This is true. Samsung phones had this really nice calendar widget that wouldn't show up on Nova, so I had to download a calendar widget off the play store with similar features.
Here's the widget I ended up using.
Month: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I really enjoy Month. It's a great looking calendar widget that is beautifully designed and is very useful to me. I have a Google Calendar synced with multiple people and it handles it perfectly.
Well, there's Google calendar that I really like. And there's Today Calendar. Both look really good and gets the job well done.
Today Calendar also has good widgets, but I prefer the Calendar Widget: Month as my cal widget.
Linkme: Google Calendar, Today Calendar
I use two calendars and they perform two functions on my tablet.
Calendar Widget: Month - Because of the widget. I need a quick and simple overview of the month and this app does it.
Sunrise Calendar - Because I need a calendar that integrates with Microsoft Calendar. They aren't many, so Sunrise work well. I don't like it much, but cross-platforming and MS support are great.
Month is probably my favorite calendar widget out there. Awesome customizability and sweet material design animations. It's only a widget, though, so I just use Google Calendar for the main app.
Nothing wrong with shelling out a dollar or two for quality apps to support a dev. Hell I remember paying for the premium version of Nova Launcher years ago and it was worth the few bucks.
A few other quality apps that I've Pais for were a calendar app and calendar widget
Month widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Today Calendar (much better than stock)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underwood.calendar_beta
Now both of these apps were free but for a few extra features I went ahead and paid for the premium version.
Android has come along way in terms of quality apps. Hell I just downloaded a free apps that helps with breathing exercises but contacted the dev anyways to see if I could send a dollar as a donation just to support him.
When I hear people bitch about how ios will get an app before android or how a dev won't even bother with Android, I now know why.
Month has some great themes for its widget. Some of them look great with dark themes.
Supports google calendar as well
That widget is called 'Month: Calendar Widget"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
It took some fidgeting to get this look, but i will share my settings if anyone needs some help :)
Month Calendar widget. It's very beautifull as well as useful. And as someone else said, KWGT and KWLP will give you endless possibilities.
It looks like a poor ripoff of Month.
Month has dozens of different calendar widgets, and receives regular updates. What OP linked appears to be EXACTLY the older, holo-style widgets from the app I linked, and also hasn't been updated since March.
The calendar is called Month (Free). which comes with a few nice themes with the option to purchase some more and google calendar integration.
The weather widget is called Weather Timeline ($0.99). Has different icons and widget layouts.
zooper and wall: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B9iv_6jS2XQvNExmQjNpLXdaTXc&usp=sharing
icons: glyphs by tokem
calendar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
This one. It comes with enough themes by default and the optional purchases look really nice as well. I can have it show an actual goddamn calendar on a home screen, with all of my events viewable at a glance, without everything looking hideous. Very pleased.
Could you give instructions on how to accomplish this? I read the thread where you got the idea from, but it wasn't very clear. Could I accomplish the same right widget effect with Month Calendar?
Fair enough. Although I'd have to say first time I heard of that glitch. Anyway, how about a third party widget? I mean do you know Month?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I keep track of the Formula 1 event times, and this app has helped me a ton. Rather than open the calendar app every time, I just swipe over to the next page and get a quick glance of when everything starts. This is one of the very few apps I have stuck with for years.
edit: Forgot to mention I also use The Weather Channel app for the status bar and notification tray widget. Haven't used any other weather app since.
Thanks. If you haven't already, download this calendar widget I'm using. Making it transparent is as easy as going into its app settings and selecting the theme.
Samsung Theme: High Contrast Theme
Widget: Calendar Widget: Month
If i had to choose anything, it would be the S-planner calendar widget. But I found an app that does the same thing. So, not really.
Also, the vibrations on the OP3 aren't as strong as the samsung, so I've missed a few calls. That kind of sucks.
Well damn, just tested a couple and you're right.
However I also noticed that a widget that I have doesn't seem to be linked. You may want to check it out:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Month widget, which opens the Samsung calendar app from the homescreen. Samsung's updated calendar is really their only decent attempt at material design, imo. I prefer not having redundant apps.
There's one that's called simply Month. It has a number of different themes and has a good amount of customisation options. Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Is this the month widget? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
It looks like it but I can't find the transparent style with white circles like in your image. (also no agenda widget sadly)
EDIT: I settled on this + today's agenda widget with a white zooper background behind it. Wish I could make only this page fullscreen and not the other ones. http://imgur.com/a/k1yqB
Oh I see I confused month view with split view.
Yeah I see how this can be confusing.. You're alternatives are:
Use split view (which imo looks - much better = more material)
Use the month calender widget (when you tap a day it behaves exactly like you want it.
I really like this app, thanks.
Month is also very good widget, it has many different skins including a couple very much like the one included in Today, but more variety.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I love Todo Agenda and Month. I use both on the same screen for a quick glance at what's coming up and a full-fledged calendar. Todo is free, Month is IMO worth the small purchase to remove ads and unlock themes.
• MIUI running Xiaomi.eu ROM.
• The wallpaper is from the new iPad Mini (2022).
• The clock widget is LRONE, available in MIUI Theme Store (Chinese version, as Xiaomi.eu is based on MIUI China ROM).
• The calendar widget is called Month, available in PlayStore.
• Icons are animated, from another theme (available in MIUI Theme Store). It has a Chinese name, 完美圆角 and it translates to Perfect Rounded Corners.
SL6 doesn't render my Month widget properly on my Z Flip 3. It only shows two rows (weeks). Please send me a link to the previous version until this bug is fixed. Link to widget app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I never liked the google calendar widget. I've been using an app called "month" for years now. Let's you customize how you want the widget to look.

Just downloaded this and absolutely love it! I understand why Kustom preset devs lock komps, but I'm trying to do very advanced customization on the "white" preset. Is there anyway you'd be willing to DM me the unlocked .komp file?
Just an FYI, I'm not a preset developer, never share anyone's presets with others or on forums, and only use Kustom for personal use (kind of an obsession... I mean hobby).
I've been trying to build a scrolling month calendar widget with events & event colors displayed on calendar days, just like the widget app Month & your "white" komp. After months of heavily modifying formulas & building a UI from Brandon Craft's scrolling month calendar tutorial/komp, I've only been able to get the events to show correctly on cal for the current month, but they don't update when I go to next or prev month. My calendar also has scrolling event viewer by day on bottom, and I've perfected it down to having month default to the correct date on scrolling, plus much improved UI to the original on both calendar & agenda. Also, I won't use your proprietary day-view pop-up, I just open event links in Google Calendar.
I'd be willing to share the completed widget/komp file with you when I'm done in exchange for you sharing the solution and/or unlocked file for this one komp, if that's something you'd be interested in. Pls lmk. We can also talk in DMs if that's easier.
Love your work!
MONTH calendar widget let's you pin these icons next to the dates. This is the closest thing to crossing off days that I know right now.
To quit smoking is not easy and I wish you the best of luck with that!
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I use "month" calendar for my home screen widget. It opens google calendar to set dates and such. Had it for years on many phones.
Edit for link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
its on the playstore . its called "Month Calendar Widget"
link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
Hm, indeed. This seems to be quite an old problem, at least since Marshmallow. The only solution so far is finding a calendar app that doesn't sync its state with the system. So far I know of Month widget.
I use this one since my S4... and love it! I use it in conjunction with Nova Launcher so I can make homescreen icons smaller, larger grids, etc. and leave more space for the entire month to show.
Try out this it helps me and I've been using for years over my stock Calendar. God Willingly your epilepsy disappears and never comes back. Hopefully you get a fast recovery all the best.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I dont normally hijack posts like this (and I am in no way affiliated), but for those looking to replicate Googles month view widget, but want to customize it, there is an app called
I've been using for a ridiculously long time (4 years almost). It has tons of themes and layouts, both with actual events in text view and simple dots.
They also have agenda widgets as well.
Some suggestions I have are:
Month Widget. Put this on your homescreen so that you see how many events you have whenever you unlock your phone.
Inbox. Like gmail, but more focused on snoozing emails and creating reminders. You can use this with Nova to create new reminders using a gesture. (find the setting in Nova Settings -> gestures -> shortcuts -> inbox reminder)
I used Month for a year or so, but I've since gone back to the standard calendar app.
But there's plenty of pretty options including transparent in there. Easy enough to use and links to your already made calendars anyway.
Thats Month Calendar Widget. Its showing a day view of his calendar, I believe. He's mentioned it in one of his previous phone setup videos, and his setup is pretty similar from his previous phones.
Launcher: Nova Icons: Whicons Month widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos Pill widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.accountmaster.pixelwidget Wallpaper: Smooth Blue, Material category in Backdrops app Theme (TouchWiz only): Material Flat Blue
Is Outlook for calendar or for your email? If it's a calendar, I use Month and it has a widget that is just the month, days, and any events noted with a dot. My homepage
For the longest time this was the main feature I missed from Sense back in the Gingerbread days. While this is a nice to have finally, it looks pretty bad compared to Month Calendar Widget with their material theme.
Thank you!
Calendar widget called: "Month Calendar Widget"
Search bar is from Action Launcher 3
^ It took me a while to find a nice one, hope this saves you some time
I'm a big fan of Month. Been running for almost a year now and it's just really beautiful. Syncs with google calendar and all that. It does have IAP for extra themes, but the basic ones are still pretty good. I've purchased a few to support the dev. Plus, some of the paid ones are just gorgeous.
• All items have hotspots to open designated items.
Month Play Store
•Tap the day and it allows a popup for all items of the day.
Last page is a custom Zooper that I created. Tap the App drawer sign and Nova App Drawer pops up.
Whoops! Forgot to include that. Month Calendar.
Thanks!
It's a widget called Month. It's really nice, it has multiple themes to choose from and is interactive so you don't ever have to go into a calendar app if you don't want to.
Is your app similar to Month:Calendar Widget? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I've grown quite fond of that widget, but always love new apps that can provide more. Your's seems to do the same thing, but this one is free. What can yours offer more of this one?
Month: Calendar Widget is a great app. The list-agenda popups are so nice.
Wow nice thanks
This is the widget he's talking about, there are a few other similar names in the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Month - by miles. Can even see full event details from the widget (by tapping on date)
Hmm.. So seems like I wouldn't need Month anymore :)
I use today calendar, and Month for calendar widget
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Try out Month calendar, I find it invaluable
The best widget is Month, hands down.
Month is pretty good. You can buy Themes for Money, but it's still worth it. The basic ones are not that bad at all..
Best one imo
I second this. It looks wayyy better than the stock widget.
You can check it out here
Check out "Month". Can customize for no transparency. Love it, can make any grid size.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I'm finally finished making the music player page and feel comfortable enough with how it turned out to post the final product.
Again, Nova Launcher, KLWP, and KWGT.
Icons are compacticons
Here's the wallpaper which I shifted up.
The calender is from the Month widget.
And all of the files you need are here.
Edit: Infinite scroll is not turned on in Nova because it doesn't work with the KLWP animation I chose for the music player. If you want, you can change the animation to fade, which works with infinite scroll.
I really like Month Calendar WidgetMonth Calendar Widget
Any weather widget that you like (AccuWeater, 1Weather, etc).
the widget of Google Keep/Evernote or any other note taking app
Sound Search for Google Play or Shazam or anything else
These are all the good ones I know and I couldn't really find anymore even with Google. I'd also consider some of these ones useless/unnecessary, for example I've never needed a weather widget, I'd rather just add a shortcut to forecast.io, I never used any music widget, since if you're playing a song it's already in the notification center, I've never used any clock widget, since it's already in the status bar, and so on, but not everyone uses their phones the same way, so it's great that everyone has the choice to decide if they want to use widgets or not.
You should get the Month widget for a nice calendar on a page! Maybe page 5 on the right.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
I recommend Month. Its widget is awesome and material design.
It's Month
Nova Launder Prime (5x12 grid)
Time Widget: Zooper, Future font
Custom Google search bar: Used Zooper to create "google" text. Used Custom ICS Search widget to create completely transparent search bar. Allowed widget overlapping in Nova settings, and layered zooper widget over search widget.
For anyone that wants an alternative I'm a fan of Month. Was using it before but this might be new one I use haha
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
that particular skin is in the in-app store
I was told I should x-post here from /r/androidthemes.
Some info regarding the theme:
This was wholly inspired by /u/fred3000. I used his template to begin with, and simply customized it to my liking.
I have slowly been working at replacing the app screen icons with ones that I use, but it has been slow going as I find the ones I like.
You can find the template (with a few icons changed) here if you'd like to try it out. I'd love to see what some of the creative minds here can come up with!
The Launcher is Nova Prime, and the unread counts are from Tesla Unread + transparent icons overlayed on the wallpaper, and the calendar is a widget called Month.
The icons on the main screen were extracted from Moonshine via ThemeX while the icons on the 'app' screen are Iride UI.
This was asked a few weeks ago...
https://old.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/petgh4/my_first_android_phone/
My comment on that thread:
> Something that I see a lot of people do on Android is leave the default homescreen settings, and after installing a few apps their homescreen becomes a cluttered mess (this is one thing Apple does better for people who can't be bothered to clean up or change the setting). My recommendation is to long press anywhere empty on your home screen and choose Home Settings. From there, turn off the toggle for "Add app icons to Home screen". This will make it so new apps that you install don't automatically get added to the screen. I also recommend setting up the home screen with apps and folders that you will use regularly. The app drawer can hold everything, and your home screen can remain a focused space to get you into your most used apps.
> My other rec is to turn off auto rotation on your device. However, Google has a new approach to that coming in Android 12 (coming out next month or so) that will set the rotation using the camera. You might just wait to check that out.
> On Gboard, Google's default keyboard, note that the spacebar is a cursor mover. So open up a note taking app, type in a bunch of text in a note and swipe right to left on the space bar, and you'll notice the cursor moves backwards. If you keep your finger down and swipe the other direction, you'll see it go the other way.

For a month view - definitely Month. Clear view and it shows that little gift box icon for birthdays :)
It's called month. It's free from the playstore. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Best Calendar Widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
Probably Month.
Mostly made in KLWP, except for the calendar which is Month Calendar Widget.

I use the Shelf just as a calendar with the Calendar Widget: Month app. Here's a pic with a bonus home screen pic (Everything on my home screen is a widget, actually. The icons are custom folders from JINA App Drawer).
It is Calender Widget : Month.
Ps. Sorry for the late response.
Month Calender Widget. The free version is very decent, but if you unlock all the themes it'll be even more gorgeous.

Month fills those 3 needs
This goes by the simple name of Month. You can also tap the day for an agenda view. Quite handy.
I know about the font size, but it's incredibly small when is goes low enough to not wrap to the second line.

Simple Calendar Pro - Events & Reminders (Be notified of the important moments in your life.) - https://f-droid.org/app/com.simplemobiletools.calendar.pro is also really really good and allows you to manage a lot of calendars and protocols.
And finally, for an extremely solid all in one solution, you have https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninefolders.hd3 that manage, well, almost everything (exchange mails, caldav webdav etc)

With Sesame making its debut on Nova Launcher, I wanted to have more of a focus on search for things rather than having a grid of my most used apps.
The calendar is made up of 2 widgets:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
and
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.auge
Calendar Widget - Month
Zooper Widgt - Fox for Zooper
Music Widget - Shuttle
Icon Pack - Tiny White Icon
Laucher - Nova Launcher
Wallpaper - Link
Is is this one? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Has multiple beautiful themes,
You can edit directly from the widget and it syncs with Google calendar.
I've been using Month for the last few months, very happy with it. It has a lot of themes and the widget's animations are very smooth.
Thanks, yeah, I like the color, too! The calendar is a widget; been combining KLWP with widgets lately. It's called Month
He might be using Month and one of its themes
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
Digical has some nice widgets, but the best I've found so far is Calendar Widget: Month
I quite like Calendar Widget: Month
It's Month Widget. It's a very cool app that has plenty of calendar themes.
I love Month(Calendar Widget). I wish Google Calendar had this type of widget.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
I think the calendar image you posted is this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
(I'm not entirely sure if that's your screenshot or you found it somewhere else).
I'm using Nova Launcher Prime (you need prime for the gestures),
Zooper by Beard 3 For the tiny weather icon,
Trident for Zooper for the clock,
Flight for the wallpaper and quick drawer icons,
Adastra and Lumos for the app drawer icons,
and my own zooper configurations. The black overlays to the left and right have special functions that I didn't showcase in the gif. The one to the left- If you tap anywhere on the bottom half, nothing happens, so you don't accidentally trigger anything trying to do gestures. If you tap at the top half, it opens Jack's MW configuration. If you tap in the top left corner, it opens zooper configuration for that widget.
You will have to buy the Minimal theme pack, but it is called Month
I like this one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
Its a widget/app called 'Month'
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
All the icons moving vertically are all repeated. All I did was adjust how many icons I wanted and changed the icons according to what i wanted to open to.
For the stars and shooting stars its basically a bunch of stars on a continuous loop. Same as the shooting star. I also dimmed the background so it will look better.
The bottom half is just nova. I changed the icons individually while keeping my main icons as dives as u can see by my app drawer
Widgets:
And a simple Google search bar. The rest like weather is from KLWP. I'm still trying to learn this app, you can say I'm still a noob at this as I'm still watching tuts on YouTube lol.
Here's the klwp file. Sorry for my bad formatting lol.

Thanks!
The calendar is month calendar: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos
And I made the weather widget in Zooper.
I have been looking for threads like this, there are a lot of great roms on XDA, but I don't want to constantly reset my phone to try all the different ones. I wish there way sticky thread every week that allows people to discuss this and share their screen shots from the week.
Any ways, I am running TEKXodus N4 5.1.1 URv2.1 right now, and it has been pretty flawless. Most of the issues I believe are tied to TW in general. I had to deal with wakelocks in particular including, com.google.android.gms (location), com.android.providers.calendar (calendar) and stock clock app. Of these I was only really able to fix the clock wakelock by freezing all the clock stuff using Titanium backup and using Sleep as Android instead. The calendar wakeup I believe was mainly due to Calendar Storage app, which i can't disable as its a google service than sync all the calendars. Instead, I have been using Month calendar widget. As far as the location wakelock, I have been having infamous GPS issues which I have not been able to solve.
Here is a the link to the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/rom-boc4-tekxodus-n4-urv1-4-14-15-note4-t3082085
Calendar Widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.candl.chronos&hl=en
Sleep as Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.sleep&hl=en
Let me know if anybody is interested in screen shots at the end of my day and I will try to post them.
Sorry, it's this.

Lollipop on Nexus 5.
Month calendar widget. Loads of different themes on that too but I like the simple one.
Month: Calendar Widget Devs are able to do this somehow.
Might want to speak with them about something like that?
Are you using this app?
Month: Calendar Widget I use it as well and I love it.
Try this one as an alternative though, frankly I think it's better:
