If you have Android, there is ThermoStats: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaredharen.harvest&hl=en_US

Shameless plug, but if you have an Android phone you'd like my app. It includes a widget so you can always see the temps on your home screen.

EDIT: typo
If you have an Android phone you can use the Thermostats app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaredharen.harvest&hl=en_GB
It only keeps a week of data though, but it does receive Push updates from Nest. So every time the temperature changes it'll log a data point.
Gen 3 pointed at window or door that gets UPS deliveries?
Pets?
Inflatable Christmas decorations outside window on a windy day?
All of these can cause the nest to register motion, if only they had decent reporting so you could figure out what it was thinking... I found this app gives you a decent bit of insight so you can see not just when heat/cool runs but how far your house falls out of band during eco: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaredharen.harvest
Hah, thanks for the page. /u/hereImIs do you have an Android phone? I made an app that at least might make it easier for you to set the temp, but it is not integrated into an alarm clock. That is certainly an interesting idea.
I wonder if Tasker could help here at all.

The widget for the thermostat does cost $2.
The developer updated the app, it's back in the app store.

If you have an Android phone, this app works really well:

Give this app a try to get a look at what's going on, only thing missing is home/away on the graph. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jaredharen.harvest
I think this will give you what you want:

This is an interesting idea. I think I could implement something like this in my app. I'll consider it for the future.
