Google, play Beats 1 in Apple Music” was successful for me.

S10+ isn't a slam-dunk victor over the iPhone, I would say Face ID would be more consistent and reliable than the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the S10+. Camera is better overall as well (but S10 isn't far behind). In terms of UI smoothness and consistency, iPhone definitely wins across the board.
However, iOS is still tightly locked down, there's no true file system, everything is tightly isolated and any funneling of data locally requires iTunes (as you probably already know), and it requires a proprietary lightning connector for data and charging (and it's stuck on the archaic USB 2.0 standard). And yes, it requires a Lightning to 3.5mm headphone dongle that's easily lost. The S10 has a jack. The S10 has a USB 3.1 5 Gbps speed type-C port.
Battery life wise though, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is the king of the hill. No contest. https://images.anandtech.com/graphs/graph14892/96171.png
> Macbook
you'll be fine with MacOS + Chrome browser
> Apple Watch
wait for the Wear OS watches with Qualcomm's new SoC for wearables. the SoC it will replace is ~2 years old. be careful, some newly announced watches have said old chip (Snapdragon Wear 2100).
> iPad Pro
not sure how much nicely it will play with Android devices, but most if not all of Google's apps can be had in iOS, but sadly not set as defaults.
> Apple Music
it's available on Android but Spotify plays better with the Google Assistant
> iCloud storage
Google Photos (free unlimited (compressed) backups!) + Google Drive
> Cheatsheet (an app for noting down thing like passwords)
you mean this iOS app?, if yes, Google Keep.
> Apple TV/Homepod/Apple Podcasts
no experience with this, but Chromecast, Google Home (Max), Google Podcasts come to mind
> Pillow
totally no idea, sorry
That's what I thought, just wanted clarification. There's an Apple Music app for Android so I thought it might be something similar.
I agree with your other points but isn't there an Apple Music app on play store?
Edit: Here it is. I assume it works the same as the IOS version?
The official Apple android music client is not great. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music)
Use Doubletwist: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.doubleTwist.androidPlayer
As long as you have a good size SD card, you should be good to go.
I have a Android phone, my parents subscribe to Apple Music, and there is a Apple Music app for Android that works just fine..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en
Depends on what you want. They are internally the same device in almost all aspects. If you want the pen or slightly larger screen, the Note 7. If you want to save a little money, get a slightly bigger battery, get the S7E.
Yes, you can download all your music from iTunes to a computer then transfer it to any device.
> im assuming Apple music is a no go since i dont have an iphone
You assume wrong: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en
By my math, Apple Music pays artists at an effective rate of three to four times that of Spotify, so it seems to fit your bill pretty well.
>Apple Music doesn't exist for Windows.
I said Apple Music for Android. You can download that here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&gl=US
>it doesn't support cloud capabilities
It certainly supports the iTunes store which is cloud based. If you go down to the bottom of the iTunes Store, you'll see iTune Match. https://imgur.com/a/7rodyGQ
SoundCloud is good but I agree that it's not for Discord.
I don't use Spotify due to ads & I wasn't able to download songs for offline listening.
But apple music works on my android devices. No lie, look here in the Google Play Store.
It wouldn't be an issue implementing it to Discord, Apple Music & YouTube(Music) should be added & no other music platforms.
Yes, download the app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en_US&gl=US
You can then use one of those music transfer apps to move your playlists from Spotify
I don't have any Apple device, but was able to set "Family Sharing" on my Android phone. You download "Apple Music" from Google Play. Then subscribe for "Family" option (it is free for 3 months; don't forget to cancel). After that you can manage your Family Sharing on your phone by sending invitation to people you want (they have to confirm that on "Apple Music" app on Android or Apple device as well, just browser does not work).
That is it - Apple TV+ (its subscription you can manage in browser) then works for all members on different devices (I tried Chromecast with Google TV and Firestick 4K Max, guess other supported devices should be the same).
It surely would be much easier if Apple just supported profiles on just one account (of any device), but their obviously want to push their devices.
Windows 10 has made HUGE strides in recent years, and is arguably just as usable, if not more, than OS X. Except the rare app that only works on one OS or the other, you'll find feature parity between them, and arguing about which is better is full of people that say, "ACTUALLY..." a lot.
OneNote, especially if you're using a device that can do tablet mode, is leaps and bounds beyond anything Apple has put out or exists on iOS, but that's more of a edge case.
That said, don't confuse Android as somehow tightly integrated with Windows, or visa-versa. "Your Phone" works well, but is very device-dependent, with the most features being enabled for Samsung-manufactured devices. Generally, cloud-based services are the way to when syncing data across devices. Microsoft has OneDrive (and an android app), Google has Google Drive (and an Windows app), and you can just pick your poison there.
If you're solely concerned about photo syncing, Amazon Photos is fantastic, and free full-res backup if you've got Amazon Prime, too. (where "free" is "you're paying for Prime", of course)
If on-the-fly file transfer is your thing, Android devices expose their storage as simple USB devices, so you don't really need to install anything, just.. plug it in. If you're looking for wireless transfer, there's plenty of apps to accomplish the same thing -- AirDrop is a personal favorite from back in the day, but I can honestly say, I've not had to use it in years.
Also recognize that Android doesn't have an iTunes-like experience. Your device doesn't need to plug in to some computer to activate or perform backups or other shit, and there's no in-built media player like iTunes (though Apple does release the Apple Music app for Android).
Then how did you feel about Apple Music going on Android? I mean, Apple moving over their TV app is the least of their concerns and would set up their Apple TV+ service to fail if they didn't put it out for a wider user base.
Dude, I have the Pixel 4a. there is an apple music app in the google play store!

Here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en
Yup. You can download it from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music
Hmm, can’t say I experience the issue you’re describing with Spotify. I create a playlist , add whatever songs I want to it and play them just fine. Whether shuffled or I. The order they are listed.
Apple Music Link to app Version 3.3.0
With media resumption, when the song changes, it doesn't change on the lock screen and displays the song that was initially played (you can still see which song is actually playing in the quick settings menu). Also when listening to Apple Music over Bluetooth it will stutter and lag the phone despite having the songs downloaded and having a stable connection.
Last one isn‘t realy a problem because Apple Music exists for android, too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en I would compare the Apps and choose whatever i like.
If you haven’t used the Apple ID on the iTunes & App Stores previously, there are some Terms & Conditions you must review and agree to. You might be able to download the Apple Music app from the Google Play Store and get it to prompt you to agree to the terms.
Ah, that could be a bit of a problem…
I don't know if Apple's still doing free trials or not, but here's the android app for apple music.
If they are doing free trials, you'd have access to anything on iTunes music catalogue. It's about $9 a month to keep the subscription.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en_US
hm i guess it will.. neat. wonder how its dap compares https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en_US
Like they did with Apple Music, but with iMessage. Charge a fee for it on the Play Store, whatever. Then iPhones can have encrypted blue text convos with Android phones without installing another app. Everybody wins.
Just switch to Apple Music. Shit on Spotify, get better service, and it's the SAME PRICE.
I think there's an Apple Music app for Android now. But I was kind of thinking the same thing when I was bringing up apps originally.
>I'm on android so Apple music isn't an option.
I don't think that's correct.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en_US
Dude, as mentioned, their content is not exclusive to their devices. If you subscribe to Apple Music you get access, even on android
They’ve stated they expect to generate a lot more of their revenue from services such as this.

I do believe you are mixing up iTunes, Apple's music playing program and Apple Music, Apple's music streaming service that's available within iTunes. You can get Apple Music for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en

btw apple music on android is a better designed app than fucking gpm.
I did a quick Google Search to help you find the link. I don't have an android so I can only assume it works:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music&hl=en
Be sure to enable iCloud Music Library on all of your devices, including iTunes on your laptop and desktop computers.
I didn't find it so easy to get my iTunes music on the phone via the Apple Music app. The app did not feel mature to me. It has bugs and feels incomplete. I guess it is enough if you want to access Apple Music streaming, but I had trouble getting music downloaded for offline use. I was not happy with the way it syncs or rather does not sync my complete iTunes library. You can read some more about its problems in the reviews at the store. Many users seem to be happy though. I guess it depends what phone you have and in what way you use iTunes. I ended up to use Resilio Sync to sync the iTunes folder and Gazania for ITunes Playlists to sync all my playlists. See my answer here if you are interested. There are also other apps that sync iTunes playlists.
> I use Apple Music because it's convenient. Spotify sucks in Canada compared to Apple Music, is Google Play any better? Does it work for streaming as well?
Also in response to this you can just continue to use Apple music if you switch play store link
Link to the Apple Music app on Google Play:
There is an Apple music app on the play store, but it didn't work to well compared to it's iPhone counterpart. It costs a couple bucks a month of if you wanna risk it (I had like 400 songs and the app stoped working for me) pretty sure that's what the OP is using.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apple.android.music
Last time I used it a few months back it was really buggy, however it was still in beta so maybe it's fixed by now.
Either use the Apple Music app on Android, or you can buy it off the iTunes store, but it'll need you to download the iTunes program on a PC
Apple offers a music app for Android phones I thought?
Yeah, Apple Music app, and it's known as the official way to play iTunes music on your android phone.

There is an Apple Music app on the Play Store! Here is the link!
Where you get apps on the S8 and almost every other Android device is the Google Play store. Apple's app store does have a larger selection, but the Play store will almost certainly have the apps you need. They may not have smaller apps with less users, but almost every big app you can think of (Facebook, Spotify, etc.) will be there. You can browse all the Play Store apps here.
The S8 takes fantastic photos. My first phone was an iPhone 5c. I then had a LG G4, and now my S8 Plus. The camera takes fantastic photos and should not dissapoint. SuperSaf TV does a great job with his camera comparisons, this is his comparison between the S8 and the iPhone 7.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

What platform is Apple Music not available on? It’s on iOS and Macs, obviously, its on Android, and it’s on Windows through iTunes. Plus Roku, Alexa, Tizen…
Apple TV and Apple Music are some of the most available streaming services, from what I’ve seen. Apple would rather you use their devices, sure, but they also like monthly fees.
I don’t really use any music streaming service (I buy all my music and stream it through Plex) so I can’t really address your other points, but that one struck me as a little… false.
But Apple Music is available for Android?

Here's a direct link for you! You can either open it on your device directly, or if you're at your computer or such, you can "push" it to your phone with the install button, and it'll be waiting for you when you next pick it up :)
