> the idol love train hasn't made its way to the west yet
I'm sure Love Live is pretty popular in the West (or else more popular than any other idol anime). The franchise has its own localised smartphone game, as well as the anime is licensed by NIS America and is still on stream through Crunchyroll. I should say that the West is exposed to it already.
According to Google Play, it's 4.1.4.
Edit: iTunes update is live...but it was weird. First there was 4.1.3, then all of a sudden there was 4.1.4? I had to update twice.
The Love Live wikia page has most of the audio dramas with eng subs, and also a comprehensive list of the "bunch of other crap" listed under "other adaptations".
Also, the mobile game.
You must simply be stupid. The first image is from "Love Live" and the second is from "Sword Art Online" either the manga or light novels. Both are not pornographic, and have sold millions upon millions of copies. Love Live is a super popular game on the Play Store. Do those reviewers seem like pedos to you? You are really going to call those 143k reviewers pedophilic? 1m+ downloads? That is just an incredibly gross misuse of the word. You can Youtube the game too and see TONS of female players who make videos for the game. You are living in a total fantasy world.
LoveLive! School Idol Festival
You can go as far as you want with F2P if you're disciplined and have super human levels of skill and endurance. You can also P2W your way to stronger teams, but it's not going to help if you're hopelessly bad at rhythm games. I love the music in this game and the challenge is real. It looks casual, and it can be, but if you are super hardcore, it'll satisfy you too.
For everyone who loves the songs and is not already playing the game here it is for iOS and Andriod:
Love Live School Idol Festival. Here's a picture for comparison
Kaho was already my favorite character because twintails, game nerd, and cute, but since I play this exact game, seeing her play it was the cherry on top for me.
I personally really like Love Live! School Idol Project which is actually really good. You might only like it if you like Love Live the anime though. The mechanics of the game are great so I would suggest giving it a shot anyways because it is the best rhythm game I've played and it is free and without ads.
Downloading Love Live School Idol Festival also does the same thing.
It won't let you even open the app if you have root. Even with Rootcloak Love Live detected that I had root, that being said though Rootcloak isn't that reliable.
I would recommend you Love Live School Idol Festival, but it's an addictive trap into idol hell.
My life is now organized into chunks of time where I play idol rhythm songs in between. ^^send ^^help
Love Live!School idol festival, it's the only app on my phone now, as it has gradually gotten bigger, and my phone is old, with limited space!
> I've seen complaining on Google Play reviews about rooted devices, that's on what I based my assuption.
Actually, they're now added that notice in the end of the game description at Play Store
> (This game is not supported on rooted devices.)
> however it (probably) still blocks meaningfull changes (like player stats), since it's checked with server.
Yep. That means only client-side changes are possible (images, sounds, etc.)
We did but that was for a flair request, not a custom flair. What about the School Idol Festival game? It's a rhythm game but it does have story portions with an ADV text box.
You did but isn't this just a drawing contest? I'd rather make a drawing for this and if there's another one in the future then I'll do the cut out.
> What have you been playing?
Get the creeper cam out, I played School idol festival after Gita talked about it on the Beastcast. I only played it for a day, but it was a glorious day until I started feeling a bit creepy every time I opened it up. It's now off my phone but it has gotten me very excited for P4:DAN (my excitement lessened a quite bit after hearing Rise's new VO).
Asside from that, people are driving me crazy on PSN Profiles. I don't know if gaming session creators are putting the wrong time or completely forgetting about their sessions, but I've had two Arkham Origins sessions over the past few days that have had the creator no-show. I even woke up at 7:30 on a Saturday.
Also, Destiny. Hopefully I can hit 34 within the next couple weeks so I can do Skolos and not feel much pressure to finish Skolos. Probably going to resort to /r/destinysherpa.
> What Giant Bomb content have you been watching?
I did watch the TI5 finals witch chat on Friday. I don't care to play DOTA and I don't care much for esports, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the finals so much so that I think I'll actually watch more than just the finals next year.
I can't recall if I watched anything this week other than UPF and the Tiny Danswers (Which, honestly, I did not care for the advice there). Oh, there was the Mailbag too. And the Microsoft Gamescom coverage which was fun if a bit underwhelming.
> What Giant Bomb content do you recommend from this week?
The only thing I can say is the We Talk Over Microsoft's Gamescom 2015 Press Conference video. Nothing else tickled my fancy this week.

English version still going strong after like 5 years. It's a fun rhythm game with no powercreep other than score tiering which isn't all that rewarding. Compared to more recent rhythm games it's more barebones but that doesn't mean it's bad in any way.
School Idol Festival. I've been playing for over 2.5 years and I'll never come close to the skill level and results of the best players. I don't think I'll ever full combo a master level song. But I still enjoy playing it and trying to full combo expert songs. But when you see what the top players can do, it's humbling, and the only conclusion you can come to is that they're not human.
Love Live! School Idol Festival. English version of the Japanese rhythm game. Yeah, it's P2W, but no amount of money spent is going to help you get past the hardest difficulties. If you have poor timing and rhythm, you will fail miserably. Expert rhythm gamers will probably find it very easy, but it is a challenge for casuals, like me. The biggest flaw to me is that the LP system (ie. energy) really restricts you from playing for long sessions, unless of course, you're willing to spend. Despite the inherent P2W issues, the game is fun, the artwork and music is great and the developer keeps it updated regularly. Anime moe fans will enjoy this game. There's a large community supporting the game, including on reddit ( /r/SchoolIdolFestival ), if you really want to invest in it.
Also playing PinOut. The entire presentation is so polished and beautiful. The thing that grabbed me the most is the music, especially the vocals on some of the songs. That was probably the thing that motivated me the most to buy the game. The base game play and board designs are a little on the simplistic side, but there's no denying that the game is addictive. When you get into the flow of the game, it's quite amazing.
Yup, that is a very good point. It's all to build up that anticipation and spectacle of opening up that ~~box~~ mod.
A game that I play on the side is Love Live School Idol Festival, a Japanese game that I knew going in was totally P2W and built completely around gacha/loot boxes. It's so funny and sad to see the Riven mods. These two games are oddly alike now. Massive, massive grind, and now we have loot boxes.
Obligatory Anime Idol Rhythm Game. Premium currency is basically farmable given enough time, and content is gated as much by individual player skill as team strength.

This is the English version. I play the Japanese one because it has more stuff. You can install it via the apk. Just Google for it.

There is this pretty sweet Love Live Game on Google Play and you can download and play it for free. Kawata Shoujo is another popular Dating Sim free to download on pc/android.
Other than that there are several Otome Games and other indie Anime themed/styled Dating Simulators too for android.
Do you enjoy rhythm games? Do you enjoy idols? If so, School Idol ~~Hell~~ Festival is pretty fun. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=klb.android.lovelive_en&hl=en
The first few episodes aren't that great, but it quickly gets better (*cough* Maki *cough*).

Looks like she's ~~dragging them into the idol hell~~ teaching them about the School Idol Festival game.
If you're into rhythm games, School Idol Festival is fairly fun. It's based off of Love Live!
There are some visual novel ports too, like Hakuouki.
And of course, my favorite, Nanaca Crash (it's based off of some VN) where you crash your bike into a guy and send him flying. Here's the browser version.
edit: The Square Enix page if you're into RPGs.

Sword art online: Memory defrag
We get updates and promotions copy-pasted from JP version, so players are swimming in cash currency thanks to super-generous devs giveaways.
Casually saving, you can have thousands of MD (250 for a 10+1, most of them time the first roll is 125) with plenty of safety nets (5* guaranteed step-up and crystal guaranteed 4*+ summons). The average event gives you 70~110 MD!
Even better there are like 3 updates per week!
Pretty good anime rhythm game with catchy songs. Enjoyable even if haven't seen the anime season 1/2. Plenty of events matches that allow you to play against other players and giveaways.
Pretty much a mobile version of "Pangya!" golf game. Cute graphics and matches can be very fun.
Tried "Fire Emblem: Heroes" but was disappointed at how basic was the enemy AI. If clear a map once you can clear it always following the exact same tactic. The AI will always move in the same way allowing you to predict what it will do.
