I have been using this app since 2012, it has never failed me. It has automated backups to Google Drive or Dropbox, has a rudimentary sync between devices, search, summaries, budgets, repeating payments, reminders. Actually it has so many features I won't be able to list them all, but it is still dead simple to use.
They have a paid version if you don't like ads.
I first started making money when I was 8 (delivering newspapers). My parents suggested I split the money earned three ways:
You don't need to split your earnings evenly, and you don't always need to put the same percent in each category, but do make a point to save some from each paycheck. At the same time, have some fun! Don't put everything into savings.
Another really good habit to get into: start tracking your expenses. It's really helpful to be able to look back and see where your money has been going. I recommend Expense Manager by dev Bishinews (Google Play, should be on apple as well).
I do use Expense Manager, not sure if it's available also for iOS. But for complex forecasting, Excel or Google Spreadsheet (for mobility) is better.
Tips for budgeting, here's mine:
Try this out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager
It doesn't have the flashy interfaces other apps do, but has tons of functionality. You can remove all the graphs and other aggregates you don't want to see from the home screen of the app.
Thank you for all the recommendations
After installing many of them I finally found an excellent one that meets the requirements with many other useful additions. Expense Manager - The developer has kept the functionality exactly the same between both free and paid versions. It has a decent looking appearance but a clean, simple manager overall. I loved the system of recording the expenses. Its quick and easy. Loved it!
You cannot reduce your EMIs or rent or medical expenses. The only things you can reduce are your home expenses and entertainment expenses. Use an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager and enter your expenses every day. After 2-3 months you will get an idea of where the money is going and then you and your spouse together have to decide on which expenses you can cut back on and you can invest the money thus saved. Invest through an SIP at the start of every month, important that it must be at the start so you would not redirect the fund anywhere else.
Also chit funds give very poor returns, you can get much better returns in an RD. So stop the chit funds and move the 4K to an SIP
I'm not sure if this qualifies as a budgeting app but I use Expanse Manager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager).
It allows me to automate the envelope system, keep track of my purchases, track specific spending daily/weekly/monthly/etc, recurring expenses/income.
I almost can't function without it. I currently use the Pro version but afaik there's no difference, just basically a donation.
App Name: Expense manager

Type (Paid/Free) Free. Paid version has no ads.
Android / iOS: Android.
Did use Expense Manager for a short-time (1 month).
But had to revert back to personal configure Excel/GoogleSheet file when budgeting and tracking expense on multiple accounts (Cash-On-Hand, eWallets, Credit Cards, ATMs, etc.) got complicated. I know that's a little bit over-kill. But that's working for me until I personally made my own app to cover my needs (and possible the same needs of others).
I use a regular excel file. I didn't start with a template or anything, just kept adding sheets and formulas till it was exactly the way I wanted it. The last major edit was about 2 years ago. If you're good with excel (or google sheets) then I'd recommend doing the same.
You might try searching for excel templates inside excel. Open up excel, go to file->new and type in "income" or "revenue" in the search box in the right panel
An alternate way would be to use a free app to track things. I use expense manager on android to track my expenses, but you could just as easily use it to track income.
Expense Manager -https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager
I use it for 3 years to track every expense I make. It doesn't have the best UX interface but has lots of options to define accounts, labels, transfer founds, various charts and ability to connect from PC.
I also like that I am not forced to make an account on some company server for it. All the data is stirred locally in my phone and I make regular backup's.
Qube is actually a lot like One and you don't HAVE to pay a membership to use it. But keep in mind paying the membership might give it more of a chance to stick around.
You can have separate bill qube just like in douugh. Each bill qube comes with a virtal card and account numbers.
You have spend qubes that you select before making a purchase or set it up to be qubeless. Qubeless is when you make a purchase and can set that purchase to come out of a qube later. You can also change the length of time the spend qube is open. You can also reqube (move it to a different qube) a transaction.
There are goal qube which are savings. Can only be created using the website. But once it's created you can see and use it through the app.
It's really not as complicated as you think once you start messing with things. There is an overview page where you can see everything. This overview page is where you see something call funding and you can use this to fund all your qubes with monthly budgets or you can also schedule repeating transfer. Automated finding is coming soon.
Honestly read qube how to on their website. It helps. https://support.qubemoney.com/hc/en-us/categories/360002629792-Using-Qube
I use venmo or Zelle to pay anyone. I use capital one for check deposits and then push to Qube. It's faster, weirdly.
I use this calendar expense tracker to help me not overspend and also plan for large expenses. Or my impluse buying. It helps me see that no, i cannot impluse buy. It shows your money flow currently and months and months ahead. I've been using it for years. It actually helped me create a budget. It's also available on iOS.

It will satisfy most of your needs and the UI is simple and clean
I've been using Expense Manager for years. It's free and in my opinion pretty robust. Perhaps it might help you with what you're looking to do. Expense Manager

Export zu Excel ist natürlich auch möglich
Expense manager by Bishinews, I bought the ad-free pro version years ago. It has a parse SMS feature that I use to automatically log all card swipes. I mostly like it because it's a standalone app and not some service that is collecting all my data and might charge me for the service down the line. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager
I moved away from using apps that link to my accounts directly, and instead track all expenses myself. This habit is not at all difficult to get into, but you really need to do it for every expense, otherwise you don't really get the full benefit.
When I switched years ago, I tried many different apps, and settled on Expense Manager by Bishinew (Play Store, App Store). This app is incredibly lightweight (no internet connection needed, small app size, small data footprint) and customizable. You can save backups to the device, or you can link to Dropbox/Google Drive for automatic backups. There are many expense/income categories built in, but you can easily add your own or modify existing ones.
You can set up recurring incomes/expenses (such as your salary and monthly bills), you can create custom budgets and immediately view progress on them, you can create custom tags/status fields/etc. (I have a separate tag for each credit card so I can easily compare to my bill), you can save receipt photos if you want, you can easily plot customizable charts.
I would say this is my best habit, and would absolutely recommend everyone get into this habit as well.
I use Free version Expense Manager which can be downloaded @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager&hl=en
Allows you to tag the expense with the photo copy of the receipt.
If I lost the receipt and want to return the product, I will show the photocopy. All the stores (Eg.Walmart, Home Depot etc) accept it.
Also allows to back up the expenses as a csv file.
All the back up data can be saved in google drive.
I have not found a better app with the above functionalities.
Very true. You first need to know where you stand.
If you spend most of your day in front of a computer, try the kharcha pani dashboard excel. Just google it. I was using it extensively before I got a smartphone, and even a while after I got one.
After the smartphone arrived, I went through a few apps, and settled on this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager&hl=en I have the app installed on my phone as well as wife's. Both are synced to the same account. So she can see what I spent, and vice versa. That helps cut down on frivolous spends as well! Disclaimer: Complete disclosure to spouse can be dangerous!
Watching the frivolous expenses build up over the month is motivation enough to start budgeting.
Expense Manager is very good. Allows you to log the expense with the receipt also so that you can fetch the receipt at any time.
Also you can backup with google drive and as a csv file also.

Try Expense Manager, she can create two accounts there - one for personal money, one for slime expenses and revenue.
The basic set-up takes just a few minutes, than she can use account widgets and just add/remove money from specific accounts.

Ive used this for about 3 years according to the earliest entry. I live by it. It does scheduled transactions/transfers, repeating expenses, cloud backup and sd backup, reports and charts and graphs, daily/weekly/monthly/annual budgets with or without rollover. I cannot reccomend this app enough. You can even take pictures of receipts.
I automatically deduct my bills from my checking into seperate fake accounts in this app. Mortgage is 900 so every two weeks 450 gets put in the mortgage account. I do this with every expense down to the littlest shit like $2.50 for next years crashplan subscription.
This one had been perfect for me. It has everything but they does not get in the way. Interface is bit outdated, but functionality is awesome!
For Android, check out Expense Manager. Enter the amount, select the category(food, cigarettes, travel), done. You can also add comments to the transaction if you like.
Great Reports too. You can see Weekly/Monthly/Yearly Reports, and break them down by category/subcategory to see where you're spending money and when.
Also Syncs with Dropbox and backs up your data.
I personally just use the "Expense" feature on it to keep track of where I spend my money. There is also a Income feature if you need that.
Why do you find it average? I'm just coming from Expense Manager, two days of usage and I'm in love with ExpenseIQ. It's so pretty!
But since it offers NO options to export data in the free version, I'm kinda hesitating...
What are your observations about it, just so I know what to look out for?
I've used Expense Manager in the past. Works pretty well, very customisable.
I use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager

I'm a big fan of this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.expensemanager
(there's an ios version as well)
Lightweight, easy to use, and extremely customizable.
If you're looking for free app: Expanse Manager is the best there is IMO
For paid, go for YNAB
I've been using this app on and off for over 4 years now. it ticks all your boxes and has a healthy set of reports as well.
Check out Expense Manager. Its best feature is sub-categories.
I am using "Expense Manager"
