This is my app, and i am willing to share source code of my app to show that SDK's are from Samsung's website. Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.packagedisabler
This is app by that guy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler You can see that it is recently posted to Google Play and adress is same that was on his old account. Which was banned recently by Google.

Adhell was taken out of development, as was Adhell 2, however BK Package Disabler on the Playstore for 1.49 can disable any app at all (even ones that are needed for functionality. Be extremely careful). Does not require root. The original app, Package Disabler Pro, is a bit more buggy and not updated as often. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
There was also a project called SABS, however Samsung decided to be a dick and call it off, which may be what happened to Adhell.
Pretty much all of what you are talking about is called bloatware and it's why more and more people are steering clear of buying phones through a carrier. Samsung and your carrier get kickbacks for installing 3rd party software and making it non-removable. That sucks, and it's not an "android" problem it's a carrier/manufacturer problem. You can buy directly from samsung and get the unlocked version and it comes with much less software, but there will still be a few issues.
For a solution, there are apps like these that can disable apps (be careful on what apps you disable though, you can mess up parts of the phone, follow a list. You can try to root your device and remove the software or try a custom ROM. In the future vote with your wallet and buy a phone that doesn't have bloatware.
Tip from a fellow first time Samsung user: you can use a package disabler application to disable the Samsung keyboard (granted you have the one you want to use installed and in-use). This app seems to be the best choice at this time.
Yes, however it's for samsung only.
I use this one tho.
You can disable bloatware using a package disabler: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
But I have to ask, what's the point in buying a Galaxy S7 then disabling all the features? Why not just keep the Nexus 6P.
After getting the update to Android Marshmallow it stopped working for me. I emailed the developers multiple times with no answer.
I gave up and switched to a different app. I now use BK Package Disabler which works great. I do miss the Tasker support that Package Disabler Pro had.
BK Disabler does have a list of "suspected bloatwear" that you can add apps to that list or remove them if you don't think it's bloatwear and a function to "Disable all bloat" and "Enable all bloat" at once.
Of cause, you can use Cardboard app with S7 via Google CardBoard Before using with Cardboard you need to disable "Gear VR service" by using this application WITHOUT ROOT https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler And enable Gear VR service when you want to use Gear VR Hope this help
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
try that
that link go directly to playstore
You can disable the bloatware without root, and you can also use Substratum themes without root (not sure if it works on Oreo, but it does on Nougat). I use this to disable things (there are free ones too):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
I haven't used Substratum themes in a while but this addon will make it work on Nougat at least. I've used it and it works: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=projekt.sungstratum
Sure: 1. I got this app installed ( it will install a second app that serves as a plugin) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler . 2. after everything is installed you should see something like this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/e_oCzr2KUhnB3O4hKuqfTbIpgABzQ3kSG_8bCe7yFxhfPjmgzVModX_flB-yGaO6QE9h=h900-rw 3. you need to change the tab from bloatware to system and here you should see: "Bixby Home, Global Action, Service, Vision, Voice, Voice Stub" 4. click on them and that's all.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en Once in app, go to system, software update, then clear data on the updater.
After that it will take a minute or so before you can request an update, but it will actually check for update rather than reply with cached response.
Personally I'd try BK Package Disabler instead; it costs a bit more, but you get more features. Sounds like setup is similar.
LG Package Disabler was already pulled once and by the sounds of it everyone who'd bought it was SOL, why take the chance?
I use BK Package Disabler, it's $2.49 but you can look up guides from people on what to disable. It makes it much faster to disable packages if u import an XML file they exported straight from the app.
Funny that I did the same and couldn't find it even on my purchase history. I've searched for it on Google but the one I found was an old version and wouldn't work. There's another app that people say works HERE but it's also a paid app unfortunately.
They add too many features. People don't know how to select them and sometimes have everything running, then complaining the battery drains fast.
Two of the easiest are most efficient ways of increasing battery life on Android are for example disabling the Facebook app (just use the website via browser) and not having Location Services turned on at all times. The difference is very very obvious.
That's way too much. Time to wipe/reinstall and check what drains it unnecessarily (Facebook, location services, etc). I have a one year old S7 that still retains almost the same charge, but I disabled a lot of useless bloated apps (With BK disabler) and only have GPS on if driving.
With the great power to customize comes the great responsibility of picking only what is useful and disabling the rest.
I gave Bixby a try, for about two weeks.
It does some things really well, but at the end of the day it didn't offer the support for the apps I want to use.
This is what I have been using:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
It's called BK Disabler and I was able to 100% disable Bixby, Samsung Internet (Been using Chrome too long) and Samsung Messages (No gifs? No thanks)
It offers an option to remap but, like many, doesn't work 100%
So, for the time being I have a useless button. Bettrer that than Bixby.
You can try other app like "BK Package Disabler", It has [Running Services List] filter, help you can find out the running services and disable it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
Hey, I would recommend doing a fresh factory reset of the phone, and then getting package disalber. Gets rid of all that shitty bloatware without rooting. aside from that, we wait for marshmallow :|
And when you get it rolled back to a usable OS, disable updates with a package disabler.
I use BK Package disabler but I think it's no longer available. But this package disabler is still available and is looks almost exactly like what I've got.
Marshmallow for life, yo!
Not free, but worth every penny. I updated to Nougat, hated it, spent a week learning how to get it back to stock. Installed this little gem and I haven't seen an update notification since.
Their customer service told me exactly what to disable. Never had a problem with it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
Compared to mine, it's only a little bit less in terms or SOT. I get up to 5-5.5h of SOT with a full charge. Some people on this sub get 6, 7, or 8 hours, and I'm not sure how. There's some variability between units for sure.
Have you tried "BK manager"? It's a Samsung specific app disabler and can get rid of all that Samsung and carrier bloatware you might never use. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
Get BK Package Manager and disable/freeze whatever you don't need.
Root is an option for nouget only but in the end isn't worth it
BK Package Disabler if you live outside the US I'd probably recommend the SABS
Spend the 2 bucks and buy BK package Disabler from the play store and you can disable whatever Samsung crap you don't need.
I disabled everything to do with Bixby, everything to do with Facebook (which comes preinstalled. Even after disabling the app from the app drawer, some things still run). A bunch of things I wasn't using (nearby device search). Gear VR, Samsung Health. You can look through the list of the things that are running and using memory and of you aren't using them, just disable those services entirely!
> Samsung experience and Touchwiz launcher have background processes, a lot of them. A lot more than AOSP ROMS.
Package Disabler Pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
You can disable anything. Apps/Services/Background processes, anything. It's not the only app to offer these options, but it is the most well known.
If your argument is for how the phone comes out of the box, then I will go ahead and agree with you that touchwiz is bloated and slow.
We are Android users here, not Apple. We get to customize shit to our liking and in that case, you have always been able to disable anything you did not want trough apps like these on Samsung devices.
I stand by my point, bloatware is not an issue. Takes all of 10 minutes to run trough your phone's apps/services and disable what you dont want one time. There's even a 'Disable all samsung bloatware" option in many of these sort of apps that just disable ALL samsung features/services/extras if you want that.
Welcome to the club ;) The great thing I can think to do is download a package disabler like BK Package Disabler. You can download a file from here that you can load right into the app to safely disable a lot of bloatware. Anything you'd like to use like Bixby or Samsung Pay you can turn right back on! It's done wonders for my battery life after having the phone for a while. Enjoy your shiny new toy!
If you are comfortable using adb, you can disable anything:
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
If you prefer to use an app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
If you want to fully actually disable carrier bloat and get the same battery life (or better if you disable more stuff), have at it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
There are 1 or 2 other similar apps out there, but this one has Tasker integration.
Try these two apps together:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobizsystems.mdm
Once it's up and running you should be able to disable whatever you want.
It can disable useless apps that come bundled in Samsung ROMs. But one has to be careful not to disable key services or apps that might cause system degradation. Nice tool, there are several similar.
You actually can disable the T-Mobile app along with every other piece of bloatware. My phone has been much smoother ever since I disabled some unwanted apps. Look at these apps if you're interested.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro&hl=en
To Disable:
Step 1. Make sure your Bixby app is up to date. Press the Bixby Button to open Bixby Home. Select the settings cog. Uncheck "Open Bixby Home when you press the Bixby Key".
Step 2. Pull down notification shade, go to phone Settings, press three dots in upper right hand corner, change to "View as standard list"
Done. Bixby gone, no home, no voice. Just a vestigial button on the side of the phone. If you want to remap, it's slightly more complicated but still quite easy and takes less than 5 minutes.
To Remap:
Step 1. Download BX Package Disabler from the playstore.
Step 2. Search for "Bixby" inside Package Disabler. Disable everything except "Bixby Voice".
Step 3. Download bxActions Follow setup instruction inside the app. (Unlock the pro version for more remapping options like single press, double press, long press. As well as different Standard and Lock Screen actions.)
That's it. No more Bixby, make it do whatever you want. Launch Flashlight, activate Google Assistant...whatever.
He used this app to disable the samsung bloat. I've been using it for about a week on my note and it seems to be working fine. Have disabled all the bixby stuff.
You know, you can disable literally everything (like root) with BK Disabler nowadays. There's more apps like it but I think bk is the most popular.
Edit, oh wow BK isn't on the play store anymore. Edit, it is, just can't be found on my s8 anymore? Strange. Package Disabler pro then.
I use BK Disabler to disable anything Bixby related (and some other packages too). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=nl Used some remappers, but not anymore. I find them a security risk. Used one where i could just get into the phone, not using any of the locking mechanisms. I really really hope Samsung will make this button remappable with a future update.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
Package Disabler Pro also works for disabling packages but not for disabling services within packages (like IQservice). For that, you need BK, which I linked above. EZ Disabler used to do it also, but it's no longer under development.
For Samsung devices https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
And for Android devices (requires Device Owner enabled to work without Root) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.rootpackagedisablerfree
Hope this can help!

There is a solution, you need disable all Bloatware (Samsung default app), and unused app to save your battery I found in Google Play an application can do it WITHOUT ROOT https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
It's powered by clean master. But I don't think it connects to their (Cheetah Mobile) servers.
Anyways, you can disable it via BK Disabler or Package Disabler Pro.
Here's what you need to disable Screenshot
Using BK Disabler, you can also disable individual services of the apps, in case you want to...
I highly recommend BK Package Disabler
Not true. There are ways to disable apps on any device, and you can do it without root. Here is a summary that I had posted in another thread.
I use this free package disabler to disable the stuff I don't want. See the instructions on how to set it up as device owner. It was removed from the Play store for some reason, but still available here:
https://apkpure.com/root-package-disabler/com.kunkunsoft.rootpackagedisablerfree
If you prefer to stick to the Play store, BK package disabler is from the same dev and also supports device owner mode.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en
If you don't want to use device owner mode, then you can try this one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lgpd.pmanager&hl=en
Or if you prefer to do things manually instead of using an app, then you can use this procedure.
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/

Bk manager or adhell 3 both work.
BK Package Disabler is now called BK Manager, but it is still on play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
I am using BK Disabler to get rid of most of the crap.
BK Package Disabler works on the Oreo beta. Using it now.
bk disabler works great for me. I don't use any vr apps though.
On backup, I agree Google backup is super hit or miss. There is no pure replacement for TiBackup, so I've gotten used to manually exporting backups from my launcher and main widgets to Dropbox. Basic rule is that if I spend more than 10 minutes messing with settings, I'll make a config backup.
For uninstalling apps, again, so direct alternative. The closest is BK Disabler, which is similar to TiB's app freeze. So, when you're setting up a fresh phone, first see if you can uninstall, if not, open BK Disabler, select the app, disable it, disable its services, clear data, and make sure it's in the 'Bloatware' category. There are preinstalled macros/filters to mess with the 4 app categories (installed, system, bloat, favs). After using the phone for a while, remove the 'bloatware' apps you use from that category so you can just 'enable bloatware' when there's a system update and disable again after. I've accidentally done several updates on my S7 without reactivating the system apps and have not had any problems. You can also make widgets to toggle a custom set of apps. I haven't had to freeze apps I actually use, like in pre-Nougat, and just disable things I'll never use. The better permission options mean that even the Amazon app can be forced into submission with the right settings (first time I've seen that).
For ads, man, this part is killing me. Nothing as simple as AdAway right now. Knox has a built in firewall, which is what AdHell and Disconnect interact with. The Note 8 has a new version of Knox that hasn't been documented by Samsung, so these programs are dead until they release the updated API. So, you're stuck with apps that make a loopback connection to a VPN server on the phone, which blocks ads. It works okay usually, but will eat 2-10% of your battery, prevents you from using another VPN at the same time, and messes up app monitoring for things like data usage and battery life (the server process looks like it's doing everything). If you go this route, AdGuard is the one I used 2-3 years ago. Another option is to use the Samsung browser, Firefox, etc that have ad blocking built in or add ons.
You can block YouTube ads by installing the non-root version of iYTBP, but you might lose the special screen zoom and HDR. Full screen is fine, but the zoom that fills the entire screen and cuts off the top and bottom doesn't work.
And as a final reminder, tripping Knox actually blows a physical fuse, so be careful if you try to root. Also, remember that some of the NFC payment and banking apps will refuse to work on rooted devices and root-hiding apps/xposed modules can be hit or miss.
I have not rooted my Note 8 or S7, but did on a few past Nexus devices. Once Disconnect is updated the experience will be more tolerable. Oh, and haven't tried it yet, but Substratum apparently works without root, so you can look into that.
Good luck and happy customizing.
You can just disable it with a Samsung package disabler. I use this one
BK Package Disabler now support plugin for Tasker (enable/disable packages) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler
I have the ability to go back to marshmallow (I HATED nougat) I got the factory ROM for it and back to usable again.
I used Odin3 v 3.1.2.7 and did a LOT of research... unfortunately I didn't take any notes :/ But A quick google search will probably get you going. This has some instructions that look familiar, just skip step 1 "rooting your phone", and go to the factory downloads.
After I was done I used BK Package Disabler (about $5 and worth every penny) to turn off the "do you want to update?" notification that came up 2-3 times a day. I think it required the free BK Plugin to work properly.
Anywhoo, the BK people knew exactly what to disable to kill the updates.
You can probably do the same with Nougat.
Good luck!
I personally use this one
Edit: formatting
I disabled this stuff using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler&hl=en

Congrats now get yourself BK Package Disabler for bloat removal an added battery life.
This can kill it. It's what I am using.
Hello! I can do it with BK Disabler, screenshotthe only one i trust right now on my S8+ Install BK Package Disabler, then in the option, click on "Advance Disabler". You will find a field where you can disable the shut off. PS: I was using you're same app (Sleep As Android i imagine you used) as like you, i have problems to wake up. So i solved using an app that change alarm sound everyday and it's working!

I used this package disable version https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.packagedisabler but now it's hidden, I bought a license so I can still watch it ,it was working with Nougat ,sadly stopped working with Oreo update. There is a new package disabler version by policedeveloper in playstore but I haven't used it. I'm using adb commands to stop system apps but services still are working or I don't know how stop them... so it's not the same
Disable bloat. This app will let you disable system apps via Samsung's Knox.
You can use something like Bkdisabler to simply disable it. No root needed.
