Meh, don't use IFTTT. Just use the Asia AQI widget app and look in the settings. There's an option to push you a notification every time the AQI in your location goes above a certain level, which you can set.
I mean, you could use a IFTTT recipe, but it's a bit pointless when that widget has the option to do that. No need for persistent notification, just set the threshold in the settings.
acqni also has a droid app with a single, clear widget that you can set to a station near you and view the air qual. Been watching that shit like a hawk the past fortnight.
AQI index android app. I like it.

Air Quality: Real time AQI Link Official site
Shows the air quality in your area in Korea and many other countries all over the world. It uses the data from local stations and shows you the levels of whatever the station reads: usually PM2.5, PM10, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and even temperature, wind speed, and humidity. There are hundreds of stations available in Korea and there will likely be one pretty close to you. For Android you can put a widget on your home screen for your local station so that it always shows what the air quality is like. Korean needed: none.
Ultrafine Particles Forecaster (초 미세먼지 예보 (PM2.5)) Link
Another app for air quality but it only shows PM2.5 information. It uses satellite data to track PM2.5 levels and also predicts levels 2 days into the future so you can know how bad the air quality may be. Korean required: none.
KOREA FM Radio (한국 FM 라디오 - 국내 FM 인터넷 무료라디오) Link
App that lets you listen to radio stations in Korea. It gives you filters that lets you find stations by broadcast company, region of Korea, and genre. Korean needed: some to use, a lot listen.
I have been using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.insdio.aqicn.airwidget.Asia
Picks up data from local air monitoring stations.
Where are you in the world?
I've been very happy with this:

I use this one. It has a simple widget and can alert you when the quality passes a certain threshold.
