The link in this OP didn't work for me on mobile, even putting it in the browser.
And when I finally got it, I can't run it. Crashes immediately, I sent in a report
For the lazy Android users: [link]
Edit: For those wondering, I had found it on Reddit's twitter.
An app announced on Facebook, seemingly invisible on Play Store, was eventually found through a bit.ly link on Twitter.
Edit 2: Fixed
About time it is released. Signed in on Android, liking it so far. Play store link for the lazy.
Edit: Confirmed Android also gets 3 months free gold for signing in on it.
The official reddit app is so good!
Just kidding. It's worth downloading for 3 months free gold though, and it seems to load things faster than reddit is fun so it has potential once features arrive.
EDIT: on official Android app, and I do not visit "adult" subs. See Play store app at [link]
Contacted the ad department - email at [link].
I expect they won't do jack, but it was worth a try. Totally cool that underage kids might be referred to the site by Reddit! It's all good! /s
While I am contributing to the problem for now, I'm hoping this gets picked up and people pressure their stupid, unethical ad team.
Please let me know if you have a better Reddit company contact to send this too. Thanks!
Heads up - three months of reddit gold free if you download one of reddit's newly released iOS and Android official clients.
I have a way for arranging gold for New Yorkers.
Hey mates, Install the Official Reddit app for Android or for iOS . Login through this app and get three months of reddit gold.
Very High Energy State.
Anyone have a playstore link? The redirects in the announcement post don't appear to be working for me.
Found it, [link]
Literally crashes on launch, before I can see it. That's hilarious!
This is how I installed it (from PC, except step 1):
Not RPDR related, but I thought I'd be fishy to the fish and share this here. If you sign in using Reddit's new app, they will give you 3 Months Free Reddit Gold.
I searched it in the play store and could not find anything.
I got this error message when trying to install it after visiting the page directly:
> No eligible devices for app install.
> This item cannot be installed in your device's country.
What app? I tried installing Reddit: The Official App and upon opening the application was met with an error message "Unfortunately, Reddit has stopped".
It is quite sad that despite the fact that I have a decent tablet (Samsung Galaxy Pro Tab), I get an error message. If this is not repaired by the end of the week, many redditors will be very unhappy that they missed out on reddit gold.
I am lucky and have friends who will let me borrow their IOS phone to use it, but not everyone is as welcoming with their phone and is more territorial.
The application itself requires some labour, but I can survive with that as long as reddit can get it working for everyone.
Didn't want to make a new thread about this, but if anyone cares reddit is giving out free reddit gold for 3 months if you install their new official reddit app and login. Why? I'm not honestly sure, maybe you want the features or you want the app? I don't really have much use for it yet, but figured I would mention it here, I just got mine.
You can't seem to find the offical app while searching on Google Play store, but here is the link for android: [link]
iOS as well apparently: [link]
No affiliated with reddit and just a random deal I saw today, cheers.
Not enough pixels xD
That Gilding I trophy though.
I wish I could gild you, but did you know that you can download the Official Reddit app to get gold?
Not sure if sarcasm. But here: iOS (well, iPhone) and Android
So you have never heard of this official app, released by Reddit Inc. until I mentioned it? Its one of two apps that pop up when you search for "Reddit" on the Play Store. The other being RIF.
Reddit Is Fun is an unofficial app, btw.
Reddit is giving away 3-Months of Reddit Gold when you download
Reddit: The Official App
(Android or iOS) .
*After opening the app and logging into your account, you will receive the confirmation of 3-Months of Reddit Gold in your inbox.
Here's the link if any one is interested Reddit Android app / Reddit iOS app
Yep, here's the Play Store link. Let me just find the Apple App Store link too.
Edit: I added both links to my original text post.
Just sort of a PSA here. The official Reddit app had released on Android and iOS. So, for all you mobile users that want to give it a shot I'll link it. It also gives you 3 months of gold free when you sign in on the app. I'm not a huge fan, but some of you might prefer it. If not, at least you'll get free gold.
Edit: some words

Reddit doesn't provide media hosting for its users so this isn't a feature that should be expected from any Reddit client, including the official app.
That said, there is at least one Reddit app that attempted to upload the IMG to a ghosting door for you ~~but I can't remember which it was.~~ I remember it failing a lot though.
If anyone is interested, Reddit just released an official Android app.
Installing it now to see what it's like. So far I've been very happy with Reddit Is Fun, if you need an alternative Android app for Reddit.
Reddit for Android. I think it is the official app. [link]
the app says "can't view community" in a popup over where I can clearly see the sub in the background.
edit: I think it is just the app that is busted. I can't view any sub with it.
I am pretty sure it is just the official reddit app. It is available on Android and iPhone. It is also has a nice night mode.
I'm looking. In the meantime I thought I'd share this here. Reddit is giving 3 Months Free Reddit Gold for signing in using their new official app. App info at www.reddit.com/mobile/download
Yup, when I had my older phone RiF was the only Reddit app it could support, images did work for me, though.
Did you try the official app?
> It was pretty late in this thread that we established that the app is the issue, and not the way that I choose to do the shrug fac
No, the app is the reason you don't see the way you do the shrug face is wrong. You are doing the shrug face wrong on reddit. Your app just doesn't show you that.
> Btw you keep referring to “my position”, but when I said my perspective, I meant literally what I see from my eyes, not my perspective as my opinion.
You said "my position", that's why I used that phrase.
> So don’t get me wrong, I do really appreciate you trying to help, but how you approached it before didn’t feel as much like helping as what you’re saying now.
What about my first three comments weren't helping? Where I described what to post, and what it looks like, when I elaborated that yours was missing an arm, or when I went to extra lengths to show it to you in an image?
I genuinely don't know how what I said couldn't be taken as help. Was it just cause I said yours was wrong that you didn't take it as help?
Are you using android or iPhone? I can tell you how to take a screenshot if you care. I haven't heard that the official reddit app has an issue with displaying markup. It definitely doesn't have problems opening image links. Are you sure you're using the official app? If you're using an iPhone, is it the one here? If android, is it the one here?
I'm more surprised about how can you keep that much Gold lol
Also how did you insert an image like that? Can i use multiple instead of only one?
Edit : Nvm, it's from an app, and i think it can't upload more than one pict in a post.
What do you all think of it? If you could leave me reviews of what you honestly think of the app it would really help me decide whether or not I should download it and try it out.
It was launched yesterday. That's why you don't know about it. On Android, On iOS
I know it's not original but the official Reddit app description nails this pretty hard.
>We’re not saying Reddit is like all your favorite apps put together. But if we were saying that, we’d tell you it has:
>• the trendy headlines of Twitter
>• the educational content of Quora
>• the viral pics of Memebase and Imgur
>• the jokesters of Tumblr
>• the lols of 9GAG and theCHIVE
>• the cringeworthy personal stories of FML and Fail Blog
>• the rage comics of fourchan
>• and the powerful, human stories found only on Reddit.
I can't afford to buy you gold, so here's a link to the Reddit android app instead. If you install that and log in you'll get 3 months free gold.
As a note for those desperate for reddit gold, if you have an iOS device handy you can get 3 months of gold for trying out the new reddit app this week.
Edit: I'm told it also works for android
^^^Also ^^^I'll ^^^ban ^^^anyone ^^^voting ^^^against ^^^Mikan ^^^^^jk
Here's a link for Android on Google Play. So far I like it, it takes some getting use to. Plus you get three months Reddit Gold for free for downloading it within its first week.
Some good news not related to baseball; if you download the new official Reddit app on iPhone or Android and log in with it this week, you get 3 months of Reddit gold for free.
(Not trying to spam, just thought Yankee friends would want to know)

Can confirm. Check reddit app product page, click install, click on the choose a device dropdown box, note all your devices and see that the failure is due to region locking.
Seriously, come on reddit.
In other news, I mostly tried to do this for the gold. Not gonna lie.
Everyone has their favorite way of browsing reddit. If you happen to use the official reddit app, you may notice that our look is no longer default!
On a side note, I finally got rid of the center text-align on the self submissions. I'm not sure why the theme's author thought they would be a nice touch but I often found it difficult to use. I'm sure a lot of you did as well.
That's all from me. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
I'm using the official reddit app by reddit inc.
To clarify, is that the official Reddit app (Apple version and Android version), or is it an app made by external third-party developers?
Its only available in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
Se effettuate il login sulle app ufficiali di reddit che sono appena lanciate, vi regalano 3 mesi di gold.
(quella per Android al momento fa cagare)
Reddit: The Official App by reddit
The Play Store link might not lead directly to a download page though; I can't be for certain because I'm on an iPhone right now.
iOS confirmed to have region locking. Android region locking status is currently unknown. Feel free to update if you find the Android app to be locked in your region.
Note: Installing and logging in during the first week from the launch date gives you 3 months free of Reddit Gold
Posted as an article for those who wanted to read a little bit about it before going to grab it. Credit to /u/armando_rod and /u/AgentX5000 for the link to the Play Store page.
Read the mod post here
Play Store Link
I did it from the website and had it sent to my phone. I followed the link from the post.
Okay, you have too many negatives in your subject, but I get what you're asking. The app was just released - like, this morning - and might not have hit all markets yet. It might not be available for your device. There might not be a licensing agreement for the UK yet.
Here is the direct US link: [link] No idea if it will work for you or not, even if you change the .com to a .co.uk
Off topic FYI: If you guys install the official reddit app, they give you 3 months of gold
I don't do iPhone so I can't link ya.
Download the new Reddit app for iOS or Android within the first launch week and receive 3 months of free Reddit Gold!
Once downloaded you will receive this message in your inbox:
Thank you for using the Reddit mobile app! As a thank you for logging in during launch week, you've been gifted 3 months of Reddit Gold.

Posted this in the /r/codcompetitive free talk friday but I'll copy and paste here.
Why not just get the actual reddit app?
Or try finding apks or iOS files for Alien Blue online.
Crashed immediately for me. Didn't even open. Cyanogenmod 11M12 on a galaxy S3. (android 4.4)
Also here's the direct link to the app: [link]
The one posted doesn't work from reddit is fun.
Or you could uninstall what i am assuming to be Clean Master which is riddled with ads
There's an official app for Reddit now check it out
The Strangely Region Locked Official Reddit App?
Gheez I have to do the work so people know of it ;)
(Thanks to /u/Cylindrical418 for pointing out its region locked)
Reddit is the official reddit app, developed by the reddit developers (or outsourced, I don't really know). Anyways, it just came out on iOS and Android last month or so. Before that there were many reddit applications available for you to use if you didn't want to use the mobile reddit site.
When the official Reddit app launched it gave you 3 free months of gold so lots of people downloaded it just for that, but the app is lacking some features and functions that other third-party apps provide so at least judging by comments on /r/Android a lot of people don't currently use it. It has received a few updates since launch and even at launch I personally found it rather smooth and simple to use but it did lack a few features. I haven't tried it out much since then.
There are a lot of reddit apps available in the Play store, Reddit is Fun is just one of them (though I personally use it on my phone and tablet and wouldn't want anything else). Best advice is to try them all and pick the one you like the most or swap between two or three if you are so inclined.
or if you are on mobile, use the official reddit app
Download the new Reddit app for iOS or Android and receive 3 months of free Reddit Gold!
There is nothing us mods can do about that unfortunately.
Have you downloaded a reddit client app for your device? There are plenty of 3rd party apps, but Reddit has there own 'official' one now too.
All of them should have notification ability.
This feature allows Sync for Reddit to handle push notifications which are only possible by first enabling them in the official Reddit app and keeping it installed on your device.
Push notifications provide near-instant notification for mentions of your username, your private messages, replies to your comments, and replies to your posts. These can be configured to your liking in the official Reddit app.
You have to enable push notifications for each user account separately in the official Reddit app.
In Sync for Reddit, change the Settings/Messaging option labeled 'Periodically check for new messages' to 'Off' when using this feature.
