Take a look at something like Bonza for a bit of an example of how you could monetise your puzzle content without being overly aggressive.
A few apps I'm really enjoying recently, all working on 5.0.
List made using List My Apps
Might have a puzzle slant in my choices...
Free
Bonza - reverse crossword puzzle. They have a National Geographic variant too.
har•mo•ny - pleasing puzzle with nice score. Sequel is not free though.
Pako - Car Chase Simulator - Old school police car chase arcade game with a cracking 80s-style soundtrack.
Paid
Badland - Love the game physics of this one-touch survival adventure puzzle game. Although it's free with ads, I recommend getting the IAP for the full experience without interruption.
Duet - Arcade game with an interesting concept. Another free with ads game but you really need the IAP for endless and daily modes.
Hitman GO - This puzzle game is beautifully minimalist and requires serious thinking.
Gems
Anything from the Quell series. Another meditative puzzle game (yes, I like my puzzles).
Devil's Attorney - Cheesy turn-based strategy game. If you like your 80s stuff, this is it.
Slingshot Racing - Challenging racing game that requires strategic thinking because of the one-touch game mechanic.
Try Bonza
Nice! Reminds me of this app and this hunt-style puzzle.
Quite original crossword-like puzzle - Bonza: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.au.com.minimega.bonza
Games I play from time to time:
Bonza -good game if your into word puzzles
Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes - I just picked this up last night but I'm enjoying it so far.
Okay? - decent time waster
Battle Cats decent game although it becomes pay to win if you don't end up hacking it.
