Reddit Offline. It downloads all the front page data of my favourite sub-reddits and lets me read them anywhere and anytime I want without needing an internet connection. It has such a nice, simple UI too.
1: Download Reddit Offline: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
2: Install, etc.
3: Power up, log in.
4: Cache whatever reddit threads you'd like to read, you can upgrade to premium to cache entire subreddits.
5: In 2018 keep an eye out for an update that allows you to post comments offline and have them be uploaded when you reconnect to wifi!
6: In 1998 the Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16ft through an announcer's table.
You'll regret it if you don't get reddit offline.

Offline is an offline web browser. You save a page and you can browse it offline. It also supports downloading links within the page!
I use Sync Pro too, but I've found the UI for offline downloading to be unintuitive. No proper background downloads, no scheduled downloads and no downloading multiple subreddits at the same time.
I've even tried using the Tasker method for bulk downloading, but the downloads aren't reliable at all.
On the other hand, reddit offline is fantastic at bulk accelerated downloads.
Scheduled downloads is also a godsend :)
You might look into Reddit Offline. Sounds exactly like what you're looking for.
Downloading Reddit for offline use strikes me as a niche feature, though, so I dunno whether I'd hold my breath on that being implemented in any other Reddit app.
You can limit it to only some subs, so the file requirements vary. Best bet is to NOT download image subs.
I don't know if it's on iOS, I have no way to check but the android version is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Use those 30 minutes to download reddit before the servers go down for maintenance and browse it offline

On Google Play there's Reddit Offline which will download specific subreddits you choose, and you can set it to only do so on wifi. So you can still Reddit while in the bathroom, while using no data!
Is it though? I use reddit offline for my morning commute on the tube. You can set it up to sync the top X pages of your favourite subreddits including comments at any time every day (e.g. 7am and 5pm). Unfortunately it's lacking a bit on other features and it's also not the prettiest reddit app out there. If that wasn't the case though I would uninstall reddit sync without hesitation. It's really a shame that comment caching was removed when reddit sync was rewritten (after all it is called reddit SYNC).
I commute to work on the subway often which doesn't yet have cell service on the route that I take so I started looking to see if it was possible to somehow pre-download Reddit so I could read some of my favorite subs while on the train.
It turns out there is an app for Android called Reddit Offline that lets me do just that. I download a dozen or so of my favorite subs on my wifi right before I leave home and I can catch up during my commute on the subway.
It also works great for airplane trips, too. I don't think it uses all that much data to download stuff as it's mainly just text and you can choose to download imbedded images or not. I don't think it will download videos at all, at least I've never seen them on there.
The only thing that sucks is when you want to reply to something really bad but you can't. It doesn't require any login information so there's not way to write a comment and then have it submit as soon as you're back on a data connection. Other than that, it's perfect and I use it literally every day.
It doesn't have a lot of features but Reddit Offline will do this. It's read-only (no commenting or voting) but that's going to be true any time you don't have a data connection. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Reddit offline is what you are looking for.
If you want to view online, Joey for Reddit is what you are looking for. You can turn off images and load only text of websites.
I use Reddit Offline, it's pretty good except for some ui complaints. I schedule it to sync selected subreddits before I wake up then use it at work.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Would love to have this feature as well. I downloaded another sketchy app on my phone just to have the feature for a recent flight. Would love to have it built-in to Boost with an option to clear the offline cache after 3 days or so if I forget to do it myself.
An app called "reddit offline" can download posts, comments, pictures, and videos on an hourly basis from subreddits you choose (or the front page) and you also can decide on an hourly basis if it should use WiFi only or if mobile data is allowed. I have no affiliation with this app and and not getting anything for this, just thought it could help some people
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Reddit Offline - Download Reddit online and read it offliine. You probably need to use it in conjunction with other reddit apps as you cannot comment or vote.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
You could use wget for this? But something like a "save subreddit locally" button would be nice addition indeed.
EDIT: There's also this exact app for what you described: Reddit Offline.
para a malta que não quer gastar muitos dados no reddit a andar de comboios:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=pt_PT
escolham os subs que mais gostem, e façam schedule (ou manualmente) para offline download na wifi de casa, e voilá, reddit sem dados :)
Not sure if this app was what you had in mind, but Reddit Offline does a great job.
Reddit Sync is another alternative for syncing content.
That's the reason I picked up Reddit Offline. Allows me to schedule times to sync, and if I want to do it only if Wifi is connected.
just gonna throw my love out for Reddit offline. Very handy if you know you have to use an underground train, or get limited mobile data and want to download stuff from your home or work Wi-Fi.
well the app crash when you use it without online connexion , which kinda defeat the purpose of the offline mode. I've send multiple crash reports.
Do you plan to integrate the same fonctionalities that Reddit offline have(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=fr) ? Linke me: Reddit Offline
Especially, the schedule auto dowload function
You could always use Reddit Offline...it will download 20 posts from your desired subreddit (or /all), and a bunch of comments too, but no videos (it sometimes will download .gifs too).
If you need more reddit than that, stick to text only subreddits like /r/AskReddit. Sometimes I can spend 15 minutes reading all the comments of a good thread.
I've got 300MB of data on Fido right now... My only other tips for you are to never stream anything, and leave your data off until you need it. Also, restrict background data when able.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
Definitely check this out if you are on Android. Basically, it caches images/comments for you when you are at home so you can browse reddit offline.
Download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
Complaining because the developer adds a new feature but it isn't the one you want is skirting the edge of [Rule #3](/r/redditisfun/about/rules): Don't be a dick.
Besides: there are several options and alternatives for offline reading, already:
IFTTT + Pocket and a recipe to send links saved on reddit to Pocket for offline reading.
reddit offline downloads reddit posts for offline viewing. I use it everyday!
Reddit Offline app. Let's me get my fix when flying.

If you have Android, get Reddit offline.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
It caches the pages you tell it to and you can browse it offline.
Reddit Offline might be what you're looking for, although its more of a one time downloading of posts etc
reddit offline is exactly what you're looking for.
Reddit Offline does everything you're looking for except caching links.
Reddit Offline. You can change the subreddit it downloads if you want too
It's an app called Reddit Offline
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
Use that, it works well.
You mean like this app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I made a project a while ago to download text subreddits since my internet is also fairly unreliable. It doesn't download images though, because I made it for myself, and I wasn't too interested in getting images. I may tweak it a little and include images at some point if I have time
Having said all of that, what this script does is downloads every single text post from a given subreddit and puts them into browsable html files that look like this (if you don't like the css, you can disable it with `
If you happen to be using an android device (or have one available), I'd strongly recommend using reddit offline as it does pretty much exactly what your're looking for, but again, only on an android phone, so I don't know how useful that is to you
EDIT: I just realize I never linked to my script because I am an idiot, here it is!
Cached Reddit:
Works really well for text bases subs like /r/askscience, /r/ExplainLikeImCalvin/, /r/OutOfTheLoop/.
This is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Btw, whats the other app you were talking about?
I found an app called reddit offline (for android) that does this.

reddit offline - cache pages of subreddits for offline viewing
Sync for reddit Pro - one of the most popular reddit clients
Action Launcher 3 - stockish looking customisable launcher
MX Player Pro - video player with lots of features and an intuitive UI
This would be amazing, currently using this app which does exactly this. Would be a great feature for RIF.
This should be top comment. link for lazy.
I used to use Reddit Offline, it hasn't been updated for a while though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Use it all the time
Hi otistoole,
I did some research and there are tools available that will not only help you admin a subreddit but will also allow you to save offline copies.
This a list of add-ons for FireFox, which is what I use. Checking available add-ons associated with Reddit for your browser may yield results. There are also platform specific add-ons available (android). I downloaded the Reddit Enhanced Suite which makes modding easier and supplies a bunch of tools.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/search/?q=reddit&appver=44.0&platform=windows
Uneddit is a deleted comment finder.
Reddit Offline An offline reddit reader. Will download what you want and has a scheduler which will download at specific times you specify. The is for android and is available in the Google Play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
Another option is to use the Microsoft Print to PDF driver. When you click the Print button, you should be able select it from the list of printers. IMPORTANT: Under page setup you need to check the box "Print all background colors and images" or the file will be pretty much blank.
If you don't see the Microft Print to PDF option in the Printer list, go to Microsoft's website, locate, download it and install it.
Obviously, this will only work on a windows computer. I tried it and all links, images, text, etc. were in the PDF.
Let me know if you have questions.
Nope, saving a post is basically like bookmarking it. Use the app 'reddit offline' if you want to view reddit offline.
Hey, check out reddit offline
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
Are you on it now? Do you have an Android device?
Take a look at "reddit offline"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
Same here; tried with other sort modes, same thing. Indeed, seems you can only sync hot.
I'd normally avoid recommending other reddit apps in this sub (Sync is my main, after all), but Reddit Offline does exactly what you're looking for.
Syncing top posts of all time in Askreddit.
Viewing one of these comment threads offline.
Bon voyage!
(edit: I must say, I really like that it shows the actual date of the post/comment, rather than approximately how long ago it was posted; "Mar 21 2018" instead of "five months ago")
“reddit offline” is a great app that you can easily use alongside Sync.
Oh OK, I don't really browse reddit on mobile. Most of the time I'm on my desktop with Firefox and RES.
I use this for mobile: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
there is an app on playstore called reddit offline, just for that
This maybe? Supposedly this also has an offline mode. And this too.

You can type in specific download times, wifi only, specific subreddits
I use "offline reddit": https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline&hl=en
Sadly it is kind of buggy, but it works for the most part.
There are apps that do this, but they have a completely different user interface that I don't like. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline

Perhaps not exactly what you're looking for. Might help though.
Reddit offline will save comments as well. Great for the subway.
I prefer Reddit Offline since it allows you to view comments as well.

Reddit Offline - it'll download a copy of your favourite subreddit so you can browse Reddit when there's no internet connection.
Offline redditing.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
If you really need that, I would specifically use the app "Reddit offline". I always used sync just because I like the UI. Never properly understood the offline part, it sometimes caches a few posts ahead, is that what it means?
Edit: Added link myself when I got home.
O' the Saviour, Reddit Offline
There is this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hr.redditoffline
never used it
On the other hand, imgur is the only image host that works on the (unofficial) Reddit Offline app.
Not even the official Reddit image hosting works on the Reddit Offline app.
