I'm testing the IOTA beta client on android, seems to work very similar to the windows light wallet, haven't extensively used it but so far I haven't had an issue with it
"IOTA Wallet (BETA)" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Cheers!
I'm pretty sure I had used the Android Iota wallet beta to generate my seed way back when (link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet)
should I be generating my own seed if this is the case? Or is it fine??
Don't think there is a compatible wallet for ChromeOS (except you want to compile it yourself). But afaik it is possible to run Android Apps on it, right? In that case you could use the android wallet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Is it an open beta? Where can I download it?
Edit: Is it this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Edit 2: It doesn't seem like it's that one. Changelog hasn't posted any updates for a while.
what do you mean? there is just one wallet there. that's just for different operating systems. if you have windows, download the 'exe', if you have osx download the 'dmg'.
alternatively, you can also download the Android wallet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
For Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Developer (according to Google Play):
Email IOTA Foundation, Schlüterstraße 55, 10629 Berlin
BTW: This wallet has a 2.7 of 5 stars user rating. Probably the worst rating of any mobile wallet available ;)
Look what Android users think about IOTA's mobile wallet. Currently IOTA wallet is getting a 2.8 star (from 5 stars) recommendation.
That's probably the worst recommendation for all wallets available at GooglePlay. Read the devastating comments what users have to say about this wallet. Then come back and blabber about that IOTA is for machines but not for humans. Or all users complaining are idiots.
If IOTA leadership doesn't come down from that arrogant stance the future success of IOTA might suffer.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
It was from the reviews on the play store.
I know some of these maybe newbies incorrectly following instructions but didn't fancy risking my XXXXX Iota coins until I knew it was stable.

Thanks bud.
Are you referring to: Take a look at "IOTA Wallet (BETA)"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
The reviews don't seem to be too good plus in beta. But if you've tried it I'd probably just get this :)
You can transfer to 3 places:
Another exchange, e.g. Binance (https://www.binance.com). This means Binance will handle anything required, as the network is currently in a heavy state of development. It means a risk that Binance gets hacked and the iotas are lost.
The official GUI wallet (https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/getting-started/dl-wallet.html) -- This means you control the private key of the iotas (so an exchange hack won't affect you), but it also means you take responsibility to safely generate a seed, safely store the seed, and stay active in development to take care of the iotas (e.g. see sticky post on r/IOTA regarding '0 balance'). It depends on how much time you have, and on how you tech savvy you believe yourself to be, and if you can learn about IOTA and get familiar with how it works (quite differently from blockchain).
An alternative to the official GUI wallet is the non-official Android wallet (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet).
Upcoming is the UCL wallet (currently being tested), which will make it easier to use the wallet and more newbie-friendly:
> Phone wallet doesn't exist yet. Still in the works.
Isn't this the wallet?

Should be this wallet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Mentioned in the wallet info on the right-hand side :(
Anyone here use the Android wallet from the Sidebar?
See the sidebar to the right:
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Web wallet: https://iota-wallet.org
Definitive not official. The only official wallet is this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
So would stay away from any other. Or wait for the new Trinity wallet.
On google store is called IOTA Wallet (Beta) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
There is only one for now. The official for Win, Mac and Linux: https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
And Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
There is a more fancy one in work. Build by community members. but it's not ready yet. (https://medium.com/iota-ucl/wallet-refresh-the-case-for-a-desktop-app-8aebaf19520a)

What IOTA wallet do u use? tHis ->https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet&hl=sr?
So you are saying https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet will be replaced by the Trinity wallet? LOL.
If you want a GUI on pc, there is currenctly only one Wallet. The official: https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
If you are okay with using the command line, i can recommend this: https://github.com/MichaelSchwab/iota-commandline-wallet
For mobile there is the android wallet: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet
Afaik there is a Beta Wallet for iOS as well. But think for that you have to join the #ios-beta chan on slack.
Exchanges - you can use Binance
Wallets - You have official wallet and it is best to use that one, there is a beta Android wallet and also web wallet - not yet verified by team
i use this android wallet

IOTA is an open-source distributed ledger protocol launched in 2015 that goes 'beyond blockchain' through its core invention of the blockless ‘Tangle’.
The IOTA Tangle is a quantum-secure Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG), whose digital currency 'iota' has a fixed money supply with zero inflationary cost. IOTA uniquely offers zero-fee transactions & no fixed limit on how many transactions can be confirmed per second. Scaling limitations have been removed, since throughput grows in conjunction with activity; the more activity, the more transactions can be processed & the faster the network. Further, unlike blockchain architecture, IOTA has no separation between users and validators (miners/stakers); rather, validation is an intrinsic property of using the ledger, thus avoiding centralization.
IOTA is focused on being useful for the emerging machine-to-machine (m2m) economy of the Internet-of-Things (IoT), data integrity, micro-/nano- payments, and other applications where a scalable decentralized settlement system is warranted.

IOTA is an open-source distributed ledger. Its quantum-proof protocol, the Tangle, provides a number of unique features. These include zero fees, fast transactions, and secure data transfer, among many others. Its decentralized design leads to infinite scalability, whereby scale increases in tandem with usage. IOTA is initially focused on serving as the backbone of the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
