This application can do a lot for the free and the developer is very active. It is worth the money for the full unlock but like I said. The free can be enough.
It is a little more than just a drawing application.
- FlipaClip: Cartoon Animation Creator & Art Studio - Apps on Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vblast.flipaclip
For a pure drawing application use the open source application that is also on multiple platforms so when they use other devices to draw they have a comfortable environment to work in.
This application does have some limitations.
It does need a decent size screen / resolution as it is a desktop style environment.
- Krita - Apps on Google Play - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.krita
Both of these I have for my kids. FlipaClip is a lot more versatile and fun to use as a family. You can literally make a video with your child or whatever and draw stuff over the video and make cool videos.
App Used: Flip a Clip Audio Used: Holy Fish Paste
Does any one know how to contact the moderators, we need an animation tag.
The question I get the most is - "What is the size of your shoes?" Kidding, kidding.. Here it is:
Question: "What are the apps and devices you are using?"
Answer: I use FlipaClip on iPad a lot. I started with the Animation Desk application on iPad then switched to FlipaClip. Right now I start drawing my drafts on the iPad then I take them to PC and make final with OpenToonz or Blender. I polish remove not needed parts in Photoshop and finalize my videos in Premiere adding effects, audio, and watermarks.

P.S.: the next one is halfway done.
Some years ago, Ghibli released a version of their animation software. I'm still parsing my way through it because it is professional grade software for animators. If suggest sticking with Krita for now with your PC, and maybe FlipAClip for your phone.
It's made with flipaclip, it's for mobile devices, here's the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vblast.flipaclip

You should get that mobile app to do flipbook comics and animate this.

1) Flip a clip is a free app for phones that will run on tablets as well great for quick pencil tests.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vblast.flipaclip&hl=en_US
2) Any cheap pen tablet will do for a beginner but later on look into investing in the xp pen artist 15.6 for a decent mid range option with few compromises.

3) I can't guarantee it but if you can do about 12FPS of decent artwork for figures, mechs, vehicles, etc. there is a software out for computers for free called DAIN that will put your inbetweens at 60 fps.
