I would like to reccomend BlackPlayer EX
Was using Phonograph before because of its pretty looks and I was never really into the ton of options of Poweramp and I never really liked the interface that much. But dude, does Black deliver! i encourage everyone to go ahead and try atleaset the free version.
Black Player EX ^Paid
Black Player ^Free
These 2 are pretty damn sexy when you put in the time to customize them, and on the plus side they have good stability and functionality too.
Linkme: BlackPlayer EX Music Player
By far the best music listening apps for android with tons of customization options
Edit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex&hl=tr
I use Blackplayer EX https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
Has a very good looking black theme and animations and does a really neat job of being a good music player.
Before I changed to streaming all my music I would use Black player EX
Its been years though so I'm not sure if its changed though. I used google play music and had uploaded a ton of music and then they closed that and tried to push youtube music, no thanks I went with Spotify instead.
Check if you can get it through this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex&hl=es_AR (it's the paid version though, the free one is definitely not in the store anymore).
BlackPlayer EX, Retro Music Player you have to enable the option manually from the settings though.
The best one for me is BlackPlayer EX, it's a very cheap one.
There's a free version if you want to try BlackPlayer.
> blackplayer
This one? I'm still not comfortable with anything after the "demise" of MX Player and want to test more alternatives
Not sure about your specific needs, but I use Black Player EX and it's pretty great. There is a free version too lacking some features.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
I hope someone with a Samsung device could help
The best option would be this: A (paid) music player that lets you exclude folders from showing
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
Otherwise, you can add your audio books to file you created called ".nomedia" (without quotes). It tells the media scanner not to look in there, but if you use an app to access your audio books then it'll be a problem
Blackplayer is a really great music player. It's intuitive, configurable and has a very cool UI.
I was a Poweramp devotee for years and still love it, however Blackplayer just looks so nice on our AMOLED display.
I this the last blackhole music player is either spelt wrong or maybe not , anyways , i would recommend BlackPlayer EX , u can try the free version , if u like u can get the premium one which costs $3.49, worth it , been using for almost 5 years now since I save songs locally.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
But Samsung's is still better. And YT Music is more centered on streaming than playing local files. I'd definitely recommend Samsung Music. BlackPlayer X is also cool, but I think it is not developed anymore.
If you're on Android there is a music player called Black Player EX that has a bookmark feature. The bookmarks will show in a tab next to your library like this. It works great. I'll sometimes take months off from listening to old shows but where I left off is always one click away.
You can use " Sleep Timer " to take break which can be found on any decent music player app. I use Blackplayer Ex which tracks number of music playing on month basis, not day. It also has a free version to try first. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
I just found out that BlackPlayer EX works with Chromecast. You can install the Google Play Store using official instructions and then download BlackPlayer EX.
I loved Musicolet for a few days, especially because of the multiple queues, but the lack of casting is a bummer. I'm on Black Player Ex (paid, for casting integration) and it's definitely worth it. The UI is better than Musicolet, lots of customisable tweeks.
For anyone interested, they both work really well for music that's deep into folders on the SD card. I'm talking Android/data/app folders.
I use Blackplayer personally. There's a free version that's just as good as the paid version. It's one of the two or three apps I've ever actually spent money on though, well worth it. Super customizable, tons of features, tagging, no fuckery with your library. I've got about 120GB in the library at the moment and it's as smooth as butter.
There is on Google Play Store, check the description of the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex&hl=pt_PT
Your current UI with all those damn notifications ain't my tongue buds, nose smells, eyelookin, h*ear*ing and touchy feely goddamnn 😅
-
Edit: Also I highly recommend BlackPlayer EX
Best app for FLAC playback is Blackplayer EX but music players can be very subjective - someone else here might have a better solution.
As for using a USB hub, I wouldn't bank on it working. AA is very picky when it comes to what USB connections it will/won't work with, and it only seems to get worse over time. Instead of trying to use a splitter/hub and have both an SSD and your phone plugged in, you're likely going to have a lot more luck just playing FLAC files off your phone directly. Of course for this it's better to find a phone with a microSD slot and just popping in a 256GB+ card (depending on how big your flac library is, you might be able to get away with 128GB)
Well, if you like to listen to music, there's this music player called BlackPlayer Ex ( r/blackplayer ). Very customizable, very cool. And they have a Black Friday Sale going on across the world this week, which is the only time the app is on sale, so look it up. I bought mine last year for under $ 0.8 converted. I suppose prices vary across countries. (It's currently $ 0.6 converted where I'm from)

This was on the first page of google...
It depends on what playback app you're using. Ones that use their own font for the UI will substitute characters that are not in it's font with glyphs. I recommend BlackPlayer EX ($3.29*USD*). It uses the Android system fonts by default so more characters aren't substituted, and you can customize the font to be more inclusive of special characters.
It's an app that requires you to BYOL (bring your own library) lol. Personally, I go back and forth between this and Tidal. I don't really like Spotify all that well tbh
I use BlackPlayer ex https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
Maybe it will work for your needs. I don't have a huge collection of music, I usually use Spotify instead.
Blackplayer is really nice. Sync for Reddit is really good as well. I honestly struggle finding apps to buy with my Google survey money that I would actually find useful.
I don't think it was on beta. I am using it since 1 month now. And i am liking it. Here is the paid version. Try free version if it fulfills your requirement, go for Ex(paid) version. It's a good app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
Although a great desktop player, I would never recommend this mobile version over something like BlackPlayer. I even made the highlight review under clean user interface. I'd recommend reading that review to get an idea. Also, the free version is the same just without a few extra customization options.
It's just the widget that comes with BlackPlayer EX (I think it might come with regular BlackPlayer), I put some lines around it in with rectangles in zooper, I might make the lines a part of the wallpaper instead so I don't need as many widgets.
Also check out BlackPlayer. That's what I've been using. I'm going to try out GoneMad and compare 'em. GoneMad looks a bit more configurable.
Edit: Forget what I said. GoneMad is amazing.
I am big PowerAMP fan. But lately I have been trying this new player. It's really slick. There is a free version too. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex&hl=en
I don't get my music from torrents ;)
Used PowerAmp for years. Have replaced it with BlackPlayer EX for the much better UI/UX.
Black Player EX. Tried everything. Keep coming back to this.
Other recommendations are: Abbey Music Player and Retro Music Player
My personal favorite is BlackPlayer EX ($2.00 USD). When I made the switch to Android, a good music app was my first concern. I had owned an iPod touch 5g before, and really liked the music app. After trial and error between dozens of apps, BlackPlayer had proven to have everything I needed. I hadn't updated it until just recently, and I must say, it's even better now. More customization and a better UI are now part of the app. You can even set a custom font for the library browser now, and the UI has a gradient sample theme for your albums. The app also has a tag/metadata editor so you can manage the tags of your library on-the-go. BlackPlayer also has remote support, so if you have a headset or earbuds with a remote, you have all standard music controls to manage the app without waking your device:
Play/pause
Next track/previous track
Volume up/volume down
Of all the playback apps I've tried on Android, BlackPlayer EX is well worth the price. Alternatively, there is a free version: BlackPlayer. There aren't too many differences, so if you don't mind some minimal banner ads the free version works just as well. Poweramp is a close second, but not close enough for what I look for in a playback app.
BlackPlayer EX The best alternative to Poweramp.
BlackPlayer Ex - Very good app with good functionalities.
This is how it looks.
Themes - Mainly material & blurred theme
Edit: Enable "prefer embedded cover" from settings > Metadata.
You can also try retro music player.
Just installed it! I've been using Blackplayer EX but I'm happy to try something new.
<em>BlackPlayer EX</em> has never let me down. Plays everything I throw at it.
Here's another take at this /u/kaleddu7, when doing it to make your picture square: https://i.imgur.com/XROXNuj.png
This is similar to what BlackPlayer EX does for artist images on the lockscreen for Android.
First what you want to do is change your canvas size (canvas, not image) and make the smaller side as big as the larger side. Make sure you make it transparent and keep your image centered.
Second you want to duplicate your picture's layer and place the new one underneath your original pic. Now what you want to do is resize that duplicate picture to fill the empty canvas, I suggest you keep the original ratio and let the sides get cropped out. (alt+drag corner in Photoshop)
Third all is left to do is apply blur to the duplicate picture. In my example I used field blur set to 20px.
And here's a video of the whole process because I'm bored :D
List made using List My Apps
It's BlackPlayer. Not sure if it's available on the iOS, but there's the Android link.
BlackPlayer EX Music Player is my favorite music player. It was worth the cost to me.
Blackplayer Ex is very convenient. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
My bad, slightly wrong name.

Try it with BlackPlayer EX
Here's a bunch that I use. I like you only use a PC for work and my phone for everything else.

I use Blackplayer ex. It searches for local music and adds it to it's playlist. I hope it works for you.
Same way you've joined the Beta, only the other way around: You can leave the Beta on the Google Play Store page:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
Standard Notes - Basic notepad the syncs with encryption to your desktop. Free version works fine.
Bitwarden - Open Source Password Manage.
Fing - Network scanner app.
Black Player EX - Android music player
Mostly extra customisation. There is a list of additional features on the About section on the okay store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
I use this player and just don't bother with that stuff
I personally use Blackplayer EX
BlackPlayer Ex. The best offline music layer hands down.
Check out BlackPlayer EX for your mp3's. I have been using it for some years now.
> Why not use iTunes?
If you intend to stick to the Apple ecosystem, iTunes is probably your only bet. However, as someone who was once glued to the Apple ecosystem and thought that things were just fine the way they were because everything "just worked", I simply think the grind to make yourself fit with the software instead of it being the other way around is not worth it. iTunes scales very poorly with huge libraries even on high-end rigs, and Musicbee simply steamrolled iTunes for me because of how flexible, and well optimised it is. Once you make the switch, the only thing you're going to miss are the micro animations that Apple designers had put out in iTunes, and nothing else. Even the UI is highly customisable, and to automate a lot of things, you would have no need for hacky solutions like AppleScripts or VBScripts, everything is baked into MusicBee itself.
> Resources for album art?
A lot of people have suggested AlbumArtExchange here, but I've seen posts about nonsensical IP banning from their end. Riptide is an alternative, but their servers are janky as well. I personally use the built in album art fetcher of MusicBee since it also fetches album art from the iTunes servers. Note that automated means of fetching album art would have low success rates with obscure music and/or VGM.
> Best size and format for album art?
Anything between 600 x 600 and 1200 x 1200 is decent enough. Anything below 600 px is too small for modern devices and anything above 1200 px is overkill for embedding as metadata. You could keep really large album art as a separate file, though. *.JPG is the most common (and for valid reasons) but make sure to grab the high quality ones or you'll start seeing artifacts. For full scans of releases, I'm not sure as I don't collect scans. TIFF, perhaps?
> Decent MP3 Player?
If you cheap out on a DAP, I simply think that the prices are not worth it to keep a separate device for music. The high-end ones are really pricey and so the only middle ground would be mid-range Android smartphones with microSD expansions. If you're in for that, I'd recommend getting BlackPlayer EX. The pictures on the store don't justify how amazing it can look if tweaked properly (and this is coming from someone who has been disappointed with how most of the Android apps look compared to their iOS counterparts). If Android is not your thing, used iPods are the only option at disposal within a reasonable price range but be wary that you'll be stuck with with fixed storage unless you opt in for a modded iPod Classic with 1-2 TB storage, which again, would cost you a pretty penny.
It's awesome BlackPlayer Ex. They also have a free version. I absolutely love it, definitely worth checking.
BlackPlayer EX. It is a paid app but the customisability is unrivalled and best alternative to Poweramp.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex
There's also a free version
BlackPlayer EX: if you are into offline music then this is the best app.
Bouncer: to increase your privacy by allowing some app permission only when you use them.
KWGT (Kustom Widget): if you are into customisation then define kyu go for it, it works seamlessly with Nova Launcher.

I use Blackplayer EX, I love it.
A few recommendations which can play music per folder:
I have both BlackPlayer EX and Shuttle+, the former being the one I use the most, and they are all very solid music players, can't go wrong with any of them.
Foobar for music on PC. Yandex as a minimalist browser
BlackPlayer EX -great minimalist widget- or Phonograph -great UI- for mobile music players, BeyondPod for Podcasts, another great widget, it's even been if you fork out some
For mail on mobile I use inbox I think they did a great job with the UI and with the popups.
the design is really good, but the randomization software is "meh" in that one, I would say https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kodarkooperativet.blackplayerex is better
