In general, most people are interested in what we're working on, and what we're working with. We have been making pushes recently to get significantly more test coverage for our Android and API modules. We're focusing a lot on building highly injectable classes. This allows us to provide mockable components all around the implementation. In addition, we're focusing on implementing our API codebase, as well as various other components in a reactive manner via an RxJava implementation. Finally, to touch on the product side of things, the Android team is largely autonomous. While we work with design and other teams to have beautiful design and great ideas passed around, we do things The Android Way™, which is extremely beneficial to the user as they're provided with an experience that feels at home on the Android platform.

SeatGeek’s mission is to help the world experience more live – concerts, sports, theater, and more – and our Android app is vital to making that vision a reality. Our humble, yet bold goal since we launched SeatGeek on Android has been to set the standard for live events on the platform. Live events are a source of real human happiness, we’re doing what we can to make sure ticketing doesn’t get in the way.
We're actively hiring for May graduates right now! We're looking for students that have a strong fundamental base in coding and are passionate about the Android platform. We've got a small (4 right now), mostly senior and growing team here at SeatGeek working on revamping our codebase to scale into the future as we prepare for the return of live events next year.

I'm Stephen, the EM on our Android team here and I've been with the team for over 6 years new , happy to answer any questions folks might have!

SeatGeek’s mission is to help the world experience more live – concerts, sports, theater, and more – and our Android app is vital to making that vision a reality. Our humble, yet bold goal since we launched SeatGeek on Android over five years ago has been to set the standard for live events on the platform. Live events are a source of real human happiness, we’re doing what we can to make sure ticketing doesn’t get in the way.
We care deeply about our product and user experience, so we look to hire people that are motivated and driven to deliver Android UIs that are second-to-none by working closely with our product and design teams from start to finish on each feature we ship. We’re also committed to strong engineering practices and have been early adopters of some great tools like RxJava and Kotlin to make our development experience more enjoyable; we’re always looking to improve.
For more information about SeatGeek, check out our jobs page and ChairNerd, our product development blog. We’re building something that's purposefully, willfully for Android, through and through. We’re defining live events on Android and we're hoping you can help.
I'm Jack and I've been on the Android team at SeatGeek for about 2 years now. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have!

SeatGeek’s mission is to help the world experience more live—concerts, sports, theater, and more—and our Android app is vital to making that vision a reality. As mobile has become ubiquitous, we expect to be able to use our phones to do just about everything. For SeatGeek users, that means searching, discovering, purchasing, transferring, selling, and scanning tickets. Not only do our users expect to be able to do those things, they expect them to be seamless experiences so they can focus on what matters: being there. Our humble, yet bold goal since we launched SeatGeek on Android over five years ago has been setting the standard for the live events experience on the platform. Live events are a source of real human happiness; we’re doing what we can to make sure ticketing doesn’t get in the way.
To that end, some of our biggest achievements include:
The Android engineering team at SeatGeek features active members of the New York and global Android communities, including engineers that have spoken at meetups and conferences. We care deeply about our product and user experience, so we look to collaborate with people that are motivated and driven to deliver Android UIs that are second-to-none by working closely with our product and design teams from start to finish on each feature that we ship. We’re also committed to strong engineering practices and we’ve been early adopters of some great tools like RxJava and Kotlin to make our development experience more enjoyable; we’re always looking to improve.
Our Android app has over a million downloads and over a quarter of a million monthly users. We're building something that's purposefully, willfully for Android, through and through. We’re defining live events on Android and we're hoping you can help.
