Ayat is a very great Quran App, it includes many tafsirs and many other features. Check it here:

Ayat al Quran on android is really good but I'm not too sure if it's on apple. It has an an easy to understand English translation. Also, if you highlight an ayah the reciter of your choice will read it. There are also options to bookmark verses. If you understand arabic, there are many tafaseer to pick from. It has everything in one place really.

Great initiative, interested in contributing. Do you have a reference that backs up your claim that Ayat is "deprecated"? I can see their last update was in March 2018 on the Play Store, but anything to indicate there isn't a big update forthcoming?
I strongly recommend Ayat. They have a web version (currently on mobile; will update with link), a downloadable desktop program as well as a mobile app. They even have a Chrome app/extension in the Chrome webstore, I believe!
It allows you to do exactly what you stated, and much more! It's what I, and most everyone I know, uses to memorize on their computers and phones.
AtTabari. Can access it on this android Quran app (among other features)... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sa.edu.ksu.Ayat
