A Soft Murmur is good if you want to vary your white noise intake. It has multiple sliders that lets you choose just what you want to listen to, which is especially useful if you want to fall asleep to the soft sounds of, say, a coffee shop that's on fire.
Dunno if it's a true easter egg, but in a background noise mixer / app I made for Android, there's the option to share a mix you've made with your friends. You can attach a message that your friend will see if they open the mix in the Android app (rather than on the web)
So on the prompt to enter the message, there's an example message. The "easter egg" is that the example is different every time. Like:
"Soft winds at Black Sands Beach"
"Dawn chorus at Kinsman Mountain"
"Heavy rain at Kennebec River"
"Rolling thunder at Sequoia valley"
There's no reason for it to be like that, it just seemed the thing to do at the time. I don't think anyone's ever noticed.
It uses three apps; spotify (obviously), tasker and sleep as android. It then follows the following steps:
I have a tasker action as a button on my home screen which when I select it, launches spotify to my sleep playlist and launches Sleep As Android in sleep logging mode in the background.
I have tasker set to monitor Sleep As Android for when it reports REM cycles. I then have a variable that is set to increment each time SAA reports a REM cycle.
Tasker will wait until it detects a second REM cycle, then execute a command to pause spotify.
Tasker will then continue logging REM cycles until my alarm goes off, at which point it saves the number of REM cycles and the date to a text file, and resets the REM cycle count to 0 for next day.
I also have an optional sub rule that mutes my phones media volume after pausing Spotify. This allows me to combine Spotify with A Soft Murmur so I can have combination of chill out music and rain noises. I have that set to go off one REM cycle after Spotify pauses, so I transition from music, to ambient noises, to silence.
A Soft Murmur is my favorite by far. The free version is usable but I paid $1 for the full app and it was definitely worth it. Here is their website as well. You get all the sounds for free, but you don't get the benefit of it being on your phone at all times.
This one is great: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gabemart.asoftmurmur
"A Soft Murmur". It also has a website so you can generate the same sounds in your browser of choice: http://asoftmurmur.com/
I enjoy A Soft Murmur but haven't tried many of the others on here. I like the meander function that shifts the nature of the sound over time.
First question, do you have YouTube Red? I think you need that to (natively) play YT videos in the background.
Secondly, and I know this isn't ideal, could you try the app "A Soft Murmur"? I cast it to my Google Home with a 2 hour timer and it doesn't drop the session as far as I know.
Yay! My time to shine - Check out "A Soft Murmur". It does rain by default but there are other modes that you can try. What makes it even cooler is you can combine those modes. Like the coffee shop and rain? Combine them. Increase or decrease the intensity as well.
If you have an Android device, you can get the Android app as well.

A Soft Murmur. As far as I know, it's only available as the website or on the Google Play Store.
I downloaded the app for A Soft Murmur. Its the Android version if that's what you're on. I'm not entirely sure if they made it for iOS as well, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find something like it considering all the comments about the different websites for it.
Routine helped me. Pretty sure I was off Tramadol 4 weeks after my injury, which was a month before yours.
After I was off the drugs I did breathing exercises and white noise apps on my phone. If I was having difficulty sleeping these helped me and were done around the same time I would dose on Tramadol.
A Soft Murmur. Bought the full price version because it had more options, never looked back. I use it every day to drown out the stupid coming from my coworker. As he is not dead by my hand yet, I'd say it's paid for itself.
> Auch ganz nett finde ich die Einschlaf"musik", "Wellen bei Wind", "Gewitter", "Wale" und ähnliches. Ein ruhiges, wiederkehrendes Geräusch, das auch mal blubbern der Heizung und sowas übertönt.
Ich mag diese App zum Einschlafen: A Soft Murmur
There is A Soft Murmur, they also have an Android app, you can set the level for each noise and set timers, it is really useful for my T.
Hope it helps.
I use A Soft Murmur to make some custom white noise that really helps me sleep. It also has a timer feature so you can have it turn off after a period
Just mentioning that they also have an android app that's the exact same as the website but is much better to listen on your phone.
Does anyone know how this compares to A Soft Murmur?
I'ev already got the full version of that and other than the design its great.
Ok guys, I recently made a whole list for some friends and figured I'd paste it here. Lot of old friends in here, but maybe you guys see something you like!
List made using List My Apps
Yes, this is a thing, although I don't know of one specifically themed from The Expanse. It's a form of white noise - this can be weather effects (wind, rain, waves), TV static, murmuring voices (look for office background sounds, for example), AC units, and so on. These are very popular as sleep aids.
Websites such as My Noise will generate many types of static and will also do office noises and noises.online offers "cocktail voices" as an option. You can also get mobile apps which do these, for example I use the Android app called A Soft Murmur for the same at my bedside. You can also run a bunch of these in parallel tabs to get the overlapping effect of your choice.
I get the same functionality from A Soft Murmur and it's free
For the first one go with an app called A soft murmur
How does it compare to A Soft Murmur?
It's on Google Play too.
I use A Soft Murmur and a Bluetooth speaker:
If you buy the app, get the full version because it's like $2.
A Soft Murmur is my background noise app. No ads, free sounds are enough but you can do an in-app purchase to unlock others.

That's the app I use. There's an iPhone version for it too. You can make your own mixes of sounds. It's very well-done.
"A Soft Murmur" is pretty good. Though I only listen to it using their website and not the App. You cna find their app here->https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gabemart.asoftmurmur
