Not entirely sure this would be a help but I found Automatag to be perfect for doing this, it usually can automatically find the tags for your file just by using the metadata, but if not you can manually input it and I believe it's a permanent change to the file's metadata as well. Could be wrong tho, here's a link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger&hl=en_US
Below are my recommendations:
For tagging the files: Automatic Tag Editor
Music players:
Organizing mp3/m4a files in directory structure (Artist/Album/Song): Mozr
I assume you're talking about this one, because I said AutomaTag but the name in Play Store is actually Automatic Tag Editor. Sorry for the confusion.
Setup the app (folder permissions, yadda yadda), it'll list all your songs it can find, then:
pick a song
tap to manual edit
there's a "Lyrics" field if you scroll down a bit, tap on it
here you have 2 options: web lookup or clipboard. Web lookup will open a google search for the song lyrics, while clipboard will just paste any text you've copied before (you can search for the lyrics beforehand and copy it, then just tap on clipboard for easier time).
Ok, then tap the checkmark on the top right corner.
Check if the lyrics now show up in your music player app.
I've used Automatic Tag Editor ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger&hl=en_US ) to great success on my phone. You can search for and add album art, or attach is directly if you have the cover on your phone.
Well, depends. If you're using Spotify, then sadly you can't.
HOWEVER, if you're using an mp3 player app on your phone and you downloaded the mp3 files of each song, then you actually can, using an app called automatic tag editor, which can edit the mp3 files of a song. You can rename the song, change the track number, artist, album, and the art cover (which is what you're looking for!)
Here is a link for the app (Google play store)
I use Samsung player (The old app version, with colours) and this app, as you said that you use offline music:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
It adds a photo cover to the downloaded song (if it doesn't have) and it's free. Also it adds some description to it. It's really beautiful seeing your music list with covers :)
I use Automatic Tag Editor. You can edit whole albums, or individual songs. It also will try to find the tags automatically, but you don't need to use that.
Since someone helped me find the best alternative, I'm paying it forward.
Newpipe: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe
AutomaTag: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger&hl=en_US
Newpipe is an app from Github that opens up on YT and let's you download any video you want. Click on the logo to get directed towards the download.
AutomaTag is an app that let's you modify the title, artist, album, cover art, and many other parameters you want. No bullshit title and artist on the same title like every other converter out there.
Enjoy.
The m4a format supports metadata/id3 tagging. Which tag editor are you using? I use AutomaTag with m4as with no issues.
Here's a screenshot of a tagged m4a as an example: https://i.imgur.com/FbSgL9o.jpg
I recently started using a dedicated music tagging app called Automatic Tag Editor and find it to be extremely useful. It does exactly what I need.
This will not export your tags for all songs if that was your requirement. Though Automa Tag Editor is really robust in updating tags and saving them in metadata of songs.
Recomendo baixar o AutomaTag, ele pode editar os metadados da maioria das músicas automaticamente, isso inclui também a capa. É uma boa opção se você quer ver as suas faixas arrumadas.
i don't think that's really possible, as you can't really tag youtube uploads, you can only give them titles descriptions and thumbnails, not artist/song info, the way i go about downloading music nowdays is either using soulseek as most music there is already tagged, i just need to get a higher resolution cover most of the time, or through Newpipe which is essentially that website you linked but completely ad free, it's not really for audiophiles though as you can only download audio in 128kbps (which is the max youtube's compression allows) but if you don't have a HiFi setup or don't care all that much for audio quality it works just fine, the files don't come tagged though, for that i use Automatag which is not ideal but speeds up the process a little by looking up the name of the file on spotify and extracting the track data (artist, cover, year, genre etc) from there and automatically applying it to the file, but since it looks up the track info only on spotify you won't be able to tag songs and albums that are not uploaded there.
It's not open source, but Automatic Tag Editor does that. It has an automatic setting that's fairly accurate and will do an entire folder automatically. You can also grab a group and quickly tap through them if you don't want the automatic option.
I already uploaded my 110 songs in YTM. With edit their tag so i guess it's not bad advice.
You can use the this android app it's like butter for changing tags and putting album art too.
If you prefer to do it all on your phone, you can try using what I use: Automatic Tag Editor. It makes it wonderfully easy to look up appropriate album art for MP3s and then update their metadata to use it.
You can do that but you have to put the album cover on the song urself I use this on my Android phone but I'm not sure about PC
You could re-encode the file's thumbnail using an audio tag editor similar to AutomaTag which also supports tagging multiple audio files at once.
Download automatic tag editor in the app store and enable all the necessary permissions.
When you find the song you wanna remove the artwork for click it and click the 3 lines at the top, then click "remove artwork"
The good thing about automatic tag editor is that you can add any artwork you want from your gallery to any song you want.
OKAY GUYS! I Appear to have found solution in form of an app called AutomaTag Idk if it'll fix playback issues on USB in certain stereos like my Uncle has experienced (seems to only be a problem either on certain stereo brands or USB brands cuz the music works on my USB in my car stereo but not his USB in his car stereo. This app also allows me to add cover art. So for the most post, my OCD for my phone with the track details should be fixed!
Sounds like you'd appreciate AutomaTag. It's a mobile app that can find the correct tags and Covers for your tracks. Be careful when using it though, you can preview that tags but if you click on the suggested track it will apply the tags (Sometimes, it picks the incorrect song, artists etc).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
Or if you want to use a PC, you can use MusicBrainz Picard. It's a little more complicated and only recently have I got it to work the way I want but if it fat more robust. If you go down this avenue, be prepared to watch multiple videos and know exactly how to use it.
Before doing ANY of this, I'd recommend doing a backup of your current library (copy all the files to another folder or device). Do this on your phone, Laptop/Computer. Whatever is more convenient. Trust me, there is nothing worse than messing up your downloaded tracks. I do regular backups (one or twice a month). I had a library of over 2000 songs get corrupted (luckily I had playlists on Youtube which had every song I had downloaded, so getting my library back wasn't too hard but definitely time consuming). Now I'm over 4000 and will never let that happen again.
That app was banned from playstore for some reason, you should switch. I recommend MixPlorer from apkmirror. About the song image you can change it using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
Just edit the "info/tags". Open the song. In the playing window tap the 3 dots on the bottom right. The menu that pops up has the "info/tags" on it. Just tap that and then tap edit.
If you are wanting to do several in a faster way, you can use Automa Tag.
I use this app called atotag. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
It changes the meta data of the mp3 and shows the artist name, music art etc.
Retro music: When searching for music from your local Library you can sort by artists, albums, etc. This app is completely ad free.
Is my first time recomending an app that fits perfect for that person, feels so good ☺
No, solid explorer doesn’t support tag editing. Very few file managers support this feature. But that’s not a huge problem, you can still try Automatic tag editor or Star music tag editor to edit tags of your songs
Try tag 320 kbps songs with Automatag. It works pretty well. Or try using AutoTagger. The are much same.
Automatic Tag Editor is my favorite. They have a paid add on that allows for audio fingerprinting so you can get info on songs that have no tag info. Seems like a pretty active developer as well.
Okay so since this is somehow unbelievably confusing to some....
I want to know if there is anything like THIS but for videos.
Before you upload the mp3 files, you have to edit the mp3 file itself with something called a "tag editor". The one I usually use on my phone is an Android app called 'AutomatagAutomatag'. I can change the album cover, song title, artist, etc. But that's exclusively for Android. For other platforms there are different options. Just google "mp3 tag editor" for your device and see which one is best for you.
You can't do this on a streaming service like spotify. The only real way is to download it and manually change the cover image using a tag editor app.
I recommend using this one because it should automatically fill in all the other tags so that the mp3 appears correctly on your music player (If it doesn't automatically show the correct track just fill in artist and title and it should sort the rest itself). You can change the cover image at the bottom when editing the tags.
I don't care how unethical it is. I cry for the compression. I introduced mysister to YMusic >!which is basically an app that let's you listen to YouTube videos (i.e. music on youtube) without downloading the video stream. Saves on your data obviously!< one of the side features is you can download the audio streams to MP4/MP3/AAC format on your phone. It was a new phone and I hadn't had a change to put her music on it. Little did I know it was so easy to use she's just been downloading music constantly to her phone. There's just SO much on there. I think the fact that it uses the YT recommendation algo combined with downloading the music it just created a bad combination. At least I finally got her to search for [Song Title] + "lyrics" which has reduced the amount of music video downloads with excess audio in them.
I use a tag editor that at least is VERY easy to use and has a very good interface so her music is at least marginally tagged properly.
I use an app called "Automatic tag editor" it's on the play store by "fillobotto" developer. automatag It scans your library and gets you a list of all of your songs, then you select one and fill just the title and singer/group/band info and it search for results and applies them. For massive editing you have to buy in app the batch and fingerprint modes so it scans in batches and updates by what the music sounds so no need to fill anything. Hope I've helped you
I use a microsd card as well as AutomaTag from the play store to fix any small issues with the tags. Deezloader also let's you download with correct tags as well as synced lyrics, which are supported in Samsung Music.
Well, if you're looking to do that on an android, I would recommend you to use AutomaTag.
I like that because it's pretty clean (unlike most apps in market) and does the work.
I've purchased the "batchmode" (to edit multiple songs easily), but personally, I would recommend you not to, since I still rely more on editing the tags individually.
Every direct download site for Bollywood music is full of shitty ads and popups
I usually convert from YouTube to MP3 and later edit the tags using Automatic Tag Editor
You only need to fill in one or two details like song name and then the app searches for the remaining details online and fills them by itself, including cover art with no watermarks. Of course you'll have to spend a lot of time on the app if there's a large backlog of untagged songs. I usually do it instantly after downloading the song.
I would suggest my own application which does its job also without paying even tough you have to open songs one by one and apply the changes.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
Oh yea it doesn't support ID tag editing. That's it's only weakness. It's the only audio player I can stand to use for streaming through my house or in my car though. The audio processing is a lot better and the volume normalization allows you to just set it once and never have to fiddle with the volume. Samsung stock apps tend to emphasize light weightedness and speed and it just works. I just create play lists. I only use the other tabs to actually find songs.
It's really easy to just create a Playlist for every album or artists. It keeps track of what you have and haven't selected so you won't add duplicates. It works way better than the way other music apps like Google play work. Waaay more battery efficient too. It also skips silences so you can play an entire album seamlessly.
If you want a super lightweight player that's super high quality then you can't really ask for more bloat too.
Just use it on conjunction with something like this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
Here's all the apps I have on my phone. I would appreciate any similar apps or recommendations and if there is a better app for anything (reddit, twitter) too, I would appreciate it!

Boost Preferred Reddit client. EDIT: Trying Dash as a secondary client, it's neat!
Dumpster Neat little app which restores anything you've deleted recently. Has a minimal effect on battery life.
Flamingo Preferred Twitter client, amazing design! Made by the developer of Weather Timeline.

I personally like this app
Musicbrains Picard is your best option on Windows.
On Android Automatag
I've been using this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger It seems to work pretty well.
You can use automatag to add missing information for your downloaded music.
With AutomaTag.
If you're on the Android version, I've also seen this.
I haven't found a fix, so I use AutomaTag.
If you want to edit Id3 tags use Automatic Tag Editor (can edit manually too)
If you're on android, there's a great app on GitHub called NewPipe that lets you rip audio directly from youtube to your music folder. I pair it with AutomaTag from the Google Play store to tag. Autofills everything it's great. You may consider getting F-Droid from GitHub as well which is just a GitHub appstore basically. You can use to to update or just download Newpipe.
I'm using AutomaTag
Automatic Tag Editor on Google Play Store, it's free and works really well (but double check the info when apply song details) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
Now I'm thinking it's due to the ID3 tags.
Install this and see if there is any tidying up to be done...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
Your song list is hurting my eyes, Please use this :(
Automatic Tag Editor is a great app with a whole host if features like this. It's also updated regularly.

Not sure if this is what you meant but it's something i used to use before
Try this mp3 tagger.
I use Automatic Tag Editor. It can do batches of songs.
If it's not a problem to use Android app, I recommend this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
tenta o Automatic Tag Editor
Try using other music tagging app, like this one.
You can use Automatag to add tags on your mp3 files. It also have batch mode for faster tagging.
You need to rename the tags, not the file name, some music players have thos option built in.
App i would suggest is Automatic tag editor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
AutomaTag, the beta version support opus.
They do transfer over if the tags are saved to music file, otherwise not. However, a better app to edit tags is this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
you can use Automatag to embed album art on the music file
Idk anything about Pulsar, but you can use Automatag to edit meta tags and album art for individual songs, or multiple songs.
Use AutomaTag for embedding images in the file
To name a few:

I ran across Automatic Tag Editor about a month ago but have had no need to use it. A million downloads, highly rated. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
If you're looking for an easy way to automate your tags, use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger
1) I personally enjoy Play Music but that's mainly because all my music is in their cloud
2) Play Music (and the majority of modern music players) sort music based on the files metadata (ID3 Tags).
To edit the metadata:
via Play Music (via web player only): https://support.google.com/googleplaymusic/answer/1100174?hl=en
via desktop program: mp3tag
via Android device: Automatic Tag Editor (or similar -- I do all my tagging via mp3tag on Windows)
3) I don't believe so. If you want more archaic organization (no judgment), try Winamp
You can do it with Automatic Tag Editor
Thank you! For mobile, I use this and it's very good too.
Helped organize my music library pretty efficiently
A few suggestions from my side!
1) Since you'd be pulling the source from the Bay (Great For FLAC) mostly, wouldn't it be difficult to find all the songs in 320 KBPS? It'd be better if you use Deezer (Deezloader) as backup.
2) If one is downloading from the Bay, there is no guarantee that all the songs will be tagged properly and with the right Album Artwork! So it would be great if you could implement an Android app called AutomaTag! It automatically tags the song based on the file/song and artist name. I don't know if it's even possible but just a suggestion!
3) Please don't use YouTube because all the audio downloaded from it is shit (192 KBPS at the max). So best thing to do would be avoiding it as a source.
4) Someone in the comments mentioned about Indian Songs. I'd suggest Saavn as a source as they have 320 KBPS streaming. Suggesting this because people have cracked this app to make songs available offline and 320 KBPS audio streaming which are actually paid! Consider it as the Spotify of India! Again don't know if it's possible just suggesting!
5) Is this going to be based on the node.js server type? If yes, it can be made to work on Android with Servers Ultimate just like Deezloader does!
And finally thank you! If you can pull this off it'd be great tool!
Automatag works for me. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fillobotto.mp3tagger You have to go into the albums tab and edit each of the split albums to generally share the main info...so if you have chance the rapper and the album is supposed to have 15 tracks but it broke it into 7 tracks, and 8 tracks as a whole different album which really is wrong. Start by making sure album name is the same, album artist is the same, year is the same, genre is the same. Then it will all merge together correctly as the same project.
This has always been a pain in the ass when downloading mp3s. Even worst when it's a various artist, compilation, best of etc. Some ppl just dont care and like their music all over the place. Lots of apps can automatically fix them, but if you use datpiff or mymixtapes for example it wont find nothing because its not commercial, billboard material.
Also if you use PC theres this program i used called mp3tag. It does everything the automatag does but way more and easier since its not in tabs. http://i.imgur.com/Ru6aO23.jpg
The best player I've found was the n7 music player https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n7mobile.nplayer It lets you edit the tags within the app itself, only thing is the album art doesnt embed itself into the mp3 so if you used another player it wont look neat anymore. The screenshots on the playstore are old it looks more material designed now.
Also, some music players like Poweramp (which I highly recommend) support meta editing within the app.
I use this app to change tags on my music.
I'm personally a fan of automatag, although I haven't tried many others.
