Itselläni on hyviä kokemuksia Couch-to-5K:sta.
It's excellent! I almost never buy apps, but this one is well worth it. I sit on my butt all day in front of a computer for work, and this is app is really whipping me into shape.
There are a few different versions. Here is the one I am using:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k
Here are the stats from my run yesterday:
It also maps your run for you, using GPS, but I cropped that out.
Couch to 5K (Android) by Active was my go-to app during the program. Looks nice, has a few different character voices for the voice commands.
Hi! I know you said you already have a 5k program but this is the one I used and it worked really well for me. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k It's a 9 week program that I ended up taking about 6 months to finish. I have weak knees so I don't really have any ankle specific advice. For myself the best thing I found was to take things slowly and stop when things started hurting. It took me a bit to figure that out and I kept running through my knee pain causing injury. I don't do that anymore. Now I slow my pace down and/or stop depending on how I'm feeling. Good luck!
I like this paid one because it's very simple, reliable, the voice is clearly audible when listening to music and there is no cheerleading like some apps.
Not a weird question at all! I researched a bunch of apps as well before I picked one.
This is the one I use:

It's the Active.com C25K app. Also gives you audio cues for when to walk and when to run. Easily my favourite running app. Here's the Apple link: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/couch-to-5k-running-app-training/id448474423?mt=8
and here's the Android link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k&hl=en_GB
Thank you!
I bought a Couch to 5k App on Google Play and just started running indoors on the track at my work.
It was a really slow process to get started but I told myself not to waver at all from the program to avoid burning myself out or messing with my mindset. Dedicated myself to running Mon/Wed/Fri every week, no exceptions, even if I was feeling unwell, just pushing myself through it and fortunately I didn't encounter injuries.
Fortunately I still had access to the track right up until COVID shut everything down and then I just started using Nike Run Club to track my distances using my cellphone.
I found the Couch to 5k was pretty good. The voices & add-ons that were included in buying it were helpful. It was a little monotonous running around a track but I think the headphones are what helped me most. Haha.
Thanks again!!!
I use the C25K by Active Network. I like it a lot, and I appreciate being able to choose from several different voices/trainers. It also breaks out my times by interval after the run, which I find helpful.
Yeah, I use this app, I believe there's a paid and a free version of it. I also use a garmin watch because I love the stats that it gives me because I'm a nerd like that
I think most of the apps will do that. I've been using the active c25k app and have been pretty happy with it.
Some of the apps will have the ability to play music but you don't have to. I generally use a separate app to play music and it will cut in with the intervals. It also notifies of the 1/2 way point as well as once towards the end of the run.
I also tried the Zen labs one but didn't like it as much. (Doesn't use GPS to calculate distance) but that also had just the interval notifications.
Some people also just use an interval timer but you'll have to program in the intervals yourself.
Active's c25k app uses GPS tracking. I've been using this but I've also been using strava at the same time, mostly because of the social aspect because I know some other people also using it.

IOS: https://itunes.apple.com/app/apple-store/id448474423?mt=8
I use it, it's a bit janky but the voice prompts are loud and the info ok
[edit: extra info]
This is a podcast by the NHS. She prompts when to run and walk and offers encouragement and plays music in between. I found it most helpful.
I love NHS Couch to 5K, let's play it! https://www.podbean.com/ea/dir-sjuct-ff41a6
The app is cool just has the prompts, (Walk! Jog!) at the same intervals but is otherwise silent allowing you to play your own music.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k
Good luck...I hope this helps.
I've already become a pretty quick longer distance runner but all the best to you.
Just a recommendation, buy the Couch to 5k App. It helped me quite a bit with little pressure.
Little steps compound to big results.
Good luck.
It’s Couch to 5k - Run training by Active Network. Here’s the link for it in the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/couch-to-5k-run-training/id448474423
Here’s the link on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k
Honestly all have the same method of running but I used this one
Please note that I used this app 6 years ago when I was really unhealthy and couldn't even run for a full minute. I found this app that said it will help me run 5k so I installed it and I just did what it said and I ran 5k in 9-10 weeks. I was addicted to running then and was running non stop for 45 minutes every morning. Checkout /r/C25K
The one from coolrunning.com is referenced on /r/c25K. It's not free.

I recommend this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k
I've done the C25k program a number of times now, either as return from injury or return from other absence from running. That app has served me very well.
More important than the app choice though, you should head over to /r/C25k and join the community!
Which is the better app or the app that everyone here is using? I plan to basically run around my block so I don't end up stranded far away.
or
Thanks
Thanks, could you please give a link to the app/program?
I never heard of the distance guidelines (yea I know that makes me sound stupid), I've downloaded the app this one and followed it.
Is this the app you purchased? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.active.aps.c25k I'm not too sure if it shows the pace/distance during the workout as I'm never watching my screen but it does show you at the end
As having done the C25K program this summer using this app, I'd like to say you're off to a great start. However, I greatly miss having a log and a series of charts and graphs to gauge my performance. Even showing a new best distance or time is a great way to mark an accomplishment and stay motivated... The final thing I don't like is the voice. While I understand this is nitpicking, I really prefer a drill sargent yelling at me along the way instead of a robot lady at the start/end. I understand you may be taking a more minimalist approach however and, for that, it's great.
Because I use the C25K app by Active, it stores all of the run data from each workout. After that, I just put it into excel.
I would get the Active app. Its $2.00 but in my opinion worth it, although I use it on iOS. I just made my W1 completion post if you want to see what one of the interface screens looks like.
You don't need to be on wifi, but you'll still need to be on 3G/4G (at least for iOS). Maybe you can wait for someone who uses the same app you do to reply to get feedback with that one though if you prefer. Sorry I couldn't help with that specifically.
This is Active's C25K app, available on both iOS or Android.
As far as running goes, don't get discouraged! I used to run in a gym for longer durations a little over a year ago so I'm not exactly right off the couch. Also the longer durations are also the result of me brisk walking more rather than walking during the intervals. I use the time when I'm brisk walking to try to focus on my form (foot-fall, back posture, and breathing).
There are so many C25k apps it seems. I wonder how different they all are when compared with each other. I never buy apps, but this is one I feel is well worth the money:

It's Active's C25K app. I'm using it myself and I think it's great, worth paying a little bit for how well it works.
Looks like the c25k app from the wiki/guide. I just downloaded it a few days ago. It's $1.99 on google play store this one
