What is Reddit's opinion of Heather Scottish Text to Speech Voice?

I used to use IVONA until it stopped being maintained. I now use Heather Scottish Text to Speech Voice from CereProc. The demo video on Google Play is out of date, you can hear the latest version, as well as other regional English voices and a few non-English ones, on their website.

I am partial to the Cereproc engines. I'm currently using the "Heather" Scottish engine, and I think it's probably one of the best I have heard. The only issues Ihave is the pronunciations of some of the words, but other than that the flow is pretty nice.

Look around TTS engines on the playstore.

Find one you like.

Most TTS engines have their own app where you can input your own texts on a box and have them read it out loud for you.

You can change pitch, speed, volume...

There is not a best TTS engine as it changes with what you are looking for and we are all searching for different things most of the time.

I use TTS to keep me from drifting off when reading a book on my phone so I need my tts engine to be quite noticeable but still bearable, you probably need something that sounds simpler but since you asked for suggestions:

This one has a passable scottish accent and I started using it just because I didnt think it was possible to achieve that on android yet

Same thing as earlier but with Irish , both are reliable and I like to change things now and then

This app has a set of voices to select from and is completely free/quite reliable

Probably start out with the last one/the associated voices and see which one suits you best
