Yeah, get a different provider that doesn't force their own name on your statusbar.
But, seriously: Get the SystemUI Tuner app. You do need access to a computer to use it, but it's worth it. And do what milan87 said, change your display size.
SystemUI Tuner, in the app store by Zachary Wander allows you access to LG V30 UI tuner. I use it to disable most notifications I dont like (unfortunately you still cant remove AT&T logo without root). He updates weekly, and has a git you can post bugs/requests too as well.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
I had a 6P. I actually wouldn't go back to stock Android now. TouchWiz/Grace UX/whatever they want to call it this week has come a really, really long way in the last 3 generations or so.
Knox, and everything that it enables, has really become a key feature for me. The only thing I really missed was having SystemUI Tuner, but there's an app for that now and it doesn't require root.
You can also go with a GUI interface thanks to u/zacharee1
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Also allows you to get rid of the pesky heads up notifications so that they're confined to the secondary screen.
This app works very nicely on my S8 - you have to give it an extra permission using ADB but you don't need to be rooted. YMMV.
Sticking to Reddit users, I appreciate u/zacharee1 and u/damianpiwowarski quite a bit for making fairly unique apps in System UI Tuner and Adapticons, respectively.
Check system ui tuner. It won't change your phone completely but you can adjust some small things like speed of animation with accuracy of 0.01, icons in statusbar, lockscreen shortcuts etc
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
On the XZ1c these can be fixed with 3rd party apps and ADB commands. Try it on the XZ2c maybe?

Persistent NFC: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US
That System UI tuner app is great. It does a lot that the native system UI tuner can't, including disabling heads-up notifications (although I still haven't figured out how to get my beloved Kitkat ticker back).
Haven't noticed the maps/calls black screen myself, but I rarely use my phone as an actual phone, so there's that...
From left to right: Rotation lock - HiFi audio - Vibration mode - Mobile data
I personally used SystemUI Tuner to remove unwanted icons (rotation lock, bluetooth, NFC)
Protip: if you're like me and hate the persistent alarm icon, you can remove it with System UI Tuner.
In the app, go to Status bar, disable alarm clock icon and rotation lock icon and you're set.
Alternatively System UI Tuner appears to have this function built in.
System UI Tuner is a great tool for many different modifications I use.
You can also do that using System UI Tuner from the play store.
Still need adb, but it's a nice gui for a ton of little tweaks.
I used this :https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner You need adb on your computer to used it. It was made for the v20 "While I made this for my LG V20, since LG removed the stock SystemUI Tuner" -zacharee1 , it also adds night shift to the quick menu.
If it's just the icon that annoys you and you're fine with using a VPN you could download SystemUI Tuner to hide the status bar icon. Other than that there isn't a way to block ads system wide without root. You can get a browser that supports adblock plugins, but that would of course only work on your browser.
Install SystemUI Tuner from the Play store...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US
Install or extract adb to your PC (Lets say to the "C:/adb" to make it as simple as possible)
http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
connect Android phone to the PC and open "Windows Command Processor" in short called "CMD" with admin rights then copy paste the following entries one by one to CMD. Make sure you hit Enter on your keyboard after each entry.
C:/adb/adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
C:/adb/adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
C:/adb/adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
Once you are done entering those three entries, you can unplug your phone and and open up the new app installed "SystemUI Tuner" to modify system Headsup Notification under Miscellaneous tab.
Probablement Xposed (Xuimod par exemple), SystemUI Tuner (root, ne marche pas partout), ou une custom ROM (dans mon cas Resurrection Remix).
> If anyone knows how to remove the NFC icon (it's not an option here), I'd love to hear it.
Yep, so Sony are just being difficult here. Personally, I installed this excellent app (requires a quick adb command to enable it) and have been able to remove the NFC status icon, as well as a bunch of helpful tweaks. Also lets you add an Immersive Mode quick settings tile which is very handy.
I made an app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It's under Quick Settings.
You can also use ADB:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count COUNT
Or from the device itself, rooted:
su settings put secure sysui_qqs_count COUNT
Just use SystemUI tuner or SamTweak2 to get rid of the warning. You don't even need root.
There is a free godsend app that gives back most systemui tweaks on Samsung and other manus that disabled the stock tuner called System UI tuner that can hide alarm, bkuetooth nfc and even add a battery icon to quick settings.
actually you could also do it in Android10 using app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner which can be done after some adb configuration.
SystemUI Tuner may be an option (example).
I use SystemUI Tuner by Zachary Wander to hide status bar icons, it works on my P30 Pro running EMUI 10.0.0.178 although it requires initial setup using ADB.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
System UI Tuner can be used to choose which icons you want in your status bar.
No root required. But ADB commands will be needed Here's a guide on how to use ADB commands
SystemUI Tuner, free on the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
0,5 makes the phone feel like it's running faster than me. 0,75 in my opinion is the sweet spot. To set it on 0,75 you can use a 3rd party app. I personally use system UI tuner https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Don't really need pics.. download the app, go to immersive mode, check 'navigation bar' and enable blacklist and check 'pixel launcher'..
As for your questions, don't really know since I'm rooted, but I say, just try, what harm can it cause?
Also don't know about the notch cuz I don't have one
I set up systemUI tuner to add a battery details button to the quick settings pane, which goes directly to battery details when you tap it.
Immersive Mode:
Mode Full -> No status bar in the PokeGo.
Mode Navigation Bar -> transparent status bar in the PokeGo.
App Specific - Enabled: True, Blacklist: False, Select Apps (Select desired apps);
Just use SystemUI tuner or SamTweak2 to get rid of the warning. You don't even need root.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
Give this app user rights through adb commands (easy search in Google) and it works great. I hide nfc, localization and alarm icons with it.

System UI Tuner - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
FYI you can use SystemUI Tuner to get rid of it. It can also hide other things like carrier signal strength or the alarm icon.
It seems that system UI tuner was removed (for now maybe) and the only way to access it is via a 3rd party app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner , such as this one), enabling USB debug from Dev options and using adb to give permissions. Inside the app there's an option to toggle it off, as well as all the old system UI settings too
You can do this with the built-in System UI Tuner if it's available on your device. If not, you could try the SystemUI Tuner app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can also turn off the battery % and carrier name in the standard Huawei settings.
Yeah you can using and app called systemUI Tuner. Just make sure you read the instructions about using it carefully. It's easy to install/use. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Also in the notes settings you can choose to hide the navy bar when not being used. I think it's called immersive mode or something like that.
Use system UI tuner to make the icon disappear. You need to punch in some adb commands if you don't have root but that's easy with a computer and Google. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
SystemUI Tuner may be able to enable them, assuming it's compatible with your phone.
Not quite what you asked for, but this can do chatheads and previews (which are similar to heads-up).
A lot of messaging apps can do it on an individual basis.
No.1 should be achievable with this app
and...
No.2 could be dealt with by replacing the lockscreen, although I wouldn't suggest it
SystemUI Tuner can hide the icon, and others (NFC, headphone, etc).. you have to grant permission using your computer but that's easy.
Not sure about the notification. Can you long press on it and click block notifications? Actually that might hide all settings notifications or something..
After a while of tinkering, I found my sweet spot to be .8x animations. I use System UI tuner to set it to a custom speed.
I made an app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It's under Quick Settings.
You can also use ADB:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qqs_count COUNT
Or from the device itself, rooted:
su settings put secure sysui_qqs_count COUNT
Sadly with Sony's Android 7.1 update the option to not show the icon has gone from the system UI tuner.
The only way that I know of doing that is by downloading systemUI tuner from the play store and following the steps (you have to use adb fastboot on your PC). After giving the app those permissions from your PC, you can now turn the NFC icon off.
I don't know why Sony decided to kill this option though, maybe it was an oversight?
Ooh. I would recommend ditching your old Sprint sim card like you are escaping the sinking Titanic. The T-Mobile simcard is likely a free upgrade from your carrier, and is a lot more reliable in my rural experience. Buuut if you really want to turn off just the VoLTE badge, I believe there is a toggle in System UI Tuner. You will need a computer and basic tech troubleshooting skills to enable the app's administrative privileges through Android Debug Bridge.
Fully agree, Google should use it's supposed "smart" software for features like this. Love the "snooze until I'm home" suggestion.
There is however an app you can download that can at least let you customize the various time options for snoozing. I have it set to 0.5hr, 2hr, 8hr and 12hr.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you're not rooted though, you do have to give it ADB permission which involves connecting it to your computer.
Minimize adguard notification to hide adguard icon from status bar
https://i.imgur.com/n2BzRZc.png
Use this app to hide vpn icon or if you're rooted you can "Local HTTP Proxy" to use adguard without vpn
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I think SystemUI Tuner should work. You have to activate extra permissions from the PC using ADB and then it should be possible to hide some of the status bar icons.
I hid NFC and Eye Comfort icons using this app on Android 8.0 and it is still hidden after several updates on 9.1, so I guess it should still work on latest version.
The built-in System UI Tuner feature is not available on Samsung devices. OP could be talking about an app like this which I have been using.
You can use systemui tuner to enable immersive mode on the status bar.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Edit: To answer your question though, screen write doesn't capture it by default
Try SystemUI Tuner:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It can be used to disable notification icons. You can use it to just see which ones you have.
It needs root or it can be enabled with adb.
Yes. I'm almost certain if you install System UI Tuner you can disable most icons.
It worked on my phone for disabling icons in Pie but I uninstalled it due to some glitches with quick settings. It's not officially supported for Pie yet.
I cleaned up my status bar using this app.
You don't need root but you do need to grant some permissions using ADB. The app guides you though it, it's pretty easy.
Some icons don't seem to go away, like clock or battery. Still I've hidden some, like nightlight and nfc, which are pretty much on all the time.
I think you're referring to Heads-Up Notifications.
You can go into Settings > Apps > name of the offending App > Notifications > change the notifications behaviour from Make Sound and Popup on Screen to just Make Sound.
Or, if you want to disable Heads-Up Notifications entirely, you can download System UI Tuner. After you've installed and launched the app, there should be additional Quick Settings tiles. You can add the Heads-Up tile and disable Heads-Up Notifications from there.
Oh I'm not using their gestures at all! Tried it and hated it but realized I could toggle the navigation on and off through it so I just use it for that lol. I should try one plus guestures!
Oh status bar can be hidden with system UI tuner.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Try this. It's not through the settings app and will require a computer to enable and disable, but it's better than nothing.
I'm not 100% sure if SystemUI Tuner allows for that, but it's worth looking into. It also requires adb, but only for initial setup instead of each time you want to change the setting.
The only other way I can think of is to go through each app and its notification channels one by one and changing the behavior to show silently. It'll be super tedious though.
After a few ADB commands it will allow you to enable immersive mode (which will give you the option to also hide the status bar if you wish). The functionality of hiding the nav bar will act like the the built in hide functionality but it gives you the option of a white list of apps that will not be affected by the hiding of the nav bar.
Also feel free to turn off the safe mode notification in the app.
Bit of a longshot but there's an app called system UI tuner
I have 8 now, but on an LG V20
But who knows, it might work on Axon 7. Give it a shot
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
use SystemUI Tuner to set it to 4
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US
edit: nvm it only fixes half of your problem, i just tested it it still doesnt let you remove to less than 6 but it will let you display only 4 before swiping down
I never knew it was a enabled/disabled thing.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
For hiding and showing icons, I suggest Zach Wander's SystemUI Tuner. It can be given the permissions it needs via ADB if you don't have root. As far as changing shape or size, I'm unsure. I know that Substratum themeing and the Andromeda backend no longer work on P, since Google banned OMS Overlays
You can download System UI Tuner off the play store, and set it up to hide icons and stuff from the status bar. I think the setting you're looking for is the "volume" icon.
You'll have to use ADB to input a command the first time you open it, just fyi. If the app doesn't do what you want, just make sure to reset everything before you uninstall!
In CMD, type cd /"folder where you extracted the zip file". Example: cd /users/downloads/google-platforms-tools
I believe this app allows to do what you want, with a friendlier UI: SystemUI Tuner
Download the app "System UI Tuner" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Give it the required ADB permission. And got to Immersive Mode settings. There you can control everything about the Status bar. For which app is hides. It's color etc.
> system UI tuner
heres a direct link although you need to use adb to give the app a few permission so that it can actually do it thing.
Just a FYI, someone on this subreddit mention the System UI Tuner app. This let's you do all kinds of stuff (set immersive mode per app, etc) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
From what I can tell, this is just an interface that changes the same variables that the shell command changes. The shell command also lets you specify pre-approved policies, etc, but I imagine many of you would find a graphical interface much easier to use.
If you are wanting an actual blue light filter, use System UI Tuner and get a toggle for night mode (it will even stack with comfort view).
If you are wanting it for screen retention, use iBlue—free, no data permission.
You're on Windows, right? and you talked about CMD, that's a Shell. You don't need to paste anything from your phone, just copy it from the description here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Download this. It has a power notification option. But I think you need to grant it access through ADB to get certain features
I think that's just a bug with the game. I had the opposite situation where first account is Google -> Forced Navbar. Switched to a PTC account -> Navbar hidden.
But either way you can use an app like SystemUI Tuner to toggle Android's Immersive Mode and use fullscreen on any app.
I noticed the same last week, and I don't know about the warranty, but to keep it from worsening I downloaded ui tuner and activated immersive mode. If you don't have root you need to grant permissions through a PC, with usb debugging activated on developer options, it's all explained in the app. Hope it helps.
I could be mistaken, but it looks like this has been moved to a per app basis for Oreo so I don't think a global setting is coming back. If an app hasn't been updated to support the new notification system in Oreo, I'd think using an ADB command or System UI Tuner to toggle the global setting should be able to help.
I saw where you said you fixed the icon because of an app that had a related task, but if you want to hide the icons permanently, there are a couple of ways to do that.
Make sure usb debugging is on, then
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist
followed by names of icons.
For example:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist alarm
would remove the alarm icon. You have to string all the ones you want to hide in one command, because if you have alarm hidden then do nfc, alarm will show back up. The syntax is like
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist alarm, nfc (no spaces, seperated by commas)
Here is a list of the names of the icons: (some phones are alarm, some are alarm_clock. Might have to play with this one)
Name Settings Description
>cast Cast
>hotspot Hotspot
>bluetooth Bluetooth
>zen Do not disturb
>alarm_clock Alarm
>managed_profile Work profile
>wifi Wi-Fi
>ethernet Ethernet
>mobile Cellular Data
>airplane Airplane Mode
After that, adb reboot and makes sure they stayed hidden. I learned this from someone on /r/lgv20. Hope it helps!
You could also download SystemUI Tuner to remove some of these, too.
SystemUI Tuner and Status can both do this, but in different ways.
I used System UI Tuner to make the hidden system blue light filter available. It's much better than the overlay method of non-root filters.
I don't think it's causing battery drain since the icon remains active despite disabling the location settings. That said, it does bug me. In the meantime, I've hidden the icon using SystemUI Tuner. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
SystemUI Tuner. Gives us back all the options from Google's SystemUI Tuner that Samsung removed and more. It requires that you give some permission using adb, but it's worth it.
Well you can sort of do it without root, and I'm gonna plug my app for this, even though I haven't built in any toggles yet (though you just gave me that idea): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You'll have to grant some permissions using ADB (instructions in app), but from there, go to the app's settings, enable custom settings input, then go to Miscellaneous and find the section.
Enter this in the Global setting to enable: policy_control immersive.full
To disable: policy_control anything_you_want
If I have time, I can add some quick tiles to do it.
Could try System UI Tuner I use it to get rid of the battery icon, but you can pretty much get rid of everything. Just need to grant some adb commands for it to work.
This is Data Saver. If you want to keep it on to help with battery, but don't want the icon you can use SystemUI Tuner app to hide status bar icons. No root required, just some simple ADB commands to give the app permission. It's fairly straightforward.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
On some phones the system UI tuner is disbaled, for examples Samsung phones like the S8(+). But yiu can download and use the third party app System UI Tuner, which let's you enbable it. It works, a little bit different and slightly difficult, but it works. I can help you if you need help
Install the app "System UI Tuner" - no root needed, but you'll need to run some commands on your PC.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
Once you've done that, you'll be able to use that app to indicate that you want per-app permissions for notifications (why LG pulled this capability is beyond me), and you'll be able to have notifications in your bar but no peeking, for all apps or whatever apps are being annoying. HTH!
It seems that Samsung disables it. Of course. However, you can use this app. It requires some commands to be executed through ADB though.
System UI can give u seconds in statusbar.. You have to do a couple of Adb commands from a pc to get it going though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It's an application named "system UI tuner"
Download it. install it. Follow directions inside app. Run adb commands (use Google to search).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
there's also an app that replicates the systemui menu, along with some additional functionality
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
ive been using it and havent had any problems, though i'm only using it to hide bluetooth and nfc icons, havent messed with the other stuff
now if i could just find some way to get the damn T-Mobile out of my notification bar id finally be 100% happy without having to root
1) and possibly 2) This app will work to remove nfc and alarm icons. Haven't tried Wi-Fi calling. Also requires ADB
3) Without root, I doubt it. I use this to create custom shortcuts using that exact icon pack for the homescreen, but won't work for the app drawer. It's your best option without rooting the phone.
Fairly sure this app has an option to disable it via Android's hidden settings: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You will need adb to use it though, in order to grant it the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Then run these commands via adb on your pc
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
I also disable battery optimization for the app. I've had success with it automatically restoring my settings on boot that way. To disable the location icon, you're looking for the Icon Blacklist menu under Interaction > Status Bar in the app.
If you use System UI tuner you can fine tune your animation scales. Right now I have mines set to Animator:. 0.76 Window: 0.20 Transition: 0.26 😉
Not much with this app tbh. Its just an easier way to access the built in system ui tuner so you can disable and enable status bar icons and that's about it. I just offered it if good lock wouldn't work you can turn the alarm icon off with this. There's another system ui tuner that has a lot more features
I'd like to add that for non-Samsung Android phones you can use System UI Tuner: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You just need to give it extra permissions via ADB.
If anyone wants faster animations but 0.5x is too fast, download system ui tuner.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Follow the steps and you can set the animation scales to whatever you want. I currently have mine at 0.85x
You could bypass this with SystemUI Tuner ( Play store ). Although I wouldn't recommend you try if you have that little storage space left.
Using systemui tuner you can set animation scales ar more options, like at .8x.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Here's the app, follow the instructions and bam you can get quicker animations to your liking
You can use systemui tuner hide status bar. It has a lot of other options that u can add in quick settings when you swipe down from status bar. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
This app can do it (I have it turned off myself), but it requires additional permissions to be added via ADB (no root required).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can set a custom animation scale with System UI Tuner
This app does the same for free:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can:
Download SystemUI Tuner, follow these directions to set the clock to whatever side
Use Good Lock's QuickStar (you might need an activity launcher or NiceLock to be able to access it)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner get rid of all that shit my man
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You will need ADB to grant this permission.
I put it in the URL box when submitting this. Not sure what happened; I'm still pretty new at Redditing.

3 How to theme your phone to any color scheme you like via Swift Installer.

Download Swift Installer from the Play Store.

Open the app and press Personalize to set your color scheme. Then press the red circle on the bottom right to confirm the changes.

Next, press on Install/uninstall.

Make sure the check-marks next to "Android System", "Settings Suggestions" and "System UI" are selected, but they should be automatically. NOTE: If you want to change the theme across the phone, you can select other things such as Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Google Maps, etc but I do not advise it if you are new user. These apps get updated often and when they do, the themes aren't always updated immediately and cause the apps to crash.

Next, press the red button at the bottom right and press install. The phone may ask you to allow installation from unknown sources from settings. Just follow the onscreen prompts and allow the app to install the themes.

You should now see an install page for each theme. Press the install button on the bottom right of the screen.

With everything installed, restart the phone and you should have your new theme applied.

NOTE: If you're doing a system upgrade or updating your phone, you should disable these themes through the same method. Go to Overlays, then Active and click the check circles next to Android System, Settings Suggestions and System UI, press the red button at the bottom and select uninstall. You can reinstall these themes after the system update is completed.

4 (Workaround) How to enable "hide navigation bar gesture" with third party navigation bar AND restore "long press of recent apps key for multi-window/split screen".

Download Navigation Bar from the Play Store

Download Hide Navigation Bar from the Play Store

Download ADB onto your computer. Here are some instructions.

Enable developer options in settings by pressing the build number 7 times. Instructions found here.

Under developer settings at the bottom of the main settings menu, enable USB debugging.

Connect your phone to your computer via the charging cable.

Open ADB on your computer.

Tap the on screen prompts on your phone to allow your computer access to your Galaxy S9.

Type the following commands into ADB.

adb shell pm grant com.ivianuu.hidenavbar android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Now, open "Navigation Bar" app on your phone and turn the new navigation bar on. There are additionally settings such as the look of the icons, the functionality of long pressing the back, home and recent apps keys and whether or not the bar auto hides. Without any tinkering, off the bat you can swipe the bar to hide it.

LASTLY, open "Hide Navigation Bar" app on your phone and select "Hide Navigation Bar".

Now you can hide and unhide the navigation bar. Sorry it takes a lot of work but that's the best we got.

5 How to improve battery life. There are many guides on how on the subject so I shall link a couple. Credits to u/Bigkane786 and u/mrNas11.

Go to settings and select "Device Care." Click on battery and make sure "Power Mode" is set to "Optimized". If that still doesn't save enough power, select "Medium power saving".

Also in Battery, press the three dots on the top right of the screen and open battery "settings". Make sure all tabs are enabled, especially "Adaptive Battery".

Post explaining how adaptive battery works and affects your phone.

Post with recommendations on how to extend battery life with some drastic app management.

If nothing else works, try a factory reset and only reinstalling the apps you need. Go into settings and type in "Reset". Select "Factory Data Reset". This will wipe your phone clean but should mean any apps or services that may have been eating battery life will be gone as well.

6 How to disable Bixby and remap the Bixby button.

Download Bixbi Button Remaper -bxActions from the Play Store.

Follow the instructions and use ADB to fully enable all features.

Open bxactions and feel free to remap the Bixby button and volume buttons to just about any command.

7 How to make the most of gesture input.

One Handed Operation+ This Samsung App that allows you to use the sides of your phone to add custom commands.

OnePlus Gestures offers a bunch of gesture based actions you can use in addition to the Navigation Bar or the Gestures. I currently have Samsung's gestures on and have set swipe left at the bottom to open the most recent app and swipe right to open multiwindow.

Fluid Navigation Gestures is also a good app if you're looking for gesture based navigation.

Download System UI Tuner and disable heads up notifications.
The System UI Tuner app that you can install from the Play Store allows you to adjust the number of QS tiles.
I've been using SystemUI Tuner app. It actually is very functional on Samsung's Nougat. Not everything works, but the options I wanted to change/hide work fine. Also, Nova Launcher with Clix icon pack.
Simple, but clean and functional.
But you can install SystemUI Tuner from the Play Store.
So much anger over something with a two second solution.
I use SystemUI Tuner.
Comes with a quick toggle and blacklist apps.
Use system ui tuner, either the menu (Samsung might block it), or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner, and toggle off whatever you want.
System Tuner UI is nice
If you have root access this app should so what you want. Pretty sure you can do stuff without root it is just more limited. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
This app does the same for free:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I have a Pixel XL, which is affected by blue bars on the side. Might be overkill, but I was able to get around it by doing the following:
Install adb (instructions for Windows/OSX/Linux or OSX via homebrew)
Install SystemUITuner (Play Store)
Launch SystemUITuner and run adb commands as you are prompted
Go to Immersion Mode -> Navigation Bar, and then Enable App-Specific and whitelist PAD
Just a note - adb is not the same thing as root, though the capabilities are somewhat similar. Among other things, adb allows you to grant permissions to apps that they are not allowed to ask for. In this case, the critical permissions that SystemUITuner needs to access Immersion Mode (a native Android feature) is android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS.
Additionally, you could avoid the use of SystemUITuner and enable Immersive Mode globally on your device using adb (I would assume app-by-app is possible too), but SystemUITuner gives you a nice UI to work with and unlocks several other tuning options that you might find useful.
You can turn it off using this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Use an app that allows you to access System UI Tuner such as this.
While it doesn't replicate the ticker, it turns off heads up
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Install that. Use ADB. Should fulfill your need.
have you tried SystemUI Tuner?

System ui tuner by zac, (v20 owner, if you find this say hi) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It sure is! :)
You can useSystem UI Tuner altough if you're not rooted you'll have to give the app permissions via ADB
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
No worries my man!
System UI tuner works great on the S8 (source: I use it): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Install System UI Tuner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en)
Navigate to Status Bar
Disable "Clock Icon"
No root required.
I was able to customize my status bar with this app. It requires a couple adb commands from a pc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Removed clock, alarm and bt status icons.
app can remove all this and more
Edit: I am not 100% certain it will work for an icon on the left side. Someone else will need to verify. Everything I removed is on right.
System ui tuner maybe?
This is the one to go:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I used the SystemUI Tuner app
Use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner make sure you read the description on the play store. It will tell you the adb commands you will need to use to make the app work. If you have root you don't need to use the commands. Add the qs tile and then you can just toggle immersive mode on to take the screenshot, and off after.

System UI Tuner lets you modify things like notification snooze duration, number of quick settings tiles, which status bar icons to show, etc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Custom Navigation Bar lets you modify the navigation bar (lol) by adding buttons or changing the layout. If you're using gestures on MIUI obviously this doesn't apply though.

Good choice! When you get your S10, I have some recommendations for you to make your switch as great as possible:
I hope you check out those when you get your S10! All of those make a significant difference for me during regular use.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Edit: Almost forgot about https://www.reddit.com/r/S10wallpapers/ . Pretty interesting place for S10 wallpapers.
SystemUI Tuner can hide it (Volume Icon) on my 6T.
You can't use something like SystemUI Tuner to hide the icons?
Do some research, there's a lot of ways to get rid of a bunch of that bloatware.
I'd suggest starting here, here, and here.
Some of that stuff will look a little scary (specifically the first two, which require using adb), but honestly following the directions is pretty simple and while it's possible to do bad things in adb, it's unlikely you'll screw up your phone unless you do something stupid (like kill system critical apps). Do your googling homework and you should be fine. I had a similarly bloaty skin on my phone (LG V30) and after a few hours of owning it and tinkering I basically ended up with a stock android experience.
The last link is Nova Launcher. A launcher is basically a homescreen replacement. I linked you to Nova because it's one of the most popular and configurable, but there are certainly other options to look at (for instance Lawnchair is rigidly trying to emulate stock Android 8's default launcher).
Good luck!
SystemUI Tuner can hide icons on the status bar.
it's just an app on the playstore! you also need to give the app some permissions with ADB using a computer
The built in system UI tuner or the app?
if not the app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
Use this
Download this. If you have root, you're set. If not it will guide you through the command line process.
SystemUI Tuner, which requires that you run some adb commands to grant permissions
Use this to block heads up notification cards and confine notifications to the second screen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Try this app, I'm on an LOS based rom so I guess my maintainer included it but it doesn't appear to be in stock LOS.
You can either install a third party app to enable the stock Android system UI tuner or you can use adb command to fullfil that.
Here's a reddit post, here's the XDA post and here are the code
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist bluetooth,alarm_clock,rotate
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist null
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
System ui tuner. sry for not listening the full name.
System Ui tuner. From playstore. It needs a couple of adb commands from a pc to work.

Uhh why was I downvoted? This app literally does exactly what OP is wanting. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
System UI tuner for hiding status bar icons
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
No root required but you need to grant permission via adb.
You could try this app Keep in mind some things may not work.
This app works great on my Axon 7 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner But you need to give it 2 permissions through ADB
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
This app worked for me. No need to root but you need ADB on a computer. All the instructions are in the app
SystemUI Tuner has a Quick Settings Editor that should solve it.

On my Poco F3 I use SystemUI Tuner to hide some icons (not all options work, but NFC does).
Try the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner then in airplane tweaks check cell and nfc only then restart
SystemUI Turner: requires either root or granting a special ADB permission.
SystemUI Tuner let's you choose which icons to show/not show.
Yeah you can't do it by the developer options. But you can use a 3rd party app. I use this. It also allows other nifty things like hiding certain icons in the notification bar etc.
Try System UI Tuner by Zach Wander: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
You can also use SystemUI Tuner, by Zach Wander, on the playstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
It also does more stuff...
You can disable it with this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I used System UI Tuner and it worked fine. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You need to grant additional permissions in ADB. The icon in your screenshot is hidden with "mute."
I have a solution for you. Install System UI Tuner app in your device. Then you have to provide a permission which can be either granted via rooting or by using adb
I will discuss about adb method: connect your device to your pc and enable usb debugging on your device and all other things. Next, in adb have to see if your device is connected by typing the following command:
adb devices
if your device is connected then enter the following command:
.\adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
if you see no output then you've successfully granted the permission for the app Next open the System UI Tuner app and go to "Audio & Sound" option and tap on "Disable Safe audio Warning" and turn it off and press ok. You're done and enjoy!
Take a look at system ui tuner. It requires initial setup via adb
I HAVEN'T USED IT BUT THIS MIGHT HELP, BUT IT'S NOT UPDATED:

SystemUI Tuner enables immersive mode

It's normal, you can remove those icons with an app called System UI Tuner if desired.
For changing animation speed:
I use System UI Tuner
It works with both root or ADB. I would assume you will prefer ADB. Just grant the permissions over ADB (the app will guide you) and you are good to go. Quick Showcase
There are also some other useful tweaks in there, might wanna check out.
If you really want to fine tune your animations you can use a app called System UI Tuner to fine tune your animations.
Yes, what I do is set s custom DPI on the developer setting then I use an app called System UI Tuner to change the font size. No root needed, just ADB commands.
Try this.
Can make the status bar visible by a downward swipe from the top edge of the screen, not with an upward swipe.
I just use an app called System UI Tuner. There's a setting where you can fine tune your animation settings. In the app it's called "Set custom animation scales"
Not a stock way but there's an app called System UI tuner that works great. You can even uninstall it once you've decided which icons to hide and the changes will persist.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You need to use ADB to set it up, but it will let you hide the status bar on all screens. You'll just need to swipe down twice to see notifications.
Maybe try this app?
System UI Tuner has this exact toggle.
I use SystemUI Tuner to do that.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Easier to use this app to mess around with it on the fly. A bunch of other neat stuff on there too to mess around with.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Use an app like System UI Tuner. You might need to give it some quite permissive permissions (I can't remember which one I gave, possibly some though ADB). Then you can remove specific icons in Interaction > Status bar > Icon blacklist
Try this app and see if works for your device
iirc, this UI Tuner could change clock position among other cool stuff. No root required, but you have to use some adb commands. Try it and let us know.
Just use System UI Tuner.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Maybe this app will work for you: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Otherwise it just isn't compatible. There are status bar apps which may do what you want but I'm not sure
Closest workaround I found was getting systemuituner Disabling all icons in the status bar and turning on do not disturb. It's definitely not going to be as good as it was on Android 10 but it gets the job done. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
there still are some hidden remains of system ui tuner left that you can activate with this app. i had to install it to hide those annoying icons (i'm still on 11). i hope it gets changed to only show up in the quick settings in the final release!
Immersive like no top / bottom bar?
Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can use SystemUI Tuner to hide the icons from the status bar, including the clock https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
An S20 is a recent phone, how is it unable to make it through the day without dying? Might be something wrong with your battery?
Anyhow, things like Amplify and other battery saving methods are almost completely redundant on modern Android with its built in battery saving and doze utilities. I doubt you'd get any noticeable gains with this. If you do see any gains it's because you'll be killing services and receivers which will end up breaking apps and notifications anyhow so it's not very useful to the end user. Plus it hasn't been updated or supported for multiple years now so it'll probably conflict with system battery optimization or just flatout not work on Android 11 if you have that.
AdGuard, which is easily the best adblocker for Android, works without root 👍
GravityBox is neat, but you can do many things it supports without root with apps like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Add or remove whatever you want with System UI Tuner. The only thing I have showing is the time.
I managed to remove this annoying issue on my s20+ android 11. The fix is to apply full immersive mode on wild rift.
I used: SystemUi Tuner Under UI tweaks --> Immersive mode
You need write permissions for this app to work (adb). The steps to do this are already included in the app.
I think I have used this in the past. Bit finnicky to setup but it might work
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en&gl=US
TLDR you need to restore the AOSP SystemUI Tuner.
You can use the SystemUI Tuner.
I use System UI Tuner and set animations to 0.3x. Works great 👍
I'd guess the heart icon refers to some kind of "device health" monitoring, but I've no idea what the award icons refer to.
You might be able to discover what these icons are by using an app that can show/hide statusbar system icons. As part of their functionality, such apps intercept icon names (example). The apps I know of that can do this are SystemUI Tuner and Super Status Bar.
If the icons are created by apps instead of the system you should be able to find what is making them by looking at the notification log. If your device doesn't have this you might be able to use a third-party log app like this.
14 days late but I used an open source app called systemUI tuner You don't need to root but you need a computer to set it up https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I use an app called SystemUI Tuner for this. You can force apps to fullscreen in UI > Immersive Mode. Or you can choose to hide only the notification bar or the navigation bar.
Yes, checkout systemui tuner https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US&gl=US
With this you can just set bromite to navbar immersive. Anytime you go fullscreen the navbar will hide.
On stock android, this isn't possible. Atmost you can get percentage inside battery icon. You can try using System UI Tuner. Works with ADB as well as root
Try this app:
Works for me on Android 10, used to use it before QuickStar. The option is under the Touchwiz section in the app - well at least on my version.
Disclaimer:
Do not know if it works with Android 11/One UI 3.
You may have to enable the feature or other features in the app with ADB.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
SystemUI Tuner on the play store does it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
I would recommend a free tool instead :

Remove things you dont want from the tip bar
This doesn't really address your point, but if you want more quick settings as default, try SystemUI Tuner.
I have mine set to 9 (https://i.imgur.com/4GM2HjC.png) but it can go higher I think.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_GB
you might have to reboot after using the app for them to disappear
needs permissions granted through adb
lots of other useful features in the app
If you want to customize the snooze times, you can download this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US
You need to do some ADB stuff, but it's not too hard. 😀
Using an app such as system ui tuner can probably get rid of it. Try this: system ui tunerplay.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
No, it will not harm your warranty, you just reset a system variable to its default state. You can try to do it via app too https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner, but you still must grant some privileges to this app via adb
Try this app. It might need to be given permission from adb commands. But it should be able to help
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
The limit is 30 SMS messages every 30 minutes.
Changing it is not that simple, but here is a tutorial that explains the manual process via a connected PC.
Another way to alter the limit on modern versions of Android is to download this app, then change the "Custom SMS Limit" option in the "Cellular" category to a desired number. To make the change persistent, open the side menu and choose "Persistent Options" under "More" and tick the "Custom SMS Limit" option.
If that's too complicated, why not just switch to a modern (and way more secure) chat app like Signal, Telegram, Threema or WhatsApp.
Hi, where would I input or find "ims_volte" or did you mean this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Wow!! The best protip ever! This is the app i used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner I set it to 0.7 and its perfect
I know an app that can do it with ADB commands, but it's quite unstable and you have to do it every time when you reboot the phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Use this app to access the menu:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you set the gesture hint's background color to none or transparent, it will appear as a gap in some apps. Showing your wallpaper.
You can try it by installing this System UI Tuner from playstore.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can use this 3rd party app, System UI Tuner.
It has option to modify the gesture bar color.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can use System UI Tuner. Link below. It has option to disable the audio warning.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Hi,
You can install this System UI Tuner. There's an option to hide the VPN key iconm I just tried it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you just want to remove the icon, System UI tuner will probably do the trick. You'll need to use ADB to give it the relevant permissions, but once that's done there's a ton of cool stuff you can do: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I use System UI Tuner. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It's a little bit of a process but you can do a LOT with these tools at your disposal (flashing, sideloading OTAs, etc.). No root or unnecessary tweaking, you just need ADB/Fastboot tools installed on a computer. https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
Enable USB Debugging in Developer Options, attach your Pixel to a PC or Mac via cable (File Transfer), and use a command prompt from the ADB folder to enter the command given by the app itself. It takes less than 5 minutes and once you do it 1 time, the app will never ask again unless you uninstall.
That being said, 0.5 animations are pretty fast all by themselves! I just preferred a very specific speed.
This is the most common app for disabling status bar icons, System Ui Tuner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
System UI tuner. This app is amazing.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you wish to disable that icon without disabling NFC, download "System UI Tuner" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner) or any similar app. In that app, you can choose which icons actually appear in the status bar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner I use that app to hide the VPN icon.
Have you looked into an app like System UI tuner? There's hidden settings to hide and show items in the status bar. This is the one I use (ROOT)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Some ROMs can get to this without a third party app by holding the settings icon at the bottom right of the notification shade too
What you're looking for is called Immersive Mode, there are a few apps that can do it (SystemUI Tuner works well), or you can do it via a ADB command. Either way you will need to setup ADB.
To set up ADB you can follow these instructions.
SystemUI Tuner will tell you what ADB commands to run if you want to use that app.
This site tells you the ADB commands to enable immersive mode.
Might have to be rooted, but you can use this app and activate full screen immersive mode like the old days. Even comes with a handy toggle for your status bar pulldown.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US

look for the option called immersive mode, it will turn off the nav and status bars.
I do use the smallest display size setting, but if you mean the amount of toggles, I use SystemUI Tuner on the Play Store. You'll have to issue an adb command or two, but it's well worth it.
Give the mi forum a look:
Several users have been reporting these kind of issues in EU rom.
Forum link: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/quick-settings-edit-tile-missing.54865/
There several kinds of bugs on the shortcut bar which are discussed on forums don't know if this is exactly your problem.
This is one of the fixes listed on the forum, opened recently. Linked above (few months ago).
If anybody else facing the same issue, I found a fix. The issue happens after logging in to your Google and Mi accounts during device setup. How I fixed it was by installing this app from the playstore (SystemUI Turner): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner And reset quick settings tiles using it.. that's all. Now you can edit quick tiles normally without the app, because "Edit" button is back!
With https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner I could enable it successfully...
You can try this. It will help you remove the alarm icon.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_IN
You can't on a Pixel. You'll need a third party app (SystemUI Tuner
Use SystemUI Tuner but it is a little bit involved. You'll need a PC with ADB to grant certain permissions.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner Just follow the instructions in the app.
I found this on a forum

I use systemui tuner which let's you customize the hide time. So I only hide mine once every 24 hours. I haven't tried going higher than that...probably works tho: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You can use the app systemui tuner and set in "immersive mode" the option to "status bar". This way you have full screen in all apps except on the home screen. You even have an option for a white list to have the status bar enabled on all the apps you like to. This app is easier to customize everything to your wishes then a permanent adb comand imo.
Edit: link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
For the status bar I use SystemUI Tuner. Not sure about the recents menu though, the one by one arrangement is super annoying.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
This is the app I used to control enabling immersive mode on my Android device. I used it on a Samsung device but it should work on any modern version of Android. It allows you to choose nav bar/status bar and white/blacklist apps.
I know System UI Tuner is in stock Android but if it doesn't have the options, this app works.
I've used SystemUI Tuner on another device with success. Just be careful.
if you really want, system ui tuner can do this, iirc. you need either root or to enable it with adb for the first time you use it though.
It's possible to get rid of it with the System UI Tuner app. Just grant it the secure settings permission in ADB, open the app and go to the Miscellaneous tab.
Use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner but you need an PC
Pixel Launcher might have access to location.
You can either disable all apps that have location access in the background, or you can use System UI Tuner to hide the location icon permanently.
There is an app called systemUI Tuner,it allows you to remap the left and right shortcuts on the lock screen.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If your device is rooted, System UI Tuner will do this and more, give it a try.
System UI Tuner lets you toggle it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
What does the notification say again?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Needs adb
Can set up app per app basis fullscreen/not full/etc.
> How do you remove the time on the home screen?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_CA
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner System UI tuner can do this, this isn't an overlay, you can move the clock to the middle and this is a function built into android, you just can't easily access it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Sorry, should have added that. It allows a lot of customization without root. I got rid of everything personally, as I love the large, full screen.
With adb commands you can give those kinds of permissions to apps like system UI tuner or fluidNG that can basically give you the option to go into immersive mode (no status bar)
I haven't used these in a while, but you might need to turn on immersive mode in general and just blacklist every app you want the status bar in
.5x all day. You can even use SystemUI Tuner to achieve .25x (anything from .01x to 5x)
If you're looking to just remove the icon, not change the settings, I use SystemUI Tuner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner) to hide icons that get on my nerves. I haven't seen that particular icon, but chances are it'd be able to pick it out.
Yup this is the first thing I do whenever I get a new phone. I use a application called system UI tuner. This give me me the option of fine tuning the animations.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You might be able to remove the carrier data with the app System UI Tuner
You mean heads up notifications, the ones that appear on screen for a few seconds before sliding up into the notification drawer?
You can try using System UI Tuner, it's an app that allows you to customize several under the hood options in Android. It has a toggle for heads up notifications, but I'm not sure if it works on all versions of Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You'll need to use adb (a developer utility you install on your PC) to give SUT the permissions to change these settings; it can seem intimidating if you've never used it before, but it's perfectly safe and actually quite easy.
I disabled it with System UI tuner
set animation speed to .25X with SystemUI Tuner, best of both worlds!
I'm not sure if it works on android 10, by try System UI Tuner
You should be able to remove the status bar with System UI Tuner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en_US). Follow the instructions in the app.
Sorry to say, that's not related at all. It's not a notification, it's a system icon. Here's a guide on how to use it. If you can't follow these instructions (like me, thanks Samsung) you can instead use this app. I'm pretty sure you have to grant it permissions using ADB.
I think this would fix your problem- when an app leaves the navigation bar or notification bar in place but I don't want it to, I use SystemUI Tuner to turn in immersive mode. You can set it to hide the navigation bar, notification bar, or both, and can set a quick settings tile to toggle it if you want to.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Hopefully it'll fix your problem- I'm used to the full navigation bar staying though, not just a black bar and the home button.
Zacharee's SystemUI Tuner does that for you.
I use System UI Tuner to turn off NFC and other status-bar notifications.
System UI Tuner works for me:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I am on Android Pie, so hopefully it works on Q. After installation the "Battery" Tile should be available in the Quicksettings editor. There are also apps out there that will let you use a desktop widget for battery level if you prefer that.
I had the same problem on my Pixel 2 since the Android 9 beta. I ended up downloading System UI Tuner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner) and forcing SSG3 into Immersive Mode.
Thank you, SystemUI Tuner worked, although it did not work from its settings toggle, had to use the quick setting for Heads Up Notifications in the notification panel quick settings (see this issue).
Actually, after using the phone for a day, with the heads up notifications disabled through SystemUI Tuner, the heads up notifications get re-enabled on their own after some random time (see this issue).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner this one? If it is would you mind me asking how to use the app to disable that?
I just tried it and it's not working for me. I have an US unlocked Galaxy S8 on the Pie beta.
Can you confirm if it's this SystemUI Tuner? Did you do anything besides grant the necessary permissions, and toggle Headphone Volume warning under "Miscellaneous"? Is it supposed to be toggled "on" or "off"? In any case, I tried both and neither did anything.
Samsung devices can move the clock using the Good Lock app. SystemUI Tuner should be available on any recent Android device (or you can install this if your OEM hides it) regardless of manufacturer.
This should work:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Doesn't require root, just some ADB commands.
Alternate answer, since I have not tried GoodLock yet, is to use SystemUI Tuner. I've been using it anyway to hide the Bluetooth icon since I never turn BT off and don't need an icon wasting space, and it moves the clock too.
Agree it's been flaky. I've ended up using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner which provides a nice gui for all the tweaks.
I especially hate that Bluetooth connected icon that shows up all the time.. I know my watch is connected anyway!
Word of warning that quickstar can override some of these settings too..
Yep, just go to the Google Play Store and download. Click Immersive Mode and enable "Full". This will hide the nav bar unless you swipe down to show it again.
Yes. Download system ui tuner from google play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner) then give perms through adb. It's easy, if you dont know look it up.
If you're willing to do some Adb mumbo-jumbo, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner System UI Tuner works fine for me. Among other things, you can remove just about anything from the status bar, move the clock around etc.
>I am feeling a little scatterbrained today and surprised after reading that you could not find your device drivers by doing by searching : "your device + XDA"
>
>So I re-read the first few comments on this thread. Somehow I thought that I was talking to someone who has a Moto G5 which is why I mentioned that I do not have one. Since the Moto forums are extremely easy to find on XDA, and the OP's of each Lineage Rom usually provides adequate if not highly in depth instructions for all the steps/files that are needed to run the rom with successm I am left wondering : Do you have a Moto G5? ( Edit , I now know that you have a Asus Zenfone max pro M1 (ZB601KL), I am looking for your radio driver firmware and will update this post once I find it)
>
>~~If not, which device you own? It seems that you never mentioned which phone you have, or which version of Lineage you are using etc.~~ ( Lineage 15.1 , Asus Zenfone max pro M1 (ZB601KL),)
>
>BTW, TWRP does not control the permissions, that is handled by the Rom, and can be changed by having root, then using a rooted file manager, adb or programs such as Commander One. Obviously If you need to change root permissions you will need to have root access.
>
>You had everything checked in Twrp, and usually restoring the backup works. However, I too have had occasions where it did not work. I have been in the habit resolving those issues by dirty flashing the Rom and then flashing SuperSu . If you search for Recovery restoration issues, you will find many cases where flashing SuperSu was the solution, it doesn't matter that you backup had Su, you still need to reflash Su again.
>
>Personally, I have not had much success with Lineage Addon Su, So I have always used the original Chainfire versions of SuperSU. However, I understand that a new version of Su is now available on the Lineage website. So maybe it's fantastic? Next, I personally prefer Magisk because of the convenience of using the Magisk manager and built in access to a large repository of handy Magisk modules.
>
>FYI when you remove Su, you will need to reflash your boot.img and then flash Magisk..I like to use the canary builds. Finally, it sucks to have to rebuild everything, but if you backed all of your settings up with the google account backup, Google will restore alot of those time consuming steps. I just bought a Xiaomi Mi8 and the Mi Cloud restoration is the best that I have used yet.
>
>Okay, now that I know what device you have, I am thinking that you have something in your user data part of storage that is persisting through the recovery restore...its not being overwritten and so the issue is not going away. Quite a few people had success with that hack, maybe you had a typo?
>
>Regardless, you should just bite the bullet and do a clean install and stay away from these hacks in the future. Just back your memes up to the desktop and if possible check that your google account is fully backed up, this way many of your settings will be restored.
>
>Since you have a capable phone so why not upgrade to a Pie Rom?
>
>Should wipe and reinstall Lineage 15.1 someone on the XDA thread that you linked suggested using this UI tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner I use this program for its full immersive mode..its awesome.

Here is the most recent edited stock firmware : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79064352&postcount=675Unfortunately I also can not find just the basic boot imgs with radio drivers. The file at the link is 1.6 GB while the radio drivers firmware that I am referring to is usually small in comparison: Usually between 80 MB to 400MB depending on the device. It appears that none of the developers have gotten around to extracting those files from the Asus stock rom and creating a quick fix solution.
SystemUI Tuner lets you hide both status and navigation bars, or just one of them when you open a list of chosen apps. Look for Immersive mode within the app.
Be aware that it requires either root permissions, or a computer to authorize the app to modify system settings. The latter is safer and easier to do. The app explains how to set it up, and it's only needed to be done once.

Open Package Disabler Pro, and type in "Samsung Experience Home" in the search bar. You should see the icon of a small house with an "S" inside it by the same name. Press the check box next to the right of it and you are done. NOTE: This will also disable gesture input, so make sure the Navigation Bar is enabled.

Type (or copy and paste) the following commands into ADB.
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
Go to the app on the phone, press "To the tweaks" and press "Status Bar".
At the bottom, press "Custom" and press "Add item".
In the key, type right_clock_position and name it whatever you like, such as Right hand clock.
Now, set the toggle on the right of the item to the off position and you're done.
4 (Workaround) How to enable "hide navigation bar gesture" with third party navigation bar AND restore "long press of recent apps key for multi-window/splitscreen".

Make sure all tabs are enabled, especially "Adaptive Battery".

you have to register for the beta release, grant all permissions and voila
Just use SystemUI tuner or SamTweak2 to get rid of the warning. You don't even need root.
Redoing notification priorities was almost a disaster, but so far I haven't noticed any loss of functionality. The menu is just different and the defaults do not hide the app icons for persistent notifications.
But this clock shit? Suddenly I don't feel weird about wearing a watch in 2019. It hasn't even been an hour, but I'm not going to put up with constantly thinking I've got a notification in my peripheral vision. Thank God for System UI Tuner.
Also, what the actual Hell is going on with the huge black space at the top of the pull-down settings shade?
Over on the Pixel subreddit, users mention a Submit Feedback feature under System\About phone, but I see nothing here. Though, considering there are still no non-root options despite Pie having been available for this long, I sincerely doubt it'll change this late into the game.
What a damn shame. Still love my XZ1C to death, but I really wish I would have paid closer attention to what was included in this update before going through with the installation.
You could with root by editing the build.prop, but the downside would be that fingerprint reader or the gestures would become useless, but it's hard to say which. One would be annoying, the other a problem.
That's why Moto hides the nav bar the way it does, so it can easily be returned to provide navigation when the FPR is expecting a fingerprint. It's also why you can't change keyboards using the input method notification in the notifications panel, because the key is on the far right of the nav bar, but just hidden off screen. Hopefully they finally fix that in Pie (it's easy to work around, but still annoying). And I can't check if they fixed in 8.1 on the Z3 because it has a nav bar even for the gesture pill, so the input method picker key is visible.
You can use an app called System UI Tuner to add a quick settings tile for immereive mode (you configure in the app what mode it uses), and then you just swipe in from top or bottom to show system UI. But I haven't tested to see if that fixes the Assistant overlay not being so overlaid issue. It might work. It hasn't bothered me enough to research that thoroughly. Still, that is a nice app for some other basic tweaks that don't need root.
You can do some things using SystemUI Tuner but you need to give it some permissions via adb (which is simple to do).
Give this app a shot. I have the OG Pixel and after one of the updates removed the settings means of siding the system ui tuner, this restored a lot of the functionality. I've had it installed for a long time so I don't recall if this is one of them that needed it, but while it doesn't require root to work it might need a command run in adb to work. Give it a shot; worst case scenario it won't work for you.
It opens the systemUI tuner, although some options are missing. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=pt_BR this one claims to have more options, but it needs adb and I haven't tested it yet.
Take a look at "SystemUI Tuner" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Heads up? This can turn that off. Need root or run ADB commands.
Status bar customization can be done with SystemUITuner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Thats the app. You need a windows pc and run a few adb commands to setup. Its explained in the app. Xda.com has info on adb if you don't know how to use it.
Black screen and system UI has stopped after tweaking with the SystemUI Tuner app
I was browsing through SystemUI Tuner's options, and I noticed a slider to change the number of shortcuts displayed at the top while the shortcuts aren't pulled down. By curiosity, I tried setting it to the minimum value, one.
Immediately, system UI crashes. Black screen.
I reboot the phone, same thing.
I try to boot into safe mode, same thing, with a text saying "Safe mode" at the bottom left corner*
Next, recovery mode. Total blackness.
While I transfer my SIM & SD cards to my old phone, and reboot it, my Nokia shows the Android one splash screen, and shows me the animation telling that the battery is changing its percentage.
It's late for me and I can't access my computer until tomorrow, but I had an idea I might just be able to factory reset via ADB. But if I can't approve the connection on my phone, I'll not be able to access it via ADB ?
I'm a bit stuck, and I need help.
Specs: - Nokia 6.1
Android O 8.1
August security update
Android's system UI tuner turned on
Developper options + USB debugging activated
ADB permissions granted to SystemUI Tuner (the app):
I'm also using Nova launcher
Can't think of anything else to put in specs, ask me anything that can help.
*Safe mode may be called otherwise, my phone showed "Mode sans échec", since I'm French, but I'm pretty sure it's that
I recently installed on my X4 the SystemUI Tuner app, and it has a toggle to disable the headphone volume warning (as well as to configure many other things). Might be worth a look.
If OnePlus doesn't give you access to immersive mode, you'll need to use ADB. I'd recommend System UI Tuner to have an easily accessible quick settings tile.
Here's an old post that goes into it more, but it has been awhile since then—check the System UI Tuner instructions to make sure nothing has changed. Or, you can skip System UI Tuner and enter just ADB commands, but you'll need to look up the relevant ones—and you'll need to connect your phone to your computer when you want to toggle/undo it.
If you turn on immersive mode, the navigation bar will hide when not in use. If that option is hidden on your device, System UI Tuner can give you access to it.
Currently using this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Works pretty nicely, just needs some adb commands. Let's you tweak everything from status bar to animation speeds !
Yeah, there's a 3rd party app version called SystemUI Tuner. It's straightforward to use. I don't remember if you can disable the battery icon alone.
You can also do what that app does with adb commands.
And recommend this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
try SystemUI Tuner
This helps, but only while in the "first stage" of the notification shade.... once you swipe down again, it goes back to 3 columns unfortunately.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you have a phone from one of the companies that block access to this, System UI Tuner allows you to have easily accessible toggles instead of needing ADB every time you want to change a setting.
Immersive mode can be set up to just hide the status bar I think; System UI Tuner app has an immersive mode settings area you can use to see how it's set, try unchecking everything and see if that fixes the problem:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I have the Bixby button set to toggle immersive mode and when it's on I have the same issue you're describing.
Your best bet for a system wide solution is System UI Tuner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
You will need a computer so you can run three commands via adb. Only needs to happen once
Try SystemUI Tuner from the app store.
If it doesn't let you download it get it from APKMirror
It worked for me. Hope it helps you too.
> com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Good suggestion! And does not require root, only ADB to set up initially.
So far, I had only used it to get rid of the NFC icon in the status bar.
You can try this app to activate SystemUI tuner. I didn't try it myself but I heard it worked.
just install any systemui tuner app (I use this) and change it back to whatever you want
install any systemui tuner app (I use this) and change whatever you want
you can uninstall the app after that, the settings will persist
I did it on my LG G6 with the following app. Doesn't require root, is manufacterer independed. Only some adb command to give is user rights: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
Yessir/ma'am! I have the app System UI Tuner. Since they removed the menus for the Tuner, I mostly was wanting to be able to remove icons from my status bar but this little sucker also lets me play around with some other settings among which is the number of quick toggles that show up.
This is a little late, but this app should do exactly what you need it to do

Download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner and follow the instructions it gives you to run a couple ADB commands using a computer while your phone is plugged in. That particular icon is the Rotation Lock. You can also disable any of the other icons, but I've found that the 4G LTE icon and the battery icon cannot be disabled.
You can use the app to enable the system ui tuner, which allows you to remove the icons you don't want. You have to use Adb if you aren't rooted. Here's the app It shows the instructions when you open it
My quick toggles at the top have an option for "Immersive Mode" that hides both the nav bar and the status bar (though you can still swipe to expose them as needed). No root. Do you not have this? (I have a few things installed, like Nova, BxAction, SystemUI Tuner... it's possible one of them added it.)
Edit: It seems it was SystemUI Tuner. I'd still recommend it over ADB commands to adjust overscan, since you can toggle it as desired from the status pulldown without being at a PC.
I use system ui tuner to hide the nav bar and then use pie controls. Just make sure you white list all the system background apps or it can be a little buggy. There are also people that say they have issues if they hide the notification bar but that's not what I use it for. No root required but there are a few extra steps it walks you through.
Here's a thread about removing status bar icons using adb commands. You can also use the System UI Tuner app like the other poster mentioned which does the same thing, and will be simpler if you're not use to using adb.
You can hide it with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Everyone give this app a go too! Lets you change so much stuff, hide icons, etc.
Actually I just discovered SystemUI Tuner can change the color to whatever you set it as. It's under the TouchWiz category.
Not sure if this was only Oreo but it's very handy!
It's a pretty easy fix though, no root necessary.
I used SystemUI Tuner to remove the extra icons I didn't want, and Substratum + Andromeda + Samsung System Mods to remove the AM/PM next to the clock.
All you need for both of those is ADB.There used to be two issues in Nougat where SystemUI would repeatedly crash if you rebooted unexpectedly with icons hidden through SystemUI Tuner or if you updated with a substratum theme applied, but both issues have been fixed in Oreo, so it's just a set and forget solution.
I use System UI Tuner to enable full immersive mode (and then move the status bar information to the second screen) sometimes and don't have the problem you are detailing. So, if you still wish to hide your navigation bar, maybe consider using immersive mode instead.
I have 2 V20s and only one has image retention (yet?). For me, it's always the left and right edges that ghost, and sometimes light-colored elements elsewhere. I've never had any problem with the navigation bar ghosting. But, since it's an LCD screen, it wouldn't really matter if it did (I mean, aside from it being annoying until it went away) since it'd be temporary. If I had an AMOLED screen, I'd definitely be using immersive mode all the time to avoid permanent uneven screen degradation/burn-in. So, if you find hiding the navigation bar to be annoying, I'd just stop since it doesn't have any long-term significance with this phone.
It does not require root, just ADB. You'll need the ADB tool for your computer so you can either download the SDK Platform-Tools (much smaller download, just the tools included), SDK Manager, or full Android Studio to get it.
Install System UI Tuner. Enable USB debugging in the Developer Options section of your V20's settings (about phone, software information, tap build number 7 times to unlock developer options). Install ADB, open up CMD on your PC (from the right click menu within the folder with ADB in it if you haven't added it to System Path), type "adb devices" (no quotes) and confirm the prompt that shows up on your phone. Open up the Play Store page for System UI Tuner and copy each command line—paste and hit enter after each one.
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
Disconnect your phone and you're done. You could have the whole thing done in five minutes. I use it primarily for Night Mode. This link covers how, including adding to System Path (which lets you give ADB commands in Command Prompt without opening it from the ADB folder). Personally, I'd take the extra 5 minutes and add it to the System Path.
The album says there are no pictures in it. You can probably use system ui tuner to remove it though.
SystemUI Tuner... maybe
Yes you can, but it does require an app and 3 permissions granted via ADB OR root. it offers so much more goodies as well.
Try This App (SystemUI Tuner) . Since the intergraded SystemUI Tuner is disabled on Samsung phones.
there are several ways to do it - some as crude as just executing a few adb commands, and some other apps that make it easier to toggle on/off.
i use SystemUI Tuner with no performance or battery issues: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
User this app to enable immersive mode system wide which will hide navbar
I have a V20. Turning on comfort view reduces the image retention, especially on high. If you enable night mode through ADB (I used System UI Tuner), it reduces it even further.
But, it's temporary and will go away on its own—there is no removing it.
You can turn on immersive mode with some apps like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It's way slower and more complicated. This app is easier and faster to do the same thing. :)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Try the immersive mode quick settings toggle with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en
It requires a PC with ADB to grant the right permissions, but that's a quick one-time annoyance.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner You'll have to have some working knowledge of ADB!
I've gotten rid of most of these via ADB. You can do it yourself or try out System Ui tuner or similar https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
This is native to android 7+. Not sure why Samsung removed the capability.
I see it too, though I don't think it's contributing to battery drain as such, since the icon remains active despite disabling the location settings. That said, it does bug me. I've hidden the icon using SystemUI Tuner. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you wish to customize which icons appear on the status bar without an app, Google how to use the icon_blacklist command in adb.
It's much easier to use the SystemUI Tuner app to accomplish the same.
Try out SystemUi Tuner, I've managed to get seconds, I don't know if there's anything for removing the am\pm
The System UI Tuner app is way easier than ADB commands.
Yup, I've been complaining about the Nav bar since this whole fiasco.
Yeah, it sucks that I had to reinstall everything, but I've kinda learned that time and time again when I was in my "installing custom roms" phase.
The nav bar is just gross IMO, I only use gestures.
EDIT: I did however find a workaround that actually works. There is an app called SystemUI Tuner it doesn't require root, however you do have to input code using ADB which the app gives instructions if you haven't done it before.
(Don't worry, it won't screw your phone up as it's not rooting)
With this app, you can turn on "Immersion mode" which hides the Nav bar.
System Ui Tuner can Disable Notification Ticker.
Looks like a carrier setting. Just checked out Orange F's smartphone collection and almost all the phones pictured have "Orange F" in the status bar so the notification icons are moved over to make room.
You might be able to get it back to normal with this app I found on XDA Developers. Or you might be able to use a different launcher, but I've never tried any so don't blame me if it doesn't work.
Good luck and let us know if any of this helped because it might help others, too.
You can download system ui tuner from the play store. You need to run some adb commands to get it working properly, but it's definitely worth it. Formatting might be weird because I'm on mobile, but here's the link for the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It happens every time I use Daydream. It blocks system UI notifications afterward. I use the SystemUI Tuner app on the Play Store to fix it. Under Miscellaneous turn on Power Notifications, then you can re-enable them. It's annoying because everytime I use Daydream I have to go through this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Doesn't require root.
But if you just want the arrows off, don't think anything can do that.
Nova Launcher at bare minimum. Zacharee1's SystemUI Tuner is pretty great, too.
Some others I enjoy:
Beyond that:
Try this.
Us system ui tuner from zachree1.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner and use and press and hold on card and set to low importance
Not a solution. Here's a solution: Use this to block heads up notification cards and confine notifications to the second screen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Use this to block heads up notification cards and confine notifications to the second screen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
System UI Tuner has a demo mode option. But can cause some Samsung phones to have issues
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner lets you do this without root. (Disable the icon on this app, then enable percentage the normal way.)
I can only speculate, and that would be that Samsung's TouchWiz doesn't read and use the setting so it's not 'respected'.
Just randomly came across this app, SystemUI Tuner, in the Play Store that aims to provide the functionality that Google's SystemUI Tuner app does on phones where the manufacturer has not included it.
May be worth a shot for you? However, bear in mind
FYI....make clean short cuts for your links = [ name ]( link )...obviously without spaces = systemuituner
Use this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It has many features for touchwiz and other ROMs, requires no root but you have to run some commands from an ADB terminal. The app guides you through it so it isn't that hard.
I'm using this one but there's a couple more in the app store under different names
Install this app and issue it the require adb command once. No root required. Brings back System Tuner UI functions, granular controls of notifications.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
I don't think there's a way to get a centered clock. The other 2 however are very doable with this app. Make sure to read the description so you don't brick your device though.
Themes are applied system-wide so you'll only lose out on launcher-specific theme properties. All the system elements will remain.
Install System UI Tuner, which enables the Android system UI tuner (which is turned off and hidden on Samsung devices) and there you have full control over the Statusbar. I use this, too, but I wanted to get rid of several other icons, e.g. Alarm, Bluetooth etc.
My alarm is turned on all the time, so I don't need to see an alarm icon and I'm constantly connected to my smartwatch and other Bluetooth devices, so I don't need to Bluetooth icon and so on.
Highly recommend :)
> System UI tuner
Do you use this one and does it work well?
> Control the importance level of notifications (7.0+; doesn't work well on Samsung)
in the description it said this :/
use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner and turn on adb access with your computer so it can access what it needs to in order to work. I use this app to turn off my bluetooth icon since it was always up there (leave BT on for my Gear S3).
Having to silence notifications just to get to stop popping over your apps blows.
Enable Power Notification Settings with SystemUITuner: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&rdid=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It'll let you stop it from doing the "peek" notifications. If it won't let you change the settings then tap the 'A' for automatic like a madman until it unchecks, then select the setting.
Otherwise this will disable peeking globally: adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
For me, this one is confirmed working, while the XDA thread posted above doesn't. Better, the settings will stick even if I remove the app afterwards, so it doesn't have to occupy a space in the app drawer.
Thanks, thought I was out of options since the descent of Xposed.
Link to the app: Play Store
No root. It just needs this app and two adb cmds.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
If you're familiar with ADB and running its commands, you can download this app, which will allow you to remove status bar icons, that one should be included.
I use this myself and can confirm that it works after running the instructed ADB commands that the app tells you to run.
Otherwise, without doing something like this, there is no solution other than maybe a status bar overlay app, but those are kind of wonky, in my opinion.
This works great to remove most of the notification icons. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
this app will let you customise the status bar, you need to issue it a couple of commands by a computer first though.
This app is working, but you will need to grant it some permissions, via ADB. (Instructions are in the app.) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner

I know this is a few weeks old, but I just found this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner&hl=en&rdid=com.zacharee1.systemuituner . Works great
SystemUI Tuner in the Play Store. It allows you to make some system level changes to UI. For instance I remove my Battery, Bluetooth and LTE icons from my status bar.
You can still remove the time by installing systemui tuner from the play store, grant it the needed privileges via adb and then go in and hide the clock. The only thing is that you need to do this every time you reboot unfortunately. But if you're like me, you probably don't reboot very often... At least it's a way to get rid of the clock until Sammy fixes their apps!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
It's quite similiar to my case earlier.
With the SystemUI Tuner you can use Immersive Mode: Navbar and achieve Auto-Hide Navbar, like in the Oreo. Screenshots.

SystemUI Tuner works well on Pie and has more features than the original. You can even hide the VPN icon.
