Yea right here
>Question: do people who are not Christians automatically go to hell? it scares me that my family might be "damned" :/
[Matthew 25:31-46]
Jesus teaches about "Sheep" (saved) and "Goats" (condemned). Essentially, one must receive Christ and express Christ through love. I don't want to be alarmist, but Jesus says that not even everyone who calls him "Lord" will enter heaven.
Don't worry about not knowing everything! That humility does you a lot of credit, and everyone has to start somewhere! You're doing now one of the best things that you could be doing: talking to Christians about your beliefs. I hope that we are helping you, and I hope that you feel encouraged to ask whatever questions you have.
I would suggest you talk to the Christians that you know. The best thing to say to them is just the simple truth: you're interested in learning more about the Christian faith. I think flesh-and-blood Christians will be able to help you more than we on the internet can.
Lastly, it would be great if you could find some way to read some of the Bible, which you admit to knowing little about. I would advise you to start by reading the books of Matthew, then Genesis. There is a fantastic free android app with the bible in over 400 languages that you might find convenient, but obviously not if your parents would check your phone, or if you don't have a smartphone. I imagine a paper copy would be hard for you to keep secret, too.
If you get regular time like this to browse the internet safely, the comment reply to this, /u/VerseBot, will link to biblegateway, which has the entire text of the bible in many translations. I'd recommend NLT as it is simple English.
I hope this helps you.
I use this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
It has multiple translations on it which is pretty awesome for studying.
Just download the app... Then you can just press play and listen to it. Depending on the version. I prefer the voice of the person reading the NIV.
The YouVersion bible app will read the text to you without numbers. The app has been ported to every possible platform as well.
Hey, I'm not OP, but I also read the entire Bible last year on the "YouVersion" Bible app. There is a reading plan that takes you through it, and even will remind you every day. It was truly life changing! I'll post a link to the download if you have an android phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
I'm a big fan of YouVersion. It's free, has a ton of features, offers multiple translations, and allows you to bookmark, highlight, and more as you read. Has Bible reading plans, study tools, verse of the day, and a bunch of other features I haven't even tried yet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
I found it hard to read the bible when I was younger for sure. There is other ways to access information though that might be easier. There is the bible app you can download. I love it, it has daily topics so you can learn along the way and work through things at your pace. The topics are pretty cool too like anxiety, anger, keeping calm etc which fit into daily life. I used this before reading the bible it also has the bible on there too so you can pick out verses. 😊 it also explains things in a more modern approach. The most important thing is your relationship with God above all. ❤🙏

First rule never walk away from God, you will screw up many times but every time you do the first rule. God advised you not to have sex until you get married, you screwed up and now when you should be with a girlfriend and close to getting married you are already married and with two children.
The Father is not angry with you for that, he was sad for both of them but he is very proud. You were responsible, you are raising a family, you have two beautiful children, a wife and you are a son that you can be proud of.
You can not even with the social pressure that says that a man is weak if he recognizes that he needs God, that will improve when you are older and mature more, but when you fail, the first rule.
There are ways to feed faith without attracting attention:

Hey, I like your app and had an idea for an additional feature. There is a Bible app called YouVersion https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
In this app, there is a verse of the day (parallel this to the flavor text), well, in the app, you can create a picture graphic of the verse of the day. So, it overlays the text of the scripture verse on the image, and then the user can do things like change font, size, position, color, and all sorts of little tweaks to make it beautiful. And then share it with others on social media.
If you wanted to do this with the card art and the flavor text, I bet users could come up with some nice stuff. It would be cool if they could post it to Reddit too. (It could even be linked or hosted in such a way to credit "Created with Tasty MTG - create your own Showcase of MTG flavor text here"
Anyway, just a thought - hope it all goes well!
That is neat. I also would highly recommend the Bible app for Android or iOS. Here's the Android link and the iOS link. ESV, NASB, and NKJV are good translations. And ESV has a great audio book on the app.
Great story! I hope your find Jesus my friend. Also you should download the Bible app, it's free and has all kinds of plans on there.
Here is a link if you have an Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
I appreciate the openness. The app I've been gravitating towards lately is the Bible app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android Alternatively https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bible/id282935706?mt=8 Which has a bunch of different translations as well as audio narrations for the more popular ones including ESV. It also sends you verses daily to your notification panel to keep you from getting too lazy (very helpful for me).
Good luck, and I hope you find Christ. I'll pray for you.
This one is probably the most full-featured app you'll get. Lots of translations in lots of languages, ability to highlight and jot notes, interact with other people, etc.
Boox readers can, technically, run most android apps from the Google Play store, but if they work well with the screen is the big deal breaker. You need apps with minimal animations, and crisp white backgrounds with black text only. There's built manual optimisations you can do to apps that improve things, but they can only go so far.
What device specifically are you looking at getting? If this is the app you mean I can try it on my Poke 3 reader this evening, and see how it works.
I believe in the Father, the son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit as my God.
Catholic nakalagay sa Birth cert ko, pero umalis ako kase wala naman akong natutunan (puro talambuhay lang ng pari kinukwento). So hanggang ngayon nagshahanap ako ng fit sakin. Pero in the end sa opinion ko, di naman importante "Religion" as long na naniniwala ka naman sa Maker.
And kung catholic ka, at nakaasa kalang sa misa para matutuo.... NO. Wala ka talagang matututunan. I recommend magbasa nalang ng Bible. (NASB, ESV version) Kung di mo maintindihan use CEV version. Meron lahat ng version sa Bible App all in 1.
You can use any application browser to find a free Bible program and begin reading. Begin with the book of John You will learn of the story of Jesus and why He is important.
Apple Appstore - Bible
Google Play Store - Bible
🌱
YouVersion is pretty popular. and integrates a lot of useful features like reading plans and devotionals.
I use Bible by HSAPM personally for the Cambridge version of the KJV and the ASV Byzantine Text. I also find it easier to copy and paste which makes it useful in conjunction with Reddit.
Yes, and thats why I don't talk on behalf any church but as a christian. Look I'm flawed and also had some bad experienced with churches but the misericordy of God is infinite and allows me to talk with you about this.
The bible and Jesus are the answers and the most, not what a church says, or a human says but the most important commandments that Jesus gave us are:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Matthew 22:37 - 40
Think about it, isn't this what we really need to aim for? No money, no things but love. And what is love some might say... just read about what Jesus did in the four gospels and that what love is since God is Love then Love is also Jesus.
If you are interested I recomend this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Here you can read for free the bible and use which ever version you like, try the NIV, it might be a mothern one more understandable for the language now days.
Also this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bibleproject
As a support, in the videos tab you can find plans to read the bible and an explanation and summary of each book which can put you through context. Now days thankfully we havethe opportunity to read it, I hope you do 😁
Well, as I said, I don't know about mythologies but the bible has perdured till this day and it keeps increasing to every place in the earth to every person and while reading it detailed it makes sense and the prophecies are being acomplished.
The path of Christianity is not easy, the bible is an example of that, many people had been and are being persecuted, tortured and killed for it as Jesus said it would happen, and that is for people like us to have a light in our path.
If you are interested I would recomend you to read and study it. I would recomend this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Is free and you can read it the language and version you like, also comparing versions if you will be interested. Also for understanding you have to know the context of it so I also recomend this one too:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bibleproject
In the section of videos you will find many advices to read it and also explanations and summary of each book. I hope you read it 😁
Well, to be honest I read it in spanish but i think that NIV (New International Version) is a new and more contemporary version, I would recomend the You Version app since you can download plenty of versions and in the language you need, also some of them has audio.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Also I recomend this app for support
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bibleproject
There is a section in the videos tab that is Explore by book, these are videos about the explanation and summary of each book that helps you to introduce to the context of the book and understand it more. Also it have some plans and recomendations on how to read or start to read the bible.
here's a great free Bible app with no commercials! Many churches even use this at so they can sync up with the congregation. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Are you referring to this Bible app? There are numerous one-year Bible reading plans in there but I haven't used that app for years now so I can't suggest any. Besides, almost all of them follow the Protestant canon (66 books instead of 73) of the Bible iirc, so they might skip over some books in the Bible.
I am however familiar with The Bible in a Year podcast as mentioned by the first commenter. This one, I recommend.
If you have a smartphone or tablet there's a free app you can download called YouVersion
Once downloaded, it has Bible versions in many different languages, and even has the Catholic Bible. You can try reading the different versions there and switch back and forth between them at your liking. But I personally use the King James Version. Oh and what's even better is that some versions even have audio versions as companion, meaning it will read it to you.
The essence is that you recognize your sins, confess them and ask for forgiveness to God the Father, and make Jesus the Lord of your life. Your life isn't yours anymore, he died so that we could die to ourselves and live for him.
Good recommendations on reading the Bible, specifically the 4 Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. These are about the life and teachings of Jesus as well as his death, burial, and resurrection (being raised from the dead, and seated at the right hand of God the Father).
Bible app for you.

I haven't used biblehint, but I use "The Bible App"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
I love it, it sends a random bible verse to my phone every morning. Not only that, but there are bible reading plans, devotionals, a Bible with different translations to use (I love using it for cross reference in my Bible studies) I highly recommend it.
Disclaimer: I'm not religious either but I've heard some strict, old-fashioned religious people call out anything more recent than the Herziene Statenvertaling as a "bad influence", so those are probably the ones that are good material for normal, modern people.
The default translation for the app you mentioned, the Nieuwe Bijbelvertaling, doesn't read that archaic to me either. It's probably closer to the Greek/Hebrew original which can make the wording more challenging, but as far as written Dutch goes it's good training material for the more advanced Dutch student.
There's another free app, Bijbel + Audio which has an audio version without signing up for any accounts (there's a registration popup but you can close it). It comes with the Het Boek translation and audio book, which is written in modern Dutch.
I wouldn't consider "destijds" such a strange word. It's not something you use often in spoken language, but it's very common in written Dutch.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
This is such an amazing Bible app especially because there are so many Plans tailored to each of our personal struggles and what to read first. I HIGHLY recommend giving it a look and i believe you'll be well on your way to the walk of faith. God bless you my friend.
Matthew 22:30.
For Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
The app Has multiple bible translations, has devotionals, can download translations to be used offline, play each page of certain translations in audio, and has an online scripture search engine.
It is by: Life.Church
I don't know what to tell you about your girlfriend (i've never been in a relationship), but I think your doing the right things, from what you're telling me. Jesus told us in John 16:33 NLT, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Now is the time to press into GOD, pray about your worries, then simply leave it in GOD's hands. He does His best work in the background, so be assured, He hears you, and honors the fact you haven't given up on Him. You can get the you version Bible app for android or whatever app store u have, and look for daily devotionals for whatever you're facing. The Bible really is like life's handbook.
Love u brother/sister in Christ. Cool username BTW
Don't worry, there are multiple apps that will let you read it.
I use this one, Bible is translated in most languages so you'll probably be fine. This app doesn't contain deuterocanonical books, but you're just getting into thing so you don't need them yet.
Try another translation or even a paraphrase like the message if that's easier to understand. Also I highly recommend using the Bible App from Life.Church. It has tons of good reading plans and has audio built in. I find it's easiest to listen on my daily commute. If you're listening to the audio, you don't have to worry about all the strange names that are impossible to pronounce - the reader does it for you. Good luck!
The Bible definitely will help you in finding out more about God and Jesus. You can read the Bible on your phone, try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android I use it and I like it a lot!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
I use that one and is pretty cool, not sure if thats what you're looking for, but you wont have to take hundreds of screenshots
If you struggle with reading for long periods, I've found that reading along to an audio recording helps.
You can get the YouVersion app and find the audio files.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Thats really weird. Its an old app but I don't know why it would work on mine but not on yours. There is also YouVersion which i use a lot for things like "1 minute a day devotions" and stuff. It also has a verse of theday
If you have access to YouTube search for The Bible Project. They do a good job explaining and illustrating the Bible.
If you don't have regular access to the Bible you can download an app for your phone or tablet here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android & you can read it in your language.
GET THIS FREE BIBLE APP
This Free Bible App Is The Best!!!! Reads To You! Easy To Use!!!! Easy To Share! Hear The Lord's Words! Listen To The Twelve Disciples Of Jesus! Be Saved!!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
If you have a phone, download one using the playstore. There's a lot to choose from but this is my personal favorite https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android&hl=en
You can download the entire book offline with various translations like NIV, KJV, etc.
Awesome job! The thing that keeps me tied to the Bible app I currently use is the reading plans. One way you could have a leg up on them is to allow user created reading plans, rather than only the ones the app makers add, I've been wanting that for a while!
Utter bullshit
Go to playstore ams search holy bible, exact same app is the 1 result.
I won't get into details but I'm in the same situation as you as I feel our backgrounds are identical (Indian, was athiestic/agnostic but born to a catholic family. Started rediscovering my faith after a relationship with a Hindu girl) . And my advice to you is this, please don't try to force yourself to believe just because you want to get to get married to him. And I think it's unfair of your boyfriend to give an arbitrary deadline like seven months to see if Christianity is for you. It should be a personal journey and he has no right to give you such a set time frame to see if your beliefs will fall in line with his. I hope you make that clear to him.
But on a more hopeful note, when you don't have a time limit imposed on you to discover your faith, it gets amazing. I've struggled with my faith for years, but I know for a fact that God exists and he's always watching over me. It took me years to finally realize it but one thing I can say that his timing is always perfect and he comes through when I need him the most in ways I never expect.
If marriage is on the cards, I hope that your boyfriend realizes love is the most important thing in marriage, not religion. Sure, a marriage should be centered around God. I've seen my parents go through things that would've ended most marriages but their faith in God, especially my moms, made them endure it together and I don't think they've ever been happier now than at any point in their 25 years of marriage.
If he truly loves you and accepts you for who you are, then he should realize that faith can be a struggle to you. He should be ready to pick up the slack spiritually during the periods where you are going through doubts. My mom is devout, my dad is agnostic/confused and religion is not a big deal to him. Yet that never stopped her from loving him. I can tell you now itself, seven months won't be enough to truly find out if his beliefs are for you. Like marriage, our beliefs are a life long process.
In the meantime though, keep discovering about Christianity through whatever means you fancy. I think the most important thing for you is to find out the character of God and why you personaly need him in your life. That'll at least make it easier for you.
Hope this helps in some way. All the best for your future!
Edit: On a side note, I found this app immensely helpful during my time of rediscovery. It has almost all the Bible versions as well as translations in multiple languages. But the best part about are the reading plans and devotionals. It covers multiple topics and I'm sure the content on here will be most helpful to you! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Assuming you have a smartphone, the YouVersion Bible app includes audio versions. My wife listens to it, regularly.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
It might be this one! Happy reading :) (if you use android that is :p)
YouVersion all the way - I love all the options!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
This has a Japanese version. For phones and tablets. Also available for iPhone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
I think its this one.
>where can I meet your friend? I assume he is practicing his healing somewhere? maybe walking from hospital to hospital healing the sick?
Jesus never walked from hospital to hospital. Jesus also never healed everyone, and he never promised to heal everyone. Now let me break down how you are ignorant in what you're talking about.
>I assume he is practicing his healing somewhere?
It's not "his healing" Jesus can use all types of vessels for healing. People have been healed by touching a piece of cloth. It's God who heals, and ni one gets the power to heal.
>where can I meet your friend? I assume he is practicing his healing somewhere? maybe walking from hospital to hospital healing the sick?
Now let me attack the Logical flaws. God exists. He doesn't heal everyone in the world all at once, and yet your making it a issue that God isn't having someone go to a hospital to do that. That is just illogical, and ignorant about Who God is.
The wages of sin is death. We are all dying because of some evil act we are doing. None of us deserve to be healed, or anything, and it's completely a undeserved blessing when God does it.
This is such a common, and ignorant objection to healing. Christians make the same objection, and claim healing doesn't happen today because people will just go to a hospital, and do it. God doesn't have to heal anyone.
So here let's use a comparison to show how rediculase this argument it. You have a friend who is so rich they’re networth is 39 billion, and I come to you, and be like. Well I assume your friend is feeding everyone around the world? He solved hunger right?
>can you link me to all the stories and books that must have been written about him and his instantaneous and wondrous healing?
Yep. See once again you assume it's the human. It's God. God just uses the dude. God can use a pigon to heal, and funny enough! There's tons of Books wrote about God, and How he miraculously healed someone. Litteraly over 2,000 years of material has been written on this topic. So maybe Ill start you off with some light reading, and then when you finish this one book. You can move on to all the other books people have wrote about there experience of being healed by God.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android
Then you know when you're done with that. Type into Google "books about being healed by Jesus". You will find hundreds of books seeing as Jesus does this regularly to this day.
>with such a gift from god I
Yep. Just proving how Ignorant you are on this topic. Like I said. Healing has nothing to do with the vessel, and the Lord can choose to use a piece of paper to heal you. Dirt on the ground. Or whatever he sees fit. Just because he uses a human doesn't suddenly mean the Human has power. That's just dumb.
I dont know if u an android but this bible app has almost every translation https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android

You can change versions or use the "Compare" feature https://iili.io/5JuyZb.jpg It also backs up your notes/highlights to your Google account, so no need to do it manually.
It's a widget that comes with this bible app
That's awesome! So the bible is a tough read, I recommend you take your time going through it and read everything like a puzzle or a depthy poem. Don't be afraid to ask questions, either! It's tough to understand some of the stories, especially the darker ones.
I recommend you check out Tim Mackie at The Bible Project, they've got some awesome videos that summarize the messages and stories of everything to do with the bible.
The old testament (Genesis through Malachi) are stories of human experiences living with God and his impact in our world. The story leads up to the telling if a day when God will make a holy sacrifice from himself to save the human race, and bring us one step closer to being able to co-exist once again.
The New Testament has four main books known as the Gospel (the story of Jesus And the good news of the kingdom he brings) includes Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These tell the story of how Jesus was introduced to the world and the stories of his presence with us in his life and after his death.
Jesus got all his wisdom from the old testament, and refers to it constantly, so it's good to have a sturdy foundation in understanding the bible. Especially Genesis, Exodus, and Daniel. But any understanding is better than none.
The books following after the Gospel stories (Romans through revelations) are the experiences of Jesus' disciples and followers laying a foundation for the Church to be built upon, and the challenges they face along the way.
I recommend you download the YouVersion Bible App and read/listen to whatever translation you're comfortable with. I personally like the New International Version and the New American Standard Bible, but some translations simply relay the same messages a different way, so it's nice to have some back and forth capability.
Take care! Read a lot and ask a lot. Come to understandings and do your best. It's a tough read but it's a very rewarding one.

It's very popular: 300 million installs!
Good Android Bible app ... if if if if if if anyone might be looking for one.
This is just how I approached it but it is up to you and the Holy Spirit, I started with the New Testament. I actually started by listening to the ESV in my car:
I also listen to the ESV/KJV while I do other things like working:
Every night, I read the Bible. Here I would preview a chapter using an easier translation like NET or MEV, then read it in KJV or ESV and take notes for verses that stand out. I alternate reading any book from the Bible and the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) because the Bible is all about Jesus Christ. I also do my best every time to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I would pick a book that I want to read, and mark it off when I am done so I would at least go through all the books of the Bible.
http://www.logosmultimedia.com/list-of-bible-books.html
That is all. God bless.
Well Christianity I think is more positive in society fr do you know how many charities and hospitals are built bc of Christianity and the missionaries that go build and help other countries and the food drives and everything we do for everyone, you have the wrong idea of the religion and if you look in the Bible bc idk where your reading but there is nothing the Bible would say to do anything for "God's" because the Bible only talks about 1 God the king of Kings. So that's obviously an untruth. Jesus healed the sick fed thousands of hungry people and died for us and for you. (I know cliche af right!) Lol
But the thing is I can tell you have the wrong idea of Christianity and look into it and actually read the whole Bible before you go off of whatever it is you were saying. But I mean I worked at a church with my friend volunteraly to feed anyone who cake in for free and we would give them boxes and boxes of fresh groceries and treat them like royalty.
There is nothing that says to abuse children or your wives or to shoot up a school or to massecre innocent people. If you actually take some time to learn the lessons in the Bible I would recommend a more modern version though unless you really want the raw text go with new King James version and you can even use a Bible app they even have daily scriptures and all.
Basically just look into it because the things you said are untrue and you need to actually read for yourself and read it not like a fairy tale or sarcastically but with an open mind once you shave read the book of John respond to me and tell me your thoughts.
