All I use it for anways is clicking on an image -> share -> imgur to upload it directly from my phone.
EDIT: Apparently you can't do that anymore with the new app. Any alternatives?

Sync users: if you didn't see Lawrence's post yesterday, this change means the poor guy now has to pay imgur to display their albums. Due to the number of users of Sync, he'll probably have to pay $500 a month - which is a hell of a lot for a solo dev to stomach!
However, this is based on usage, so if we cut down on our usage of the in-app album handling, hopefully Lawrence won't have to pay quite as much. To do this, download this imgur app, then disable in-app imgur album handling in settings > images.
The imgur app sucks. Opengur is better, open-source and ad-free.
And since the Imgur API allows free apps to access the API without cost, you know the dev isn't being ripped off.
Uninstall the official app and install Opengur.
If you're like me and just use imgur for image hosting, it's way more light and reliable for uploading images quickly, and also when you click the "copy URL" button in Opengur, it gives you the direct image link instead of the imgur page with that image.
Opengur on Android is amazing. I don't know how it compares to the "browsing imgur" part, because I don't browse imgur, but it is the best for uploading images to imgur.

This feature currently does not exist in Sync. You can, however, upload it to imgur via imgur.com, the official app, or (my personal favorite) the third party app Opengur. These will then give you a link.
Small tip, install Opengur instead and make it the default imgur viewer.
It's slimmer, faster and just 101% better than the official imgur app.

But Opengur is really good. Free. Zero ads. Open source. It is super fast, and very lightweight; it opens Imgur links faster than opening it in Chrome or even in the official Imgur ~~cr~~app. I honestly cannot recommend this app to people highly enough.
It's simple to upload images and after you upload an image, you can copy the direct image link right from the notification (unlike with the official Imgur app, which only lets you copy the gallery page for the image) and uploads are not automatically submitted to Imgur's public gallery.
The only downside is that, a couple of months ago, the app's developer announced he was no longer going to be actively developing the app. But it doesn't really matter, right now, because everything in the app that matters still works, and if/when something stops working, I'm certain that somebody will come along to fork the code, update the app, and re-release it.
Use Opengur instead of the official Imgur app.
It's open sourced, a lot faster and less bloat, and doesn't load those annoying imgur comments.

There's some non-official Imgur apps (Opengur) that are most likely relying on that API.
Since it's open source, contains no ads and the devs doesn't charge anything, I suspect it will eventually dissapear. Too bad, because it's the only Imgur app I enjoy using.
Looks like I'll revert back to the mobile website at some point..

I prefer the Opengur Imgur app. It's fast, lightweight, and works awesome for Imgur albums, as well. You can upload images via the app and copy the direct image link for the image right from the notification (unlike the Imgur app which makes you copy the gallery page link).
Metal was already mentioned, but another one I use is Opengur. I'm sure there's more I'm too tired to remember at the moment.
Opengur is no longer in development but it still works for basic things and uploading images. Account album access is broken. This is because Imgur has shutdown 3rd party API access (same fate as with all other 3rd party clients).

The only reason I use imgur is because the app opengur makes it ridiculously easy to upload an image and get a copy-link-to-clipboard button, then get out of the app and move on with my life.
Will you please make a super lightweight, super simple app to do that, so I can use your site?

I second this.
Also Uploader For Imgur is great for uploading single images (no album support unfortunately), and it's super convenient for sharing and directly uploading an image from a third party app. Almost certainly this app has been abandoned, but I've had zero issues with it over the years, even on devices running Marshmallow or Nougat.

Yeah, pretty much. But I wouldn't hold my breath on that one... Imgur wants people to use their mobile app, so they don't really have a lot of incentive to make their mobile pages really responsive.
I'd recommend installing the open-source Opengur and then adding imgur.com to your External Browser Rules. Then, whenever you open an Imgur link that can't be opened in the app via the Imgur API, it will open in the Opengur app. Opengur is really fast and lightweight, so it's way faster and better than the Imgur mobile site. They also don't have any motive to turn Imgur into a social site, so it's really ideal. (The app is, sadly, no longer actively developed; however, everything of any import still works and, if/when Imgur makes a breaking change, I'm sure somebody else will fork it and take up the project.)
For Android users: Opengur
Open-source Imgur app. So longer being developed but everything important still works. You can share an image to Opengur to upload it to Imgur, then you can copy the direct image link from the notification (unlike the official Imgur app, which wants you to copy the image page link). It's also way faster than the Imgur app.
Reddit has got nothing to do with which image host a users wants to use. Blame the users, not reddit.
Also, don't use the official imgur app, use Opengur instead. Way faster. And a lot better.

For what it's worth, I prefer Opengur over the official imgur client. It at least copies the direct image link instead of the link to the imgur detail page.
Download the opengur app, no account needed. Share photos to opengur, add description, upload, wait until a notification pops up with your link, paste that link in sync.
Sounds complicated, but it really takes just a few seconds.
The typical way is to upload your image to imgur, then create a link in your comment.
I prefer Opengur to upload them quickly copy the link.
When composing your comment, use the "link" formatting button to help you get the brackets right.
The format is [text]/(url address)
(Ignore the forward slash character there. I had to use it to display the brackets without it automatically making it into a link)

Opengur. No longer in development thanks to Imgur's gradual API shutdowns for 3rd party app use, and some album and frontpage features are already broken, but uploading works fine.
Edit: /u/talklittle is pushing out a hotfix update that will prevent this behavior.

Sounds like Imgur is now automatically redirecting mobile browsers to their page in the Google Play Store (because just nagging users to install their app wasn't bad enough). Not really anything that the developer can do about this, unfortunately.
I will use this opportunity to suggest users install the Opengur app as an alternative to the official Imgur app, and then add Imgur to the external browser rules so any links that can't be opened in RiF will be opened in the Opengur app. (Link to Opengur in the Play Store — thanks /u/DRFT_RPS13)
Opengur is free, open-source, has no ads, and best of all it's really fast and light-weight. Way better and faster than opening links in the WebView Browser, Chrome, or even the official Imgur app.
(I know, I know: the Opengur app store page says it's no longer being actively developed... but it doesn't matter because everything that matters in the app works and, if/when something stops working, the app is open-source so I'm sure that someone will fork the code, update it, and re-release the app.)

I ditched the official app when they introduced the annoying cat paw, now I use Opengur (it's only on Android though) which is basically the same but with less fluff, no ads and it's open source if you care about that.
I almost never upload stuff from there, but it does have a checkbox to choose whether to share to community or not (default is not), and it automatically gives you direct links to the images.

their default app is crap...I like Opengur If you use android. Im not gonna bother finding it on the App Store cause I don't use itunes and their website is atrocious.
Hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for about 2 seconds to take a picture of your screen. Then upload it via an app like Opengur and post the link.
I use Opengur instead of the official app, works very nicely even if it isn't perfect. I imagine this won't last, but i'll stick with it for now.

That's the intended behavior. It was made this was in a recent update. You can see some discussion about it in these threads. The changelog said, "Since many people wanted scrolling gallery with all pictures in a single scroll, galleries now open the website, where the same layout is present."

Not currently. However, you can open galleries in the Opengur app which will display text with each picture

Looks like the same issue that was happening a couple of weeks ago is happening again.
Last time, someone from Imgur said that this was supposedly a bug and not intentional... so maybe they will get it straightened out, again.
But, in the meantime, I will again use this opportunity to suggest users install the Opengur app as an alternative to the official Imgur app, and then add Imgur to the external browser rules so any links that can't be opened in RiF will be opened in the Opengur app. (With the Use in-app browser for images setting enabled under Settings --> Browser, you will still open any direct image links and gifvs inside RiF, but anything that can't be opened directly will be opened in the Opengur app.)
Opengur is free, open-source, has no ads, and best of all it's really fast and light-weight. Way better and faster than opening links in the WebView Browser, Chrome, or even the official Imgur app.
(I know, I know: the Opengur app store page says it's no longer being actively developed... but it doesn't matter because everything that matters in the app works and, if/when something stops working, the app is open-source so I'm sure that someone will fork the code, update it, and re-release the app.)
I prefer Opengur for Android, it's very clean, stable and doesn't spam your notifications lol
Now that it's fixed, remember to uninstall it and install Openger.
Opengur is still better.

| Tasker | I didn't use Tasker for a long time, but /u/takkuso gave me some neat ideas. Now I have many annoyances fixed: I can start Sleep as Android tracking my sleep by pressing a button on my watch; Once the Sleep as Android app opens, airplane mode is automatically turned on, and Bluetooth and NFC turned back on; if my battery gets below 10%, Pushbullet sends a notification to all my devices and browser. Same thing once my phone is charged; if my phone connects to my car Bluetooth then it automatically turns off WiFi, and presents me with 4 huge buttons I can press to open Spotify, pocket casts, audible, or Google maps; I can then on my computer by bumping my phone against and NFC tag by my bed; with a nova gesture, I can shrink my screen area to be more convenient for one handed use.
