It's been Amazon's FAotD a couple times which is how I got it. The dev's previous and similar game, Mage Gauntlet, is really good too and cheaper. But it doesn't have the roguelike elements.
See the recommendations in this post. Personally, I'd recommend Mage Gauntlet.

Can be played offline. Fun Zelda-esque game, no online/lan though.
Good.. you did good, bot.
Hmm, like the gameplay of Wayward Souls... The most obvious one is:
Mage Gauntlet - game they made before Wayward Souls
Classic games, awesome music:
More recent games (both have ad supported as well as paid versions):
Mystic Gaurdian (paid version has been frequently on sale for “free”)
Zelda-likes:
Diablo-esque:
All but 3 of these have controller support if that matters (1, 5, and 6 don't)

One I played a while back that I lik*e*d was Mage Gauntlet and it is also on android. There are micro-transactions, but they are just for bonus items, you can beat the game without it, and they don't effect game play, they are just stat boosting items.
The controls work fairly well, considering it is touch screen, the story is not bad, and the game has a nice bit of lighthearted humor.
Also, I am a fan of the soundtrack
So it turns out Wayward Souls is so popular it outranks their other game in the search.
