I hiiiiighly recommend Steve Jackson's Sorcery.
It was originally an adventure book, but adapted to mobile by Inkle, and they did a great job. It is $5, which seems high for a mobile game at first, but considering the replayability, polish, and plain awesome story, it's well worth the price. (Note this is only part 1 of 4, but there's easily hours of content in each part.)
Here's a video of some YouTubers playing it a few years back, to give you a sense of the game.
The first 3 Sorcery! chapters are on sale right now... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.sorcery1 the original gamebooks were unforgiving, but the apps are definitely better. I really liked Magium https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magiumgames.magium a lot.
Looks really interesting. Will try it out soon.
May I know what works were your inspiration for making this game? I really enjoyed The "Sorcery" series of CYOA apps by inkle, your game reminds me of them. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.sorcery1
There are some great suggestions here.
Splendor is another one I'd recommend, it not only has the normal game but a load of puzzle like challenges to do.
as an alternate to boardgames you might like
Sorcery its an app of the Fighting Fantasy choose your own adventure, book of the same name but rather than being a straight port it has a lot of nice features. A map that works like when you use to keep your fingers between several pages, and a new combat system, it also tracks all your equipment, ration and items so you just need the app and nothing else.
The Sorcery series might be a good shout - great story and I'm pretty sure you can play in portrait: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.sorcery1
The sequels are perhaps even better than the first!
Good games for the role playing aspect:

They're $5 each, but as an avid DnD player, I felt they did a great job of emulating the feeling of playing a tabletop campaign in a choose-your-own-adventure format. I binged the first game. My wife was mad.
There are also a lot of apps for character sheets, etc. If you want to do a little prep, pick up a players handbook and read through the classes and races to start figuring out what kind of character interests you. Don't worry so much about the stat blocks just yet; focus on the descriptions and flavor text and just let your imagination run rampant.
Hmm, sorry I don't know any games quite like this. Even still, you might have fun with adventure books like Sorcery!. The combats are not real time but the story is pretty good. I'd wait til it goes on sale though if I were you.
For real OP, Sorcery! it is THE best game I have ever played on the app store in my life and I wish I could turn back time to experience for the first time again.
Text-based RPG worth mentioning are transposition of GameBook.
Very briefly, I was bored almost immediately, which I suppose is not surprising from what is a very basic webpage on disk. In a world where Sorcery exists as a yardstick, if you're going to do interactive fiction, you'll have to raise your game a little higher than DQ.

80 Days and Overboard are also Inkle games and have very good stories

While not dnd, there are a lot of rpg like games out there. The most popular is Sorcery.
Another one is called d&d choices.
I'm sure if you Google those apps, someone out there has a list with comparable apps.
Hope this helps!
Azt ugye tudod, hogy a nálunk Kaland, Játék, Varázslat néven futó Sorcery sorozatból csináltak egy kurva jól sikerült Androidos feldolgozást? Life Is Strange, Sorcery, 80 Days and Republique are good story led games.
Linkme: Life Is Strange, Sorcery!, 80 Days, Republique
Ignore bot, link for Sorcery is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.sorcery1
Solo avventure grafiche?
Sorcery! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.sorcery1&hl=de
I went from reading the Beano to Roald Dahl, Just William by Richmal Crompton, then Tom Sharpe's novels. All the time permeated by Fighting Fantasy series by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone (there's an app based on a sub series which I can't remember right now worth checking).
Eventually went on to Jeeves and Wooster by PG. Wodehose and the Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. I was a weird and probably insufferable kid.
Edit the app is called Sorcery! Well worth a look, also 80 days by Inkle is good. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inkle.sorcery1
idk if anyone has mentioned them but Steve Jackson's Sorcery! 1-3 are FANTASTIC games, the price is worth it trust me! lots of hours dumped into this game, and every playthrough is different. I have gone through 1-3 many different times and ive still found lots of content I have not seen before.
It's not really like Lifeline which I've found boring after a while but I strongly raccomend the serie of "Sorcery" like /u/mrohovie already suggested.
Best transposition of a Gamebook that I've ever found.
If you're into text adventure you could try even "Lone Wolf Saga". In-game shop is absolutely optional and is basically a way to thanks the (single) developer.
Sorceryis awesome.
The whole Sorcery series:
Play them in order, import your save from 1 to 2, from 2 to 3, from 3 to 4, and then do a new game + by importing your save from 4 back into 1 and play the whole series again with new areas to explore.

Best text based game on the play store IMO
Since there is no info on platform and year, I can suggest Sorcery! on Android and it's second part.

Have you tried the "Sorcery!" series? I've heard the first one is kinda short, but the next ones are where the game really expands. It's one of the best in its genre.
There are also games like Pocket City (very different genre), or maybe Gloomgrave is your type of thing. I'm just gonna throw CyberCode Online out there as an alternative too. It's free to play, but when anyone buys an iAP it affects every player on the server, which is really neat. The rest of the iAPs are just for cosmetics.
All of these also have MiniReview reviews, by the way, if you wanna check those out and see what the community thinks too :)
