Christ Google is so out of touch. No one wants your ugly ass knockoff iOS emojis, give us the blobs. I want the blobs. And imma get em too cause https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en has my back.
If you have root, use Emoji Switcher - this will allow you to see the emoji other people are using. I'm hoping that this paired with an updated Google Keyboard app will let non-nexus users see and use the emoji from Unicode 8.0
Edit: Like 3 people all said the same thing lol
If you want to switch between emojis for different devices (including iOS emojis), and you have root, check out Emoji Switcher . Works perfectly for me.
Definitely going to check out the BuildProp editor, using a Note 4 currently and the DPI is so high it feels like a phone made for the elderly (even with the smallest text).
While I don't have nearly as long of a list of apps for customization, Emoji Switcher (root required) was one of my biggest incentives to root my phone. This allows you to switch the theme of your emoji to iOS, stock Android, and a few others. With most of my friends having iPhones, and my phone not natively supporting all of the newest emojis, I got really fed up with not seeing all emojis. This app fixed that and now I don't have to live with ugly emojis or crossed out boxes in place of emojis that aren't supported by my phone.
Do you mean this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
If so, what bugs are you experiencing? I've been using this app for a long time and it's been working perfectly.
If you're rooted you can download the app from the playstore called "emoji Switcher" you can change it to any os emoji including ios 10 or 9. It works flawlessly for me.
edit: link for it : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
Boom Beach now uses the native fonts for emoji instead of trying to render them (and failing hard).
This screenshot was taken on my Note 3 - I installed the emoji fonts from iOS 10.3 and they're displayed perfectly!

If you're curious (and have Root) how to switch Emoji sets I highly recommend this free app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
There are apps to help you do that like
Emoji Switcher
Or
WhatsApp Emoji Changer
Check out emoji switcher on the Play Store. Requires root but you can choose a bunch of different emoji sets.
Edit...It's not an Xposed module.
If you have root, you can use the Emoji Switcher app to change your emoji system-wide to a few different types of emoji: Google, iOS, LG, Samsung, Twitter or Emoji One.
Or just buy a nexus device, since they have support for Unicode 8.0
linkme: emoji switcher.
Personally I think Samsung's look like ugly cartoons
edit: sorry I thought I was on /r/Android, I don't think the linkme bot works here.
here you go, I don't know if it works on marshmallow yet.
If youre rooted theres THIS
I also use Chomp SMS it has an option for Google/Vanila Android, iOS and Twitter emojis in the keyboard
You need to be rooted to replace the emoji font file (notocolor.ttf). Emoji Switcher (root) is a great app that switches out the font file for you. You have several options such as the ios emojis, samsung, and emoji one emojis.
If you use textra you can download the emoji pack to work within the app. But this will only allow you to use them inside the app.
If you want Apple emojis everywhere and always you can download an app called Emoji Switcher but you need to be rooted.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
I think you mean emojis, but you can't, because they're part of the Android OS and not SwiftKey.
If you have root access however, you can use an app like Emoji Switcher to change the emojis.
Do you mean something like this? It let's you change the emojis to several different flavours.
Easiest way is to download Emoji Switcher from app store, it can also be done manually but there's really no benefit to I'd recommend just using the app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
There an app called Emoji Switcher that you can use to change the emoji's. All you have to do is root the phone but that's not to hard.
There's no way to change the emoji style unless you root the phone and use the app called Emoji Switcher. Rooting is similar to jailbreaking an iPhone but it's easier than jailbreaking and won't void the 6P warranty in most of the countries. I prefer MM emojis to iOS emojis actually. IOS ones are a bit childish for my taste. But it's a matter of preference I guess.
Try Tasker. And if you don't mind enabling and disabling notifications manually. You can press and hold the app > drag it to 'App Info' which will open the application information page of native settings and click on 'Show Notifications' check box to disable or enable it.
LG includes their own for... some reason. Branding I guess. I've you've got root, I use Emoji Switcher (root), and it's been updated to include the MM emoji updates!
Ahhh, that must be it then. On my laptop (in Chrome), I see the google play controller but looking at reddit on my phone it is a snes controller that has come up!
I have just used this emoji app and changed the emoji set on my phone now. Looks okay now!
Emoji switcher (root) simplifies this process. Use it to choose ios, Emoji one, or a few other Emoji formats. But you do need the modified keyboard OP posted.
it's a system wide thing, as far as I understand it you basically have to change the "font" for the emjois.
If you have root, This app worked to switch them on my Note 4 but it requires root.
This seems to be the easiest way. Though if you don't like giving an app root access you can go here, pick whichever version of android's emojis you want (using the release branch - e.g. kitkat-release, lollipop-release, etc.), then on the branch page click the "tgz" link at the end of the commit line. This will download the whole branch as an archive - find the NotoColorEmoji.tff inside it and use it to replace the one on your phone (can't help with finding where on the system it's located exactly though as my phone isn't rooted)
It depends on your phone's brand though. It's like this on mine (some cheap China phone called Vernee Apollo). Some other brands have differently designed Emojis; Samsung, Google and LG for example have their own whole set of Emojis.
To take a step into the technical part, it depends on the font stored in your phone's /system/fonts/ folder, usually named NotoColorEmoji.ttf or similar. Also, if you're rooted, you can switch your emoji set with apps like this one
This is what I used to swap to the Nougat ones when I was on Marshmallow. It does require your device to be rooted but it has a good selection of character sets to select from and it's quicker than downloading the NotoColorEmoji.ttf and dropping it in your /system/fonts. I haven't used it for a few months but it should be decent.
Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, there's no real way to get no emojis/get iPhone emojis at a system level unless you root and use this app.
Emojis are counted as a system font, and are personalized by the device manufacturer. Samsung has created their own emoji "font" rather than using the Google version from vanilla Android.
It is possible to fix this and install the Google emoji "font", but it requires root.
Are you rooted? If so, you can use this app, called Emoji Switcher:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
It forces different emojis to display how you want them (Google (stock), Samsung, LG, and iOS).
If you dont have root, I'd try something like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=git.hub.font.free&hl=en
root the phone and use an app called Emoji Switcher
You can choose from a few different emoji sets, including Lollipop stock set
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
This app can convert the emojis, but you won't have the new ones. It will just replace the android ones with the ios versions of each.
I believe you have to be rooted to install new emoji packs. This app can be used once you're rooted to switch easily between different ones.
They're the worst! I haven't rooted my phone yet (waiting on an AT&T TOT), however this app is supposed to be able to swap your default emoji set.
If you're rooted use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
Edit: Or if you rather do it manually: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618523
I manually backed up the androidemoji file then used the app and it worked flawlessly.
In my opinion the International version has more developer support so I would roll with that. As for the emoijs there's always Emoji Swithcer
Can't find Microsoft Emoji's for system wide, they don't create all of the emojis which is probs why.
Play store link: Emoji Switcher I used to use this back on my old rooted devices don't think it's updated.
There's a way to change it, but you have to root your phone. I had used this app.
However, I regretted it doing it, because it tripped knox, and lost some features. Some apps have their own emoji button (like whatsapp) that show iOS Style.
It's just a font file. You can replace it in your file manager app and be good to go. I can understand not wanting to "over-complicate" things with emoji packs, but let's not go around saying the process itself would be complicated.
>why do it?
For example: Some Samsung users would prefer to have the choice of blobs... or just about anything but the Samsung emoji. The very reason this app exists
Mind you, we'll never have iOS (etc) Emoji "officially" on Android because of licensing.
To be fair, this is an issue. Not all apps have their own up-to-date emoji rendering built in, and sometimes you have no choice but to use a certain app for something. For regular texting this isn't an issue if you install something like Textra, but I use Google Voice a lot for texting, and for someone else who can't use the workaround I'm about to describe that could be a problem.
There actually is this app which can update the global emoji file on your phone, as well as install other emoji sets, but it requires root. Not a problem for me, but again, most people don't have root.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
You can either update your emojies to the latest nougat or change to another style (ie apple, one, twitter)...
To test go here:
https://eosrei.github.io/emojione-color-font/full-demo.html
Every single fucking emoji looks different on every fucking phone.
It should be a goddamn sprite sheet loaded according to a setting under Personalization and replaceable with a Play Store package. Emoji Switcher was great but I don't root my devices anymore.
Those are the stock Android emoji. My lg v20 uses them. If your phone doesn't, can root it and install this app to change them
Uninstall it and just install an older version APK (v 4.4 or whatever it was). and hopefully that fixes the issue. Or try installing the Emoji Switcher app and choosing whichever emoji set you want (you have iOS, android, LG and more maybe to choose from).
yeah, that's one of the biggest things I wanted to change honestly. I was so tired of seeing those boxes with an X in them. Now I have all emojis that iOS 9.1 has.
This is the app
Just download swiftkey from the play store which already has new emojis such as middle finger, and then use this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
to make them look like iOS emojis.
Implementing emojis can be done at the system level or at the app level. In Textra's case, the developers decided to support emojis that come in from the iPhone. The devs can make emojis look like whatever they want, but it would only appear that way in the app.
If you were to look at the same emoji in any other place other than Textra, it wouldn't look the same, if it showed up at all. A good example of this is how WhatsApp handles emojis.
You'll have to root your phone to do that. Install Emoji Switcher for changing the emojis after rooting.
Edit: formatting
Ahhh I understand and you're right, since you don't have much options it was faster. Indeed you're right, in my case, the options are interesting and cool :)
And for you Emoji "problem"... To be really honest, I read a lot about rooting and everything sounded nice, but I thought they aren't really necessary... until I mentioned how ugly those stupid Emojis are ._.
Seriously, wtf are those ugly yellow potatoes? From all Ejomis Stlyes which are available the Google version with the yellow mofus are the ugliest of all. I mentioned the only way to get rid of them and use better looking Emojis is to root and use an app like Emoji Switcher.
Sounds really stupid, but that was MY reason to root. Once I rooted I did some more research and mentioned there are a lot of very useful apps and possibilities. ;)
Currently I'm using the Emoji One Style, I think they're the most beautiful and stylish version of Emojis, they're flat and they have almost all Emojis, also the new one (mostly just iOS 9.2 has) :D
If you're not opposed to rooting, you can get the iOS emoji style from an app called Emoji Switcher, and you can remove bloatware with Titanium Backup.
I dislike the android emojis too don't worry. If you have root just install this app and choose iOS emojis and you'll have them. So much better I reckon - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
This app will work, but you need root in order to use it.
I used an app to switch my emoji style (it requires a rooted phone though)
emoji switcher always worked great for me.
You can use emoji switcher to change your emojis to whatever you want as long as you have root.
Yes, but only if you are rooted. You can download emoji switcher from the play store
Or use this app (root)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
You can use Emoji Switcher
You have to be rooted btw
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
But of course Apple users are the ones in the wrong and there needs to be an app for them that installs Android emoji
I mean... this always worked for me...
Just a heads up, this is in Emoji Switcher as a one-click process.
Wait until Emoji Switcher updates?
You are free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
Been useing this since 2013 its the best way to replace emojis and you get the new
Emoji Switcher, but you have to have root.
This needs root, but I've used it in the past without problems. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
> unputdownable
haha nice word :p
At first I just played with the device and mentioned it's really cool and offer really much, so actually you don't really need to root... BUT if you have some strong desire to opt the max out of the device and customize af, then you have to root.
To be really honest, I read a lot about rooting and everything sounded nice, but I thought they aren't really necessary... until I mentioned how ugly those stupid Emojis are ._. Sounds really stupid, but that was MY reason to root. Once I rooted I did some more research and mentioned there are a lot of very useful apps and possibilities. My device is modified af and still has about 7h SoT (Screen on Time) with heavy usage with turned on data or WLAN all the time :D
Here are features and apps I installed, really just a few ;p
If you're rooted, you can use Emoji Switcher
I just added the N preview emoji set to Emoji Switcher.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en has more than just ios ones
if your phone is rooted you can use this
You can do that if you have rooted phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
You can use Emoji Switcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=nl
You need root, though. But it works.
What are you waiting for then?!? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher Dump that garbage Samsung emoji.
After using the iPhone for a long time, I still like iOS's emojis.
Same. Once I rooted my phone, one of the first things I did was switch it to Android emojis.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en

(copied from one of my older posts)
I personally use the iOS 11 emojis. I had to download them from XDA tho
If you're rooted, there's this one. I've used it with great success in the past.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
Maybe EmojiSwitcher
root only
You can use emojii switcher to restore to the default ones.
You can change them with an app but you need root.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
In that case...

You can - Root required though!
For the people with Root:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
you might be able to get your emojis back, most of them anyways, by running this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
I've used Emoji Switcher in the past with great success. Maybe give that a shot?
You need to root your phone for a system-wide emoji change. The app Emoji Switcher is what I used: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
They're probably iPhone emojis that Android doesn't have. If you're rooted you can get https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
If you're rooted you can change the default Android emojis to the iOS ones with Emoji Switcher from the Play Store.
If you're rooted, you can use Emoji Switcher to change it system-wide: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
Yeah, I'm on the CM12.1 5.1.1 nightlies night now.
If you're rooted, there's Emoji Switcher.
You can change them using Emoji Switcher.
And you replaced them system wide with something like Emoji Switcher? That's really odd, then.
Edit: tested. Works flawlessly on 5.1
This app works fine on my G6. You'll need root of course.
How fucking dare you, the blob emojis trump iOS emojis by a million. If you root your phone you can get iOS emojis using emoji switcher.
Or if you don't want to, download Textra and make it your texting app to have iOS emojis only on that app using their emoji pack
Pwede mo palitan yung emojis if rooted phone mo bro. ito ginamit ko kaya iphone emojis ang nasa s7 ko https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
I haven't yet updated to Nougat, however with Root, Emoji Switcher has always worked for me on Marshmallow.
Try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
Needs root though.
not sure if this answers your question but if you like emojis i highly recommend this app (must be a root user) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
There's a root app on the Play Store to do it. You can also manually swap it out I think.
Root can be achieved on lollipop without an unlocked bootloader but not marshmallow(yet) it is possible to downgrade a BL locked device to lollipop and then root it. After that you just use something like emoji switcher
So if you're fine with lollipop there is a downgrade path in this thread
And a root guide here
Yep, use Emoji Switcher (root)
Emoji switcher by Schoen. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
This: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
You need root though
Replace your emoji font in the system settings. Or use this to go back to default
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
I used this app
If you're rooted, you can use Emoji Switcher.
This is not the link^^^^
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
Without rooting? Not that I know of. If you are willing to root, I can vouch for emoji switcher.
There is this app that I use on my G3,but it requires root.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
Install emojii switcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher is all you need, once you are rooted!
I might be a bit late but: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
You can also switch to iOS emojis if you prefer (requires root):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
If your rooted try this. If not please let me know of a workaround. Stock would be ok with me.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
Yes, with this app that requires root.
There are apps available to change this such as this, you'll need root though.
Try Emoji Switcher
Hey you should download this emoji switcher from the play store.... It will let you switch it to the emojis you like through the entire OS
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
You can, on a rooted Android device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher
You can use emojii switcher to restore to the default ones.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
There's just no denying that iOS has the best emojis
I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher requires root but gives me iOS emojis
Here you go. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stevenschoen.emojiswitcher&hl=en
It requires you to be rooted though..
