No, but I will plug for Twilight Struggle, which myself and several other gsg-playing friends of mine also indulge in. Closest thing we are going to get to East v West (and probably better than that game was going to be). Recommend playing against actual people rather than the AI though.

Twilight Struggle es una muy buena adaptación del excelentísimo boardgame que simula la Guerra Fría.
Si te interesan los juegos como el Civilization, tenés el Through the Ages.
Picked up Twilight Struggle on sale. Never heard of it before, but I'm having a blast. Despite getting my ass kicked every game. Very steep learning curve, but tickles that strategic itch.

Some boardgame adaptation perhaps? Might be a longshot, but - Twilight Struggle is one of my favorites that has a strong strategy and narrative aspect.

I can't see it, and when I search for the developer "playdek" it isn't listed either.

Twilight Struggle for a long game, Race for the Galaxy for short games. Both are brilliant.
Oh, there's an iOS version (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/twilight-struggle/id942766453), Android version (<strong>https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdekgames.twilightstruggle</strong>) and a Steam version (https://store.steampowered.com/app/406290/Twilight_Struggle/), which can be good to get to grips with the game, or to try it out prior to purchasing the board game version.
^(Edit: Added Steam URL)

Assuming you mean Twilight Struggle, it's actually been out for Android for a while (and it's great): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdekgames.twilightstruggle&hl=en
I highly recommend the application for the game as it will accelerate your knowledge on how to play the game and how to play the game well. I owned TS for many months without playing it, but after playing the digital game for a month, I knew the game inside and out. It's great because you always have an opponent to play with (the AI) and you can play it with others online. You can even play hotseat which means you can play it with someone sitting right next to you with only one copy of the game by passing the device when it's their turn.

It's a very deep and tense 2-player area control game. It's just so interesting when you have to play an unwanted event, yet you can control how to mitigate it. Here's a great strategy guide:

Not sure if this is what you were thinking of, but it's what I've always used.
Before you do that let me make an sincere suggestion -- get the app. TS is a complicated game that won't click between two new players until the 3rd or 4th play. The digital version of TS is a freaking fantastic way to learn to play and it has an excellent tutorial. (Steam says I've got 90 hours in it solo, and I know I have at least that many hours in it on Android).
It's $10 bucks but still worth it. If you're not in a hurry it goes on sale for $5 or so all the time. Before setting yourself up for a big letdown trying to soak in the physical game again as two new players, I highly suggest at least one of you learning on the app. It's cross platform multiplayer, too. I could be at my PC and play my GF on her tablet.
Don't bother with the kickstarter expansion. Just get the core game.
For what it's worth, it's available in the Australian Google Play Store. Maybe it's not released on Apple?
If you like super deep board games with (limited/no) turn timer..
