Since I've seen some people on here using Androids having trouble with Mixtape, here's how I use it:
Install VLC for Android.
When you click the mixtape link, open it in VLC.
It works really well for me so I thought I'd share.
Man, I've been trying out VLC for over 2 years now and really it improved lot last year. But there's still some issues with it...
One of the gripe is there's no option to see videos based on folders in VLC like they have in MX, so the video library often ends up being messy. (Fix: The closest solution for now is to use the Directories tab instead of Video tab from Sidebar and manually browsing to the video folders)
Also for some reason VLC tends to use more battery than MX? Maybe there's some Tweaks/Settings option to fix this? (changing decoder or something?)
Option to ask in Video startup if you wanna Resume from last position or Restart the video like in MX. (Fix: OK fixed this from Settings -> Interface -> Ask confirmation to resume ��)
The Subtitle download is kinda unreliable, also there's no "Custom Text Search" for downloading subtitles as of now unlike MX so it often ends up not finding subtitles. (This REALLY need to be fixed)
Anyways I really hope that VLC devs fixes this stuff, as VLC is probably the best alternative at this point.

I'm pretty sure that was meant to be [Cardboard VNC](/r/GoogleCardboard/comments/303e7p/i_made_a_cardboard_vnc_app_to_learn_android/), as VNC is a method to share a frame buffer over a network, while VLC is a movie player with no relation to Cardboard. Trinus VR also has the (recently added and still rough) option to show the Windows desktop in Cardboard. For both cases don't expect too much, the resolution is too low to use it for real desktop applications, and [this will take some time and hardware generations to change](/r/virtualreality/comments/39p90o/am_i_alone_in_wanting_vr_just_to_have_more_work/).

If your computer doesn't have a USB-C port you need a USB-C to USB-A cable like this one. You can usually get them at gas stations or dollar stores.
Your phone connects and works like a USB flash drive. Put whatever media you have into whatever folders you wish on the phone. Whatever media app you use should be able to find them. I recommend VLC.
Android phones work more like tradidional computers do rather than iPhones.
You might still be able to play the video on it. Try VLC like /u/LifeLikeAndPoseable mentioned.

Personally, I still use MX Player as my video player, but VLC for Android is a good alternative. Also, I've never tried Light Manager, but I use Light Flow on my Nexus 4 and I've never had any issues with it.
What's the format of the video files? It could be an issue with the format, so a conversion may be needed. Handbreak for the desktop is a good video conversion software that can also down sample the resolution to a more manageable one if you want to try that out as an option.
Do you know the name of the app that your phone is using to play the videos? It could also be worth downloading VLC on your phone and playing the videos on there to ensure that the files didn't get messed up while being transferred to your desktop (data corruption, somehow). If they play in VLC on your phone but not in VLC on the desktop, then something probably went wrong during the file transfer to your desktop.
Android version from the Play Store is another option. A little clunky, but usable.
I tried the version from the Chrome web store several years ago but quickly abandoned it as unreliable. Hasn't been updated since 2015, so if that's what you've been using, you'll be much happier with the Android or Linux versions.

if you have a USB c cable you should he able to connect the switch directly to a computer (probably a phone as well) without the need to turn off switch take SD card and use adapter

When you post a video online or view it on another player (other than google photos like VLC) on your phone, it will play fine.
Google Photos app is the culprit here.
As for blurry image turn off Auto HDR in camera settings. Pretty sure that auto HDR is getting kicked in automatically.
Tip : For shooting fast moving subjects (cats), don't use HDR.
Another option for step 5: like LocalCast (ad-supported, can remove ads for a fee), the media player VLC for Android can be used to stream your local or networked media to Chromecast. VLC is free and ad-free.
If you're on Android, then you're talking about "Motion Photos". A Motion Photo does have a "still" version, which you can see if you press the "Motion on/off" button at the top. However, if you're trying to capture a point in the motion that isn't the final "still" photo, here's a method I've done before (Note: it's not super straight-forward and there might be a better way):
1. In the Google Photos app, find the Motion Photo you want to capture a still part of.
2. Tap the vertical "..." on the picture, and select the "Export" option.
3. There should be an "Export as..." pop-up, with options for Video, GIF, or Still photo. Select "Video".
4. The next step is to pause the video and screenshot the moment you want. The unfortunate/annoying thing about Google Photos is that its video player never hides the "Play" button. Many other video players on Android do. So... you'll need to download another video player (VLC for Android is a reputable option), and pause the video at the moment you want, and screenshot it.
And that's the very roundabout way I've taken ~~pictures~~ screenshots of the moment I want out of a Motion Photo. I don't do it often.
Install & configure UMS on your PC and use VLC for Android to listen, and make sure both your devices connected to the same network.

You may not need it depending on your dash cam and your phone. Try things out with an OTG adaptor, if everything works with the software the manufacturer installed on your phone then great. If not, then try something like I did.

Download VLC, it's compatible with pretty much anything out there. I couldn't play the videos from my SG9665GC on my phone without VLC.

I noticed this too and was wondering what happened. I can still see it if I'm logged in presumably since I already installed it, but I don't see the ability to install it on anything else. I'm curios what's up, I can't see anything . You can still grab it off APKMirror apparently. Wonder if they were planning on updating the main beta version so it updates naturally or they found a critical bug with it or some other oops. If anyone finds out what the deal is/was let me know.

Have you thought of just transferring the audio over MTP or whatever? I think just adb doesn't actually update the file index. Otherwise see if the app you're using has the option to rescan - I think VLC has this option, I'm not 100%.

As to playing YouTube videos, if you present VLC with a video URL, it will play it.
VLC works for me.
It plays in background and i can set playback speed. That is all what i want.
Tip: if you are listening to a audiobook with more than one chaper and have multiple files, make a playlist. It is one time process and free you from navigating file manager each time you want to listen tothe book.

You have several options, but these stand out to me. I use both on my Android with no problems with the music I have on my phone:
I know there are a ton of players out there, you could always give one of those a try.
This is why I don't buy movies digitally anymore (they're far worse as you can't even get DRM free files), and stopped buying music ~2011 when Spotify came to the US, you're not buying ownership, you're buying access.
Games it bothers me far less, most games these days require online servers anyways, and I fully expect stadia to last longer than the game servers, or some new game to come around and replace the older game.
If you really want to buy your music online, a store like 7 digital that's focused on DRM free music purchases and files would probably be best.

Maybe their phone compresses before sending (otherwise a video would be huge)? And it's sending via MMS? Definitely don't want to send huge data over text messages (expensive? unless you have a good SMS MMS plan).
Can they send the same video through WhatsApp or another method, so it may be the original or similar quality.
Video player? Any player should be working ok for you, even the Samsung one?...

Since logging isn't revealing anything awry with Tasker's functionality, the next thing to do is confirm your non-Tasker statements.
Have you tried installing a different music player (e.g. VLC) and playing this /storage/emulated/0/Notifications/MP3-Number2.mp3 file directly, to make sure it sounds different from the other file?
Are both files in the same directory? Do they have the same permissions and different byte lengths? You could maybe try copying (not moving) the second one into a different directory with an extremely different filename, see if it works better.
Try VLC you can stream the you-tube video and convert/save to your phone, it would be worth doing a search for an instructional post or you-tube video to follow if you're unsure how to do it.

I have a Note 9 and the Samsung video player does allow you to drag finger across the screen to skip, double tapping doesn't work, but hey if you don't like this you can always replace the default video player, unlike on iOS. My main recommendation is VLC, it's free and it'll play any video format.

This sounds like a video player issue. Try different (external) players (for instance, VLC) and different settings. Try software (SW) decoding appose to hardware (HW) decoding.
I'm pretty sure it's VLC Player. There's a VlcPlayerActivity and other VLC stuff in the smali code. I doubt if the standalone version has this ip sharing functionality..
If you want to watch a 3D movie from, for instance MegaBox HD on your TV, you can share the stream-url in MX Player by pressing the menu button and then Tools and then Share. The url will be too long to type in manually but you could use an url shortener app to fix that. Just a thought..

Ah right, when you plug it in via USB, an Android notification will pop up, saying something like "Charging this device via USB". You want to tap that notification, and then select "File Transfer" in the menu that opens.

You'll also need to make sure that you've got the packages required to mount exFAT formatted disks on Linux. So if you're on an apt based system, run:

As for KDE Connect, you'd need to install this app on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kde.kdeconnect_tp, install the kde-connect package on your Linux PC, and then pair from within the Android app. If you set it up correctly, it'll show your phone's storage as a connected drive in your file manager.

Depending on your setup you can use this link a few different ways...
- If you go directly to the link in your browser, it will probably download a file - "master.m3u8". Open the file and it will play in whatever default application your device/computer can handle.
- If you have a media player like VLC (this is my go-to) you can just start the stream directly in the app. For instance...

- If using VLC on a PC:
- Go to "Media" (top-left drop-down menu).
- Select "Open Network Stream".
- Paste the URL, and just click "Play". The stream will start right up inside of VLC and you can watch it in all its glory.

- If using VLC on Android:
- Tap the hamburger menu (three stacked lines).
- Select "Stream".
- Paste the URL, and just tap the orange arrow (or enter). The stream will start right up for you.

- If using VLC on iPhone/iPad...I don't know the specific steps within the app since I'm an Android user, but it's likely not far off from the steps I mentioned for Android.

Nesse período junino eu visito cidades que ficam no interior de Pernambuco (ainda que relativamente próximas, como Gravatá e Bezerros).
Eu faço essa viagem já escutando forró no carro. Aí... pra facilitar, o que eu faço é colocar a app do VLC (ou qualquer outra app que converse o protocolo) no meu Android, adiciono os endereços de streaming de algumas rádios e salvo no VLC.
Depois é só tocar a rádio que eu quero que fica de boas.
Outra coisa massa que dá pra fazer é escutar rádios locais que eu curto ainda que eu esteja num local em que o sinal de transmissão por rádio não chega.
Por exemplo, gosto de escutar a Frei Caneca FM (daqui de Recife) mesmo quando não estou fisicamente localizado em Recife (ex: em São Paulo).

Outro cenário que rola é a "89: A Rádio Rock". Recife, na década de 90, teve uma filial local da Rádio Rock. Mas em pouco tempo, essa rádio fechou aqui. E eu gostava muito da curadoria deles.

If mobile access to your recordings (when not on your home network) is a must, I would recommend a software such as Plex. It works well for mobile streaming of our recordings with remote connections.

Google does a version of this, each app has all of its permissions spelled out before you install it and as the app requests permission to access each of those things your phone will ask you to allow it.
Apple is taking it further by requiring details around why each permission is required and what the collected data will be used for, so that's great. Some developers have chosen to do this willingly in their descriptions on the Play Store.

Privacytools is just a website that lists an option based on various criteria or user voting. They don't necessarily list the best or most popular or easiest to use or all the viable options. A number of people give the suggestions PT lists too much weight. They are merely a couple options.

DVDs use the MPEG-2 codec (video compression algorithm), which is very outdated and needs a lot of space to achieve reasonable image quality. I would recommend looking into the DVD player's manual, find out which codecs and file formats are supported and then use a program like Xmedia Recode (for older DVD players) or Handbrake (for newer devices, depending on the format you need) to convert the video. In the manual - which should be available online if you don't have a physical one handy - there should also be info about how big a media file can be. You'd then simply create a file, burn it onto a CD or DVD (depending on the size) and insert it.
One more thing: Experiment with different codecs and settings. Knowing which work on the DVD player from the manual is the first step, you then have to find out what kind of quality settings are supported, which ones look good while taking up a reasonable amount of space on the disc. You have to pay attention to aspects such as resolution, bitrate and audio formats. I'd recommend downloading a short video from Youtube and converting it into several different formats with different settings, then burn them all onto a disc and see which ones work. That's the method I used to copy a few films for a relative.
Authoring a DVD on the other hand would be more complicated and really unnecessary - and you'd be limited to MPEG-2. Even older DVD players support at least a simple version of MPEG-4, which is much better.
There is a far less labor-intensive alternative to all of this. If your mom's TV has HDMI, you can just insert a Google Chromecast, a simple streaming device that can be bought for less than 30 bucks used. Controlled via a smartphone or tablet, it can stream video from the Internet or a local device, which does not have to be converted beforehand. You can simply place a video file on a phone or PC and then use a media player like VLC on Android (just hit the Chromecast icon, a TV combined with a wireless symbol, in the corner) or a media center software like Plex on PC. The latter scans folders with movies, music, TV shows and other media, downloads info like genre, cast, year, etc. and then presents it with a powerful UI. It's like your own private Netflix, just with many more features.
It really depends on your mom. If she's already using a smartphone or tablet, it would make sense to make use of it. If she's not tech-savvy enough, then converting videos makes more sense.

I flip back and forth between Apollo, which I've been using for years, and VLC which is my go-to for everything on desktop(for me, Linux and Windows, but VLC is pretty much on everything), because it will play virtually any audio or video file format. of the two, I'd recommend VLC, and the only reason I haven't fully switched is because I'm just more used to how Apollo works.
not only do I personally not like Winamp for a number of reasons, but I have a lot of lossless music. Apollo and VLC are the only things I've ever found that play FLAC on Android. and for a while, VLC for Android didn't exist. I also like how both of those apps let me long press my volume rockers with the screen off to skip tracks, while a tap with the screen off will still increase/decrease the volume.

I don't use FLAC, but many of my h264 .mkv video files would not open on WMP without installing a 3rd party codec pack, but M&TV handles them out of the box. You got me on CD playback, but the last CD I bought was Coolio's Gangstas Paradise so that isn't something I've noticed.

They aren't dumbed down, they are fresh and fast, they aren't bogged down by 30 year old code. I do vividly remember Word UWP being pretty basic several years ago when it launched, but they did a lot of work on it and added all the commonly used features.
