I don't know if all of these will work for your phone, here's all the games currently installed on mine!
The controls are intuitive and designed for touchscreens, not trying to be a tacked on controlpad.. * BB Racing I've tried the Sonic racing games and various others. The controls of this game are excellent. The f2p nature is a tad annoying but nothing as bad as the Angry Birds racing game. The racing itself is like a difficult, more arcadey Mario Kart.. * Beast Towers I haven't played this one yet.. * Callys Caves 3 Super fun! Pretty damn great pixel art aesthetics. The controls are a little loose but after the first level you should adjust.
There are a LOT of ads, and I am eagerly awaiting an update to fix the iap to disable ads. Really this is a premium game, but devs don't trust Android users to buy premium (sadly the data backs them up).. * Cosmonautica I haven't played this one yet, but it looks fun.. * Doombad This game is highly enjoyable. It's a tower defense game but more of a lane defense a la Plants VS Zombies, but it's actually very close to an old NES Home Alone game. You set up items for each level of rooms and try to stop your princess you kidnapped from being rescued.
buy the premium version.. * Dragon Fantasy I picked this up on sale and no regrets. I don't usually like turn based rpgs or being randomly attacked in the overworld like in Final Fantasy 3 or Zelda 2, but the production value here is pretty good.
Tongue in cheek storyline, choose between 8 bit and 16 bit graphics and decent but not stellar controls. I prefer an invisible move finger anywhere joystick, which this has, but I find myself preferring the on-screen oversized NES buttons.. * Expedition Very short but engaging story and puzzle platform gameplay.. * Gemini Rue I haven't played this one yet.. * Grim If you ever played it when it was new, you should be excited it's on mobile! if you never played, here's your chance to experience one of the great LucasArts games that's not Monkey based. Controls aren't great, very engaging story and dialogue trees.. * LIMBO I've played this on Steam and grabbed it on release for mobile. Beautiful, the first (or at least first to popularise) an artistic black and white aesthetic.
no visible on screen controls. Left side is your movement and interaction and right side is jump.. * Mage Gauntlet A modern SNES game (think Secret of Mana and Link to The Past) with a fun, interesting but not epic story. Great control mechanic with the pro swipe option. This game almost has too many secrets, great for 100%ers.. * Merchant My fiance has gotten a lot of gameplay out of this. It's not my sort of game but it's on here cos her phone died.
You are an RPG merchant and through menu screens and dialogue screens you outfit heroes to save the world.. * Mini Dash A love letter to your childhood platformers. Crazy frenetic controls. you will die a lot but this isn't like Flappy Bird, this is like you're 7 years old and trying to master Sonic or make that 2 px column jump in Mario 8-1.
There's a great tone to this game. The atmosphere is fun and playful. lots of unlockables and lots of items to collect.. * Pixel Heroes Another game where the fun and quality is enough for me to enjoy a genre I normally don't: roguelikes.
It's brutal. I haven't beaten more than 2 dungeons before losing my party. There's a trend here of tongue in cheek stories (a trend or my selection bias?). The controls are simple. It's not an autorunner but once you leave the town hub, you can't go backwards. Fighting is turn based. I found the inventory menu cluttered at first blush.. * République Haven't played much but fantastic graphics and intuitive stealth controls. Story is big brothery or the intro part of Half Life 2.. * SB Deluxe Stealth platforming! Frenetic gameplay, surprisingly good mobile controls. Story unfolds as you progress. This can be found on the humble bundle store, not in the Playstore. 10$ but you get a steam key as well. . * Shufflepuck Amazing gameplay, very fun and natural air hockey mechanics. Good graphics set in a G rated Eis Mosley type bar. 2 player same screen gameplay included!. * SwapQuest Interesting take on an RPG puzzle. It's like a free form tile puzzle (the ones where you have to swap tiles to make a picture?) Cute graphics. High production values and little details in this game.. * Table Tennis Haven't played this one yet.. * Terraria The ultimate mining game (besides Minecraft, and I'm just not a fan of MC)!
Controller support if that's your thing, and hours of content. Mine with a reason! Build a base for various characters, discover new elements to unlock recipies for new furniture, building materials and weapons! Has local WiFi multiplayer. It has most of the content up to 1.2 and an update with mine carts and fishing is in the works. Only local WiFi co op, perfect for me and my fiance.. * Tiny Thief So fucking cute! A superb slide and tap adventure with a completely wordless but adorable story that will make you, at the very least, smile. It totally sucks that they went from premium to pay per episode, but if money isn't an issue (Google Opinion Rewards) it's all worth it.. * Wayward Souls The original roguelike that held my attention (helps that it's realtime action and not turn based). My benchmark for mobile controls, but also supports controlpads.
Set in the same universe as Mage Gauntlet, awesome SNES 16 bit graphics.. * Ys Chronicles 1 I haven't played this one yet..
Amoebattle is an excellent realtime strategy game, and it costs only $0.99 without any other in-app purchases!
