What is Reddit's opinion of Carly for BMW Pro?

I had the same problem even two years ago. Every forum post on the topic was broken, since links to downloadable software packages keep getting removed. I ended up buying a Bavarian Technic cable. It doesn't do coding, but gives me a very useful interface to my car nonetheless.

I've also looked at the BMW Carly app for Android, which allegedly supports coding to a degree. With my first tablet arriving tomorrow, I may fire up the app and give it a shot. Here's an E90post thread on it.

Yep. You can get a cable/adapter that plugins into the OBDII port to reprogram some features. On PC you can use NCSExpert. For Android/iOS you can use BMWhat. I used Android with an OTG cable and this cable. You can program the seatbelt warnings, door open warnings, one touch for the sun roof. It's easier than using NCSExpert.

Hmm, I'm interested. Is there a reliable guide somewhere? It looks like this is the thing I need to buy alongside their $60 app? Quite a pricey app but it seems $120 is still cheaper than a shop. You said there are extras, is there anything cool I should know about what I can do with this scanner?
