I have created an app to discover and promote new apps, still with some bugs I am solving: AppHunt The idea is like reddit, you submit an app and it appears in the front page. The position depends on the number of votes, with time the app goes to the botton of the ranking until it is removed. Every week and month you can see the top apps. You can also have a conversation about the app.
AppHunt Great at finding new and exciting apps! Looking for something new? AppHunt will have it with simple voting to let know what's worth your time.
So which one AppHunt app is the original? This one from AppHunt Inc or the one from jorgemf (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.livae.apphunt.app)? I'm using the latter one and it's pretty cool and way prettier.
/r/androidapps /r/androidgaming
It also depends on what kinds of apps you're looking for.

I usually promote my app via r/android, r/androidApps, xda, apphun. Sometimes I make a sale. But the most important marketing way I think is ASO. You can search for it on Google, there's a lot of good resources. The tools I use for keyword research are appAnie and sensorTower
It's not a sub but you could try AppHunt.
I check it occasionally to see which apps are trending.
Try this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.livae.apphunt.app
The dev recently announced it here on reddit.

OS: Android 7.1.2, rooted with Lineage 14.1 as my ROM.
All apps were mainly found by using XDA Labs, Apphunt, Drippler & of course, here.
No problem! I found it last week on AppHunt if anyone is wondering.
It has been long time since I shared the version 1.0 here. The app has evolved a lot during this time. Besides sharing and discover apps now you can start talks, share links, share apks, there are notifications, followers, the web page has content too, themes, search, filters, bookmarks, top hunters...
PSA: Be aware that there are two apps named "AppHunt" in the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.livae.apphunt.app
I personally use the one I linked.
I find a lot of good apps on Apphunt

Twitter provides just 3 levels of permissions: Read Read, Write Read, Write, and Direct Messages
I use Read, Write permission level, by using Twitter4j api, which contains bundle of you mentioned permissions. This was figured out by Twitter, i cant change that.
I think all of you are missing one thing about the Play Store. It is a store for everybody! I mean my mother, my grandfather or even a young child can use it. So it does make sense to remove all the possible options and show the most used apps for more users. The apps in the play store are ranked by downloads, rate, updates, ... but mostly they measure the time the users spend in the apps and how long does it takes to the users to uninstall an app. Of course this is not good for discovering new apps (self promotion: AppHunt) but it is good to have the most common apps very quickly.
AppHunt The best way to discover new Android apps!
