I've been burned by a phone convo before. Now I use this app so I know verbal agreements are documented. Automatically records, and can back up to the cloud.
Edit: I know the laws are a bit ambiguous depending on location, but I will balance the legality of a recording if it ever gets to that point. I'd rather have a recording and not need it, than need it and not have it.

If you don't, call a friend who has an android phone and then conference in your voicemail and have them record it.
If it's legal in your state, you can use a recording app for phone calls and/or turn on your video recorder on your phone when he's with you to capture audio at least.
I'd also take actual photos of every inch of the apartment when your stuff is out showing the condition you're leaving it in. Make sure you especially get all the plumbing areas, the holes where the bats got in, interiors of appliances (raise the stove top and photograph that if applicable). Good luck he's an asshole and I hope you shut him down.
Edit: This is a great, easy to use call recorder. If your state doesn't allow one-party recording, just state at the beginning of the call that you're recording it and then it should be legal I believe (since you've given them the opportunity to continue or hang up.)

Just a note, NZ only needs one party to consent to phone calls being recorded, so installing a call recording app is a good idea.
I record almost every call with this app. It's been rather useful for 'keeping a good memory', and can help "remind" someone of the specifics discussed earlier.
Sure some of the calls can't be used in court, but it can help prevent things going that far, as most people aren't out to overtly screw you over. Even if it does go to court, it's all a lawyer's problem anyway.
If OP does go this route, there are apps that do that automatically. No need for speakerphone or any of that jazz.

I use the app Automatic Call Recorder for android. It will record every incoming and outgoing call, this includes when you check your voicemail. Also has the option to automatically back up the recordings to cloud storage. I use it for almost all my calls so I never miss any important details.

I use the free version. It's somewhat feature-limited and only holds so many recordings, so if you want to save one be sure to export it (you can email them to yourself) before it gets overwritten. Also, by default it doesn't record when you're using a bluetooth device so be sure to change that.

This is what I use. It's free and like the name says it automatically records all incoming and outgoing calls and keeps them for a certain amount of time or you can save them to your phone. I paid the $7 or $8 for the automatic saving and cloud storage features. It's not necessary to buy the paid version at all since you can save them yourself for free but it saves me from having to think about it.
If you have an iPhone then I'm sure there are apps that do the exact same thing.

I've been using "auto call recorder" for over a year with good success, stock vs995. It only record the past 200 calls for free, but I have drop box and drop sync set up to constantly copy my call so I have them all.

Adding on to this, you can install an app like Auto Call Recorder to help "jog their memory" when they keep harassing you.
Most states are "One Party Consent", meaning if YOU know you're being recorded, it's OK. Even then, those calls usually start with a "this call is being recorded for quality" bit, so they're aware too. It's just strange how often they lose their half of the recording as soon as you ask them for it...
Should they go over the line, or make you an offer that you'd rather they not forget, it's evidence in your favor. At the very least it's great note taking too when you're not near a pen and paper.

Also, Pennsylvania is a two-party consenting state, that if you do call, you have to get the other person to consent to the recording, otherwise you may be liable.

I use an app called Call recorder to record all my phone calls. It comes in handy when talking to work and getting a list of jobs to do.
If you use that app and call your friend's voicemail it will record it for you.
If you're on android there are apps that do this automatically once you've set them up.
I use "Automatic Call Recorder", it saves to local storage, and the paid version saves something like 2000 files before it starts writing over old ones. (Provided you have enough storage space)
Although it looks like the app has diminished in quality recently, there are other options available.

I know that in the Netherlands it is fine to record a call. You can use the call for private use. You are not allowed to publish the recording (without consent from the other party). Recorded calls can be used for court cases.

I use this one. I have to make a lot of calls for work and this has yet to fail me, recording through my bluetooth headset as well. Even recorded a 1-hour conference call flawlessly.

Best example of its use: When I moved into my apartment, I was getting ATT mails 1-2 times a month. Not just thin envelopes, but thick enough that combining it with a couple other envelopes, the mail carrier would send the mail back (twice that I recall). I don't have a box, a door slot on my apartment that has a "gaurd?" to force mail to go down, and no one can peer in.
ATT was trying to sell me "High Speed Internet at 15Mbs!" which was their fasted in my area and required that I also buy a phone line, which its competitor Suddenlink on coax at the time was 35Mbs, their fastest then, now 100Mbs. It took me about 2 years (don't ask why I went so long) of calling ATT to stop sending me the junk, they say I'm "now" removed and will take 2-3 months. On the last call I stated I had been told that same story multiple times, I have recorded the last call, and recording this call. Next will be going up the chain. Never got an ATT letter again. Three years and counting. Either they got the message, or they stopped mailing my group of apartments.

Remember to UPLOAD IT TO A CLOUD STORAGE SERVICE. This will prevent data or audio from being destroyed when she tries destroying the evidence. Maybe set your phone up to automatically save recordings in the Google Drive folder, so it automatically uploads them even if the police take the phone away while you are being falsely arrested.
Tell them to (e)mail it to you. Otherwise tell them to stop calling you or you will sue for harassment. If they put it on your credit they have 45 days to prove its a real debt or it is removed. If they dont sue them. Your in a win-win situation if they cant provide you with a bill.

the thing is i don't use that app as i have inbuilt call recorder , and yes I'm on android 8.0.0 , but that app is pretty popular in call recording apps , try this free ad version of that app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder ) if you like it buy it
The LG V20 VS995 might work, I have no idea about WiFi call recording, but it works on my US996 for VoLTE using this. (The US996 can't do WiFi calls on Verizon)
It does have USB-C though. I just bought extra cables and adapters from Amazon.

There's an app I use called Automatic Call Recorder, it records all incoming & outgoing calls & lets you save the ones you want. You can change the settings to record/exclude specific numbers & I believe that if you connect your phone to a computer, you can download them too.
I used to have this built in to the default dialler with my old LG, and I wanted similar functionality with my S7. Not sure if you're on Android or IPhone, but for Android this app works really really good for automatically recording calls in the background and saves them to cloud. I've noticed no extra battery being used for it too so it's really good on resources. I had to start usin for work cause I'll sometimes get phone calls with directions to do something where it's loud (from a landline so texting isn't possible), and have to relished to it when I'm somewhere quieter. Wonderful tool.....

Appears to be the real version of the app posted by someone else in this thread. I've used it across quite a few Samsung note phones, and V10/V20. Only time I ever had consistent issues was with the V10. Just wasn't compatible for some reason and the call quality was always horrible on the recordings(my side only, regardless of changing options). But with the V20, it's back to perfect again. Calls are clean and clear on both sides for recordings, and works without any issues.
Edit: Saw the other guys added post and he posted up this same one on the second message. So I agree with him. It's a great app for exactly what you're looking for. I set it to bring up a quick menu after every call so I can just delete the recording immediately if I don't need it.

I also use it for notes to detail a conversation I have that needs followup. its perfect. If you are in a state or the other caller is in a state that requires consent, please make sure that you enunciate that the call is being recorded for it to have legal weight.

Android phone? If so, i use Automatic Call Recorder. It records most calls (you can exempt the contacts you don't want recorded) but sometimes the recording volume is low.
I use it in Ohio where only one party needs to know you're recording the call. Make sure to check the laws in your state to see if recording without the other party's knowledge is legal.

It's not really useful for telemarketers unless you really want to ruin the day. I find it useful for work though.

Be careful using this on a day-to-day basis, as if you do not explicitly inform the other party you could be in violation of some ugly wire-tapping laws. But most customer service lines begin with the "this call may be recorded for training purposes" which should put you in the clear, however IANAL.
I'm going to take this moment to tell people that the Android app Automatic Call Recorder works beautifully. It is able to record both me and the person I am talking to with great clarity. I suggest anyone using an Android phone at least try it out before talking with Verizon reps, and use it to record conversations with them.
If you mean the flip phone, there isn't much that can be done besides recording the conversation with a computer microphone or something. If you mean the smartphone, maybe try the Automatic Call Recorder. It works really well for me, but I am on Android 5.0, and I don't think the RAZR smartphone is.

Xiaomi has inbuilt call recording. I think Samsung too does have inbuilt one. In an old mobile, I used to have this and turned on the automatic recording feature. It seemed to work fine iirc.
I suppose OP could always use a call recorder to capture individual calls to the Voicemail (*86).
That's both tedious and "lossy" in terms of sound quality though. I would highly suggest popping the SIM into an Android phone with Google's stock app preinstalled (Pixel or Sony), then do this: * Enable Visual VM within phone settings * Wait for messages to populate * Tap each message to reveal a sharing button (see screenshot)
From there, you can choose to save as a file, send as email, etc. The format is .amr, which you can play back on most audio players.
Any voicemail transcription is lost of course.

Entiendo que aca en chile no. Lo "mejor" sería grabar la llamada (yo ocupo esta, es automatica, para cuando me llaman de compañias a wear). Cuando llame, dejenle claro que si no para van a ir con la PDI. Obviamente no va a parar de wear, y ahi es cuando le pasan la grabacion a la PDI y era, a dejar que ellos hagan su pega a ver que pueden hacer, total deberian ser capaces de preguntar directo con la compañia.

NTA I would also suggest downloading a recording app, like this to record any conversations you might have with him as evidence. IANAL so IDK if that is allowed in court, but an atty might know better. And better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
I don't have a suggestion for iOS, I do have one I use for Android. Results vary from Android to Android model phones. I've used three different phones, all three I've had to tweak the quality of the sound, and different results with switching speaker, bluetooth, and normal. My new phone had/has (still figuring it out) one sided recordings if I switch in or out of bluetooth.

Docsis 3 or 3.1 will do. There's models using a type of chip I suggest avoiding. I don't recall which, however there are mentions through this subreddit that suggest which to use, which to avoid.
As for routers, I've been happy with TPLink and NetGear.
Cube app started to have so quiet sound from other side, that I can't (even with the communication with their support) solve the problem on my Huawei P Smart 2019, with android 10 installed, so I've stumbled upon accidentally, after many searchings, on this great recorder, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder . With wav format and with loudness on maximum, I have now so decent sound from both sides. Also, the version on google play store is one version older than the version from App Gallery from Huawei, HMC, and I think that this app is specifically great on Huawei phones, because of it.
Of course, only bluetooth calls are not recorded, like on any other recorders, no matter in the settings we have the option. But that's normal today.

I too was looking for something proprietary but no dice. This works well and puts a record button beside my phone calls as I dont want to record every call just important business calls.

Depending on your state, or states you visit as you mentioned you were driving, you can record your calls, as long as you look up their call recording laws.
I know in KS and OK, and at some point someone said also TX, as long as one party of the recording is aware, all is good. You don't even have to say or signify you are recording.

I use the free version, and does just fine. The only hiccup I've had, is when I switched bluetooth headsets, I had to change audio profiles, as only one side of the conversation was recorded. No clue how long that went before I noticed, and that wass my only conclusion.
I've never had a call back. Exception of the automated call, saying my internet was back up, an hour or so after I already found out.
If you're on Android, I use Automatic Call Recorder. Just set it up to record automatically. Then save calls you feel is needed. Old recordings will roll over. Bonus points: If you use a cloud storage (dropbox, one drive, iCloud, etc.), you can have it upload saved recordings. Note: Test the audio settings. When I switched phones, the default settings that worked on my old phone, didn't work on my new phone, resulting in one sided conversations. Not the App's fault, it's a hardware and OS limitation from what I've found out.

Specifically the other person's audio, if it is working right listening to a recording should seem like you are just on a teleconference with yourself and the other person at reasonably equal volumes

Haven't had it installed for a while (used to use it all the time) but when I last used it it could do what you want.

Mas no meu caso faça de maneira diferente, o meu tlm antigo era um samsung que tinha a opção de gravar chamadas, e agora tenho o oneplus 5 que tb tem essa opção, não uso nenhuma app. Apenas para enviar para o dropbox é que uso o foldersync, todas as noites envia-me as gravações de chamadas que tiver no telefone para o dropbox e apaga-as da memória interna pa desocupar espaço.

if you have an android phone download the app called Automatic Call Recorder it is free and I use it, it's really easy, you just install it and it starts to record all the calls, you can even set some filters like "don't record a given contact".
if you have an Iphone or a windows phone there surely is an app, maybe not free, but even then it shouldn't be that expensive.
Anyway, in some countries it is illegal to record people AND pass the recorded audio to someone else, so you can only show the recorded audio if the police or a judge ask for it or if the recorded person gives you the permission, but anyway it shouldn't be illegal to record any call you recieve or do and KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.

in some countries you MUST accept those calls and go to work, but there are set limits to how many hours you can work, and also limits about how many "non work hours" you need to have between shifts.

I use Automatic Call Recorder on my Android phone without rooting. You have to use speakerphone to get it to record the other party, but it works well.
When you get any of the calls from blocked/unknown numbers, document it in a notebook (exact time, date, etc) and take a screenshot of the call log from your phone. Rename the screenshot with the time and date of the call to correspond to your journal.
If you have a smart phone, just download Automatic Call Recorder. It will automatically record any incoming or outgoing calls, this includes when you call to listen to your voicemail.
Depending on your state, you might not even need to ask to record it.
It is legal in my state, so I use Automatic Call Recorder. On a few occasions I have used it to keep my telecom company from taking advantage of me.

Hope it works for you. UI is pretty intuitive but it take a bit of tweaking to get the settings you want. Oh and I'm sure it's obvious but it's a battery killer so it's imperative you don't record all your calls.
There are so many bad reviews for this app saying that it doesn't work. I don't know why you chose it over something like this.

Also check your local laws, in my state as long as one of the two people on the call know they are being recorded (which can be myself) it's legal.
If he fights you over E-mail, forward the e-mail up the chain.
If he fights you in person, have a random neutral coworker act as a witness. An Audio recorder may be a good idea.

I have an automatic call recorder installed on my phone. It... automatically records calls. You can configure it to upload them to your dropbox or other online storage. The one I use is Android only, but you can find one for apple as well.

This app has been a ton of help in my dealings with the Insurance Companies & others.
1: Don't fuck drunk chicks.
2: Don't drink yourself under the table. If you don't already know your limits with alcohol, learn it at home with your parents around. I think they'd appreciate your honesty as to why you're raiding their booze. Most parents are familiar with at least one story of a kid who doesn't know their limits, drinks themselves stupid and then either ends up dead, or hospitalized with potentially permanent consequences.
3: Have a sober wingman if possible.
4: Do not bring her home drunk. Don't go to her place if she's drunk.
5: Never delete any exchanges between you and her. Download an app like this one and record all spoken phone conversations with her too. While it won't save you from the kangaroo courts of a college if you can prove there's no substantive evidence that a rape ever occurred, this only really works at public universities but I think it applies to private ones as well if they respect title 9, you can absolutely sue the university and the records indicate that universities typically lose these cases.

Nota 2: NO es necesario que informes en ningún momento que estás grabando la llamada, tu puedes grabar la llamada puesto que estás participando en la comunicación, si lo deseas, puedes decir "está llamada está siendo grabada para fines y efectos legales" inmediatamente cuando la contestadora te dice "Bienvenido a Telcel, la mejor compañía, por favor ponga atención al menú 1 para contratar....", no es necesario repetir la advertencia al operador, al no colgarte la llamada aceptan tácitamente su grabación (no necesitas consentimiento en realidad, es sólo una cortesía).

Cuando te llamen deja que se identifiquen como telcel, inmediatamente despues di la fecha y hora actual y el numero del que te marcan durante la llamada, diles que estas grabando, pregunta de que call center te estan hablando, identificación del operador y finalmente diles que ya no quieres mas publicidad. Recuerda que no tiene caso ser grosero con los operadores, a ellos nada mas les pasan el teléfono ya sonando, hacer todo esto solo te debe de tomar uno o dos minutos.

If you are forgetful or make important calls that you need to be able to reference again later use a call recording app. Just remember if you're in a two-party notification state you must tell the other call you're recording them. I have a couple of medical issues that cause me horrible memory problems, so this app has been a huge help to me.

Not OP, but for Android I use this recorder from Appliqato. It records conversations pretty easily, and a minute is about 100 kB (using the default format; depending on the recording format you specify, it could differ). You can easily have it not record conversations with specific people by specifying which contacts you don't want it to, so it's pretty good.
I've also heard good reviews about C Mobile's app, but I haven't tried it.
For iOS, I'd recommend NoNotes' app. It works fairly well, but I prefer the UI of the Android ones better. Still, it's probably the best free call recording app on the iOS market.

I can give the latter app a try but the first app I linked to I have tried and that doesn't work on a Galaxy S4 from T-Mobile. The list of non-supported devices says it doesn't work on a Galaxy S4 from Verizon but if it's anything like the first app then it's not going to work any better..

Step 6. Hit render and wait for it to render out.
Step 7. Upload the resulting video file to YouTube.
