Played this game a while back and was immediately reminded of it when I found this sub

The original game is a masterpiece and the VR version is really cool too. I was lucky enough to get it free.

IMO, iap for indie devs are okay as long as it 1) supports them and their creation and 2) as a means for fending off piracy. All others like p2w are just not worth it.
For example, I recently purchased the iap unlock for Pinout -- worth the checkpoint saves and the overall well-polished design and soundtrack.
PinOut is a great little mobile game. It's basically an infinite-runner crossed with pinball game. So you pinball your way up an (possibly?) endless table collecting shiny things for more time on the clock. And as you hit certain distances the music and colours change. The music is great too.
In the free version you always start from the beginning and try to get as far as possible. If you buy it you can start from any of the zones you've reached before. It's not randomly generated so I assume it's not actually infinite, but the table is long enough that I've never finished it.

Reminds me of my favourite pinball game in the play store Pinout. I like it and I can't wait for our move so I can play it with the sound cranked up (right now the tv is against a wall shared with my baby's bedroom, ack)

I highly recommend PinOut which I have been addicted to since I bought it ($2.99). Its a fantastic fast-paced pinball game where the objective is getting through each stage without running out of time rather than gathering points on a static board. I also play a lot of Tetris, and for emulation I recommend PPSSPP for PSP games like Armored Core 3 and even Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

Great gameplay, perfect for mobile. Excellent, configurable graphics that look great even on the lowest setting. Infinite pinball gameplay broken up with the occasional minigame. IAP are done really well. Really great outrun soundtrack as well.
It's really fun and F2P, try it out!
Surprisingly enjoyed pin out. Great soundtrack and visual with challenging but addictive game play

Nobody will do that unless MS themselves do. This is a fun alternative.
I enjoy playing the unofficial port of 3D Pinball for Windows - Space Cadet from time to time (the one in the Play Store doesn't feel the same as the one for Windows and has questionable physics). It's just one table from the Full Tilt! Pinball and most people never ever knew it was supposed to be a demo for the full game.
I can aslo recommend PinOut. It's more like an endless runner with pinball mechanics. I got bored of it eventually though.

For another great free pinball game, I strongly recommend PinOut, especially if you're into outrun at all.
It's been submitted a couple of times before but never got much attention and I think it deserves attention.
