Fantastic games, usually about $5 each. Not sure how long this price change will last.

> Who in their right mind would buy a 10+ year old port of a game for 16 fucking dollars? 5 bucks is reasonable, super reasonable. But for 16 bucks I'd rather play the original on an emulator for free.
If this is your argument, then we have Monument Valley for $3.99. An original puzzle game that's been universally praised and highly reviewed.
Comparatively, it has half a percent of the user base of Clash of Clans.
Not fair? Different genre? Okay. We also had Knights of Pen and Paper +1 for $4.99. Also universally praised, critically acclaimed. It has even less than Monument Valley.
It gets mentioned to death, but I always come back to Monument Valley.
Such a lovely and chilled game with very clever mechanics. Love it.
PSA to those who play android games Monument Valley can be downloaded for free atm
If you're into puzzle games, Monument Valley by Ustwo Games is a really well polished and relaxing game! It's a nice isometric 2.5D series of levels where you have to find your way from the start of the puzzle to the end. It has a great soothing soundtrack, a nice soft color palette and it really creates a calming ambience as you tinker your way through the levels.
It's currently $3.99 on the Google Play store but I picked it up for free during some sort of promo sale they were having a few weeks ago. Definitely check it out!
Congrats at releasing a game! That alone is a huge accomplishment!
Something to think about, all your screenshots and text don't tell me how the game is actually played
For instance: >Tricky Twists is a multiplayer body-twisting game, and it's completely FREE! This is a Live Multiplayer Social Game, which means you have to have everyone in the same room with you to play.
There should be a sentence in that first paragraph that actually describes what the goal player's are trying to accomplish is. I just know it involves body-twisting, but why am I doing that.
As a good example see the first sentence of Monument Valley's Google Play store page: >In Monument Valley you will manipulate impossible architecture and guide a silent princess through a stunningly beautiful world.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustwo.monumentvalley&hl=en
I know exactly what I am doing (manipulating architecture) and what the goal is (guide the princess through the world).

Monument Valley ihan nätti ja rento puzzle peli, sen kyllä vetäsee läpi melko nopeaan.
Badlands muistaakseni suomalaisen tekemä tommonen 2D lentelypeli missä on semmosia fysiikkapohjasia esteitä ja visuaalisesti kanssa hieno. Suht haastavia jotkut tasot.
Muutaman vuoden vanhoja taitaa molemmat jo olla, mutta suosittelen jos ei ole vielä pelannut.
> Is that really the issue?
Well, yea.
Because if RPGs is the issue, we have short time investment games that people also aren't buying. I mentioned Thomas Was Alone earlier for 20 cents. It's a platformer.
There's also Monument Valley at $3.99. Puzzle game. Well reviewed. Doesn't even come close to the freemium games.
God, my favorite game is Monument Valley, but it's just so gosh-dang short. I really wish they made more chapters, but it's a game that is truly quality-over-quantity, which is refreshing to see in the mobile-gaming market.
That is Ida the main character in Monument Valley. Great little puzzle game.
If you have an Android phone, I believe Monument Valley is free at the moment. Not sure about the iOS version.
It's beautiful. You wander through some funky locations, navigating around levels that can twist and turn in impossible ways, and you manipulate them to reach your location. It's not the hardest game in the world, and you'll have it beat in a matter of hours, but it's well worth the experience.
Monument Valley 1 and 2.
They're really interesting 3D puzzle games where you rotate stuff to solve the puzzles.
They're not long, but not super short. You can finish them in a day

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustwo.monumentvalley2&hl=en_CA&gl=US
(they're both on Google Play Pass so get the month trial and play them for free)
If you haven't played Monument Valley you absolutely need to. It's a forced perspective puzzle game where you guide a princess through a M.C. Escher painting. It saves automatically so you can play for a few minutes and then come back right where you left off later.
Monument Valley is a good mindbender, although it's mainly MC Escher style puzzles which are not that hard once you wrap your brain around them.
The Room series was very good, but if you found the third one easy, the other two are most likely not what you are looking for.
These are lovely.
If this "dreamlike architectural" style appeals to you, you might like the game Monument Valley. This art strongly reminds me of the art in the game, which is kind of a problem solver but the art and design of the game is the real focus. The Play Store description mysteriously says it's "An illusory adventure of impossible architecture and forgiveness," but anyway, I loved playing through it and you might too!
Sorcery!
On the off chance you haven't seen it, check out Monument Valley. Could give you some great inspiration! It's also for iOS.
Google Play offers refunds if you uninstall the app after a short time. I wonder how it went for Monument Valley on Android. From the reviews it seems people are quite happy with it.
There's 4 things that make good art:
As long as you become super awesome at two of the 4 above, you can overshadow (for the most part) your shortcomings in the other two.
Lighting and shaders are what made monument valley, again, for the most part. It takes zero effort to suck. It takes moderate effort to be good. It takes tremendous effort to be amazing.
Monument Valley - a platform game designed by MC Esher. Absolutely gorgeous to look at, and one to get the brain going. Spent my Google Opinion Rewards bounty on it after seeing it on House of Cards. Great for an idle moment.
Injustice: Gods Among Us - 1v1 fighting game, but with DC Comics characters.
In the games category, there are definitely 2 you should take note of!
- Monument Valley
- Townscaper

Both great games
sounds like she might enjoy Monument Valley? it's a 3d puzzle game - super artistic and beautiful (and fun)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustwo.monumentvalley
Also maybe Lara Croft GO? it's a turn based adventure game mostly about puzzles trying to go thru a cavern by avoiding obstacles, etc

Sounds like Monument Valley may be a good fit. Just went on sale for 50% off so it's $2 right now for the whole game, with no IAP except for one DLC for extra chapters.
Really nice games: Monument Valley, Another World, and another one which I can't recall. These are one of the few games I really enjoyed.
I pick Monument Valley.
It's a puzzle game with fantasy/ominous atmosphere, with great sound track and art style.
P.S. It's also on iOS. And thank you for the chance!
Squawky-bird princess puzzle game.
Otherwise known as Monument Valley.
Atmospheric music, dazzling visuals, and emotion-evoking gameplay without having to resort to gore or shock value.
Monument Valley. It is a puzzle game featuring beautiful physics defying graphics and fun puzzles. It has ha Dan IAP for an extension to the game but it seems very fair (not a "for $2 play again without waiting 24 hours kind of thing) as the expansion is a large add on to the game. It is super fun and I find myself marveling at the cool graphics and designs!

Annoying slideshow not working well on mobile, here are the mentioned games:
Monument Valley has a fantastic atmosphere. It's free from time to time in places like Amazon Underground as well.
Some of these are cheap, some aren't. They are all great. (I don't buy things I don't like.)
I've heard these are fun as well:
Deep Under the Sky, Botanicula, and Hount the House: Terrortown are also one of the games in the shiny new Humble Mobile Bundle https://www.humblebundle.com/mobile

There are a few very good paid ones, suc h as Monument Valley, and a load of indie stuff I have been playing like BARRIER X, Pixel Dungeon (and its modded versions) and Hyperflex. Those are the ones I enjoy anyway. Oh yeah and I enjoy a spot of Geometry Dash (paid version) from time to time.
Monument Valley It's a super great game.
Reminds me of the game Monument Valley. It makes me happy that a place like this exists in the real world.

Except all other suggestions and emulators like (3)DS Pokémon hacks I highly recommend the following:
Great to hear that. By the way, Monument Valley Mysteriously reappeared in the store. Both First and Second parts.
Here is the list of similar games:
EVO Explores is the game I (strangely) like even more than MV. Maybe because of this cute Cassette sidekick.
Ghosts of Memories had interesting "story" and even a boss fight in the end. Unfortunately, it was remove from Google Play for some reason.
Epic Journey is another game with some kind of a story. Plus, the levels are dangerous here - you can die and will have to restart. Unfortunately, also removed from Google Play.
Each of the other games is just a set of isometric puzzles. Odie's Dimension, Skyward, Daregon, Cubic Mazes - they do not offer anything new. Just the same gameplay cloned over and over.
If you want some cool games, that are not quite like Monument Valley, but give the same vibe, check out Alter, The Almost Gone and Where Shadows Slumber - the last has 16+ requirement and it's not a joke (you've been warned).
Hmm interesting, which one do you think monument valley uses for its characters? Monument valley: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustwo.monumentvalley

As far as city builders go, I only play Tapped Out. I tried the Family Guy version for a few weeks, but gave it up because it required too much grinding. I don't want to get caught up in another.
Games I do play:
Monument Valley - An artful puzzle game about navigating impossible architecture. Its sequel is great as well.
Limbo - A platformer with a macabre, minimalist style.
I enjoy the various pinball games from Zen Studios. Most of their tables are only available as IAPs (which are reasonably priced, aside from in Williams Pinball), but they also offer freemium apps that let you play without paying. They have around a hundred different tables, some original and others based on licenses like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, the Alien franchise, Marvel Comics, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, Skyrim, and more.
What types of games do you like?
If you like a lot of gba and ps1 games, the ports of Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton are a good place to start- better than on an emulator, but still full-fledged single player experiences.
If you want a single player experience made more specifically for mobile, Monument Valley is a great narrative puzzle game. I also really like to recommend Sword & Sworcery- it's a short adventure game with fantastic pixel art.
If you like narrative, Lifeline does a good job of taking advantage of it's platform, so much so that I don't think it could be in anything except phone.

Right, how about Monument Valley, Superbrothers Sword & Sorcery, Desert Golfing, and possibly Alien: Blackout then?
There are tons of good mobile games. They're admittedly overshadowed by shitty free-to-play cash grabs and shovelware, but they still exist. Sure some of them are based on existing PC/console titles but are still distinctly mobile games. And very much real.
