I have a Oneplus One, there are so many good apps out there so you'd probably need to be more specific (like what kind of apps do you need/want)! There's always a lot of threads on /r/android or /r/androidapps about this though. I guess I'd recommend Nova Launcher, Greenify, MX Player, Atarashii! BETA, and Reddit Sync (now called Sync for Reddit). I know about Slide for Reddit and it looks awesome since it really follows Material Design, but Reddit Sync still seems to have the most convenient ways to use Reddit on an Android phone.
Yeah, /u/AlurkingBear Atarashii has the best mobile interface for managing your MAL! If you plan to use it you should use the beta though, it's always stable and sometimes even more stable than the normal version.
I haven't used Pocket MAL but Atarashii!! has covers listing for the anime which I like and a dark theme. Quick to sync, update anime/manga and you can view other profiles, and read MAL forums.
I recommend using the beta version of Atarashii! I think it's the best mobile MAL manager due to the way it works. The design is more intuitive and it's really simple to increase the amount of episodes that you've watched for a series that you're currently watching.
> Question, how does it detect the files? Is it checking certain string on the file names or something else?
Set folders for it to search. As for specific shows, it'll look for the strings of the title or alternative titles. Like here I set an alt title to Zeta Gundam, since the files are called Zeta_Gundam and it found them with a quick scan.
> Also, how easy it is to update/edit the watched episode manually? I used 2 different computer and 1 android device to watch anime.
Very easily, just a simple +/- mark when you hover over the bars in the image of my original post.
You can sync between computers really easily, it doesn't do it automatically between clients, but there's a sync button in the main window that'll retrieve the latest from MAL. I do this for my laptop/desktop too.
For Android I use Atarashii!! Beta which is pretty easy to update and sync too.
Lately I have mainly been using Atarashii! instead, since I prefer the way it display the information better.
