Reddit is Fun Golden Platinum. I've used Sync, Relay, Boost, Joey but keep coming back to RIF.
Edit: Here's the link Play Store
For Android, Reddit is Fun aka RiF is what I've used for years. It's minimalist (which translates to the easiest to consume the most content in the shortest period of time, in my experience) plus the developer is super active and the community is great: /r/redditisfun.
Aside from that, Sync and Relay are both nicely featured and quite popular, as is baconreader to a slighly lesser extent. Having used them all, it basically just comes down to personal preference.
For iOS, Apollo is the way to go.
Can add a filter to the sublist to only include "mod" which will give you a multireddit frontpage of your subs.
Can report, spam, remove, approve, marknsfw, flair. Get 5 min scans intervals on notifications for modmail.
Has a tab for modque, and collapsible modmail threads.
Easily change between account with 2 or 3 presses.
It's been my goto app for over a year and a half now.
Yeah this one: reddit is fun golden platinum (unofficial)
Bought it years ago to get rid of the ads and support the developer who is very helpful.
It has sound. Stop using the official Reddit mobile app. It inexplicably doesn't let you hear the sound on imbedded videos. Recommend RIF instead.
reddit is fun. It has all the features I need and few that I don't. It has received timely updated consistently since the dawn of time. I've tried Relay, Sync, Boost, Slide, Infinity and a bunch of others. There really is a great selection to choose from. But rif is the first I started using an eternity ago. I've had my flirts with other apps for up to a year at a time, but I've kept coming back to rif.
Reddit Is Fun or RiF is Fun (had to change the name when the official app came out)
Switch it to classic view and night mode and you're golden. I paid the few bucks to get rid of ads too and it's very worth it.

On Android, The Firefox app supports extensions. You can get ad blockers to block everything or, if you really wanted to go the extra mile, you could create a custom filter to block specific ads but not all.
For Reddit, I use a third party app that's way cleaner than the official one. There's a free version with ads but I paid like $3 one time and have had ad free Reddit for years. It lacks a lot (filler) features but it's honestly great. No rewards on every post (just shows gold and platinum), no live streams, just posts and comments. The way I like it. Plus it has a nice lefty mode.
If you want a solution, open it in reddit is fun (which is the best reddit app for android, you should be using it anyway) - the full image loads in its built-in browser.
If you want an alternative, I could send you a nice photo of a small horse?
If you're on Android, try rif is fun golden platinum for Reddit. I've been using it for years. Has a great layout, just make sure to turn of cards. It tends to turn itself off on subreddits with a lot of pictures (/r/pics , /r/memes for example).
Personally for mobile I use this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation&hl=en_US
I don't have a rooted/dev unlocked phone at this moment, and it allows me to browse without any bullshit.
I loved this post so much, I momentarily installed the Android Reddit app so I could gild it. Then I uninstalled that festering pile and went back to RIF to tell you that's how much I liked it.
(Paid the $3 or whatever it was for Reddit is Fun Gold Platinum years ago cuz it's my favorite Android client.)
golden platinum for life. It's far and away the best money I've spent on an app, ever. For the pittance of something like $3 I've put an absurd amount of time into using this app and it's been nothing but exactly what I want, every time. An absolute masterclass in function over form, and I don't think it's even close, no other app I've tried gets the information density this high while not turning into some terrible UX nightmare.
Get reddit is fun golden platinum for 2.99 you get ad free mobile reddit forever. This isn't me shilling them, it's just that it's a much better investment than getting ad-free reddit with gold. There are other apps that probably do the same thing, that's just the one that I use.
> And if someone can tell me how to block these on mobile I'd really appreciate it.
This Android app can filter posts based on flairs. Not sure about it's free variant, or other apps for Android, or even apps for iOS or other systems.
I use an app on my phone, but I hear there's no css available in the mobile site.
I guess that's a no.
It's a thing people complain about but no one is keen to fix. This is why I spent $2 on a third party app.
If you are on Android try Reddit is Fun or Bacon Reader.
I'd rather see an AMS Campaign ad, than blockchain spam, a poorly designed Star Trek mobile game, a CollegeHumor series about student debt and a Massdrop ad for headphones.
If you're looking for a new reddit app that doesn't display ads, reddit is fun Platinum is my pick.
I use RIF is fun on my Android phone, and Apollo on my iPad and work iPhone
Cool kids rock this. Dafuq is an ad?
Why....Reddit is Fun Gold Platinum with a curated news Multireddit, of course!
You could always buy the premium version, which supports the developers and removes advertisements.
The developer does not really have precise control over the individual ads that appear in RiF. Instead, RiF utilizes several different advertising frameworks (such as Google AdMob) which handles the entire process of selecting, displaying, and tracking impressions/conversions of ads shown to users.
The developer is able to blacklist individual ads to prevent a specific ad from being displayed if they are particularly vulgar, obscene, disturbing, or offensive... but doing so is a somewhat involved process, so it simply isn't feasible for the developer to blacklist every ad that somebody complains about.
So if you do not like the kinds of ads being displayed in RiF, you have a few options:
Under Settings --> General Settings, disable the "Ads & pro features" option
(Note: this will disable several features in RiF that many users find useful, however it still remains an option.)
Purchase the Golden Platinum version of RiF for a single, one-time purchase [Google Play Store | Amazon Appstore].
(Doing this helps support the developer and ensures he can continue to devote his time and resources into developing new features for RiF and continue improving the app.)
Buy yourself reddit gold and then select the "Hide ads" option under Settings --> General Settings. For as long as your account has an active reddit gold status, this will give you all of the same features/functionality as the Golden Platinum version does but without ads (with the added benefit of supporting the reddit platform).
(This option doesn't help support the developer, at all, but it does help support reddit and having it gives you a bunch of other perks on reddit. And the fact that the developer treats having reddit gold as effectively being the same as having the paid version of RiF, despite receiving no benefit or compensation for doing so and is actually losing ad revenue from those users is pretty damn cool.)
Absolutely RIF, due to its optimal build (minimalistic, while sufficient).
If you are on android, I use Reddit is Fun which allows me to filter by my frontpage.
Yes, it is called reddit is fun golden platinum
If in-app ads bother you, it could be worth the money to pay for premium versions without them, such as reddit is fun golden platinum or gReader Pro.
DraStic DS Emulator is also worth buying. It emulates the Nintendo DS without lag, and has a lot of customization available (you can arrange the dual screens and buttons, enter custom cheat codes, etc).
Reddit is Fun is probably your best bet.
Use Rif is fun on Android, or Apollo on iphone.

Reddit is Fun Golden Platinum. It's the Reddit app I like to use while on Android.
might just be called "golden platinum" I forget =)
I use an app, redditisfun golden platinum, developed by /u/TalkLittle.
RiF Golden Platinum on Google Play Store. I've been using it for about 4 years, never had a problem with it.
Reddit is Fun app. Clean and easy to use, unlike the official app that someone threw in a blender.

reddit app with no ads: Reddit is Fun GP
Reddit is Fun is my favorite reddit app. It does have a free version. But i prefer buying my apps.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
Man, I'm going to die if RiF or old.reddit.com go away. That is some stone cold nonsense right there.
On Android, RIF is Fun.
Also, what app are you using? The official reddit app? This one is the best one I've tried.
Rif is my favourite. You can disable infinite scrolling.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
Are you using this version of the app?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
That's what I'm using and it's perfect.
Jo. Ich empfehle aber, stattdessen die Premium-Version zu nehmen, weil werbefrei.
Used to be called "reddit is fun". I highly recommend it
I like reddit is fun. Link is for the paid version with no ads but the free version is also good https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
Reddit is Fun does, I've linked the paid version but there is a free version. It's the app I always go back to!
Hi everyone,
I'd like to recommend installing either a third party reddit app (Reddit is Fun for Android or Apollo for Reddit) or use an adblocker like uBlock Origin to avoid seeing ads and getting every pageview and action tracked by the official reddit app.
Reddit moderators have no way to report or choose the ads shown on the subreddit, and thus we're being targeted by leveling services and other underhanded piloting companies.
No, I mean this.
I paid $1.99 four years ago for RIF Golden Platinum, and it has zero ads.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
I hope it's not country locked.
I'm attaching the link for you, just in case https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
Which has a paid version...
edit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation
I'm using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation&hl=en
And I didn't see it as a crosspost.
> Reddit is Fun Golden (Platinum)
I don't recall, but here's a link.
Maybe you bought it? It looks like there is a paid version of the app that is ad-free.
reddit is fun golden platinum
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.redditdonation&hl=en
IMO This is the easiest and quickest to use Android Reddit client.
Pay the small fee for Reddit is Fun and see no ads ever.

So, this is what I use on Android.
i'm using "reddit is fun" and I can flair no problem
Reddit is fun golden platinum. In my opinion, best reddit app.
Twilight. I just discovered this app last night. I've had problems sleeping since my first deployment in '06. Twilight helps you sleep, by dimming the blue light from your phone screen. So far, in one night. Its already helped.
Circa. You set up your prefences and it'll give you a daily news brief.
Weather bug. Again, just my opinion, but the best weather app I've used. You get storm alerts, live weather tracking, and when its thunder and lighting outside, it'll give you a radar screen with how far or close strikes are to your current location.
Tune in. I use it as my go to app for anything NPR, or pod cast related. I picked up the full version for free off amazon at one point.
Than I have all my shooting (weapons) apps, than driving apps like torque and racing meter.
Yeah there's a premium version.

They're really improved MM, have a modqueue view, and now support mute/ban/spam/lock/nsfw/flair straight from the app.
