happy to help
visitor parking- there are several options. IMO the easiest/best place would be , i'd go parking by Coaches xXx smoke house downtown. at the corner of Austin and 3rd they have a shuttle system that is shockingly efficient. i used to pay to park on campus, but stopped because this was faster. parking DT is pretty easy, most the lots are free, its easy to follow the crowd.
tailgates have a dedicated section.
btw one cool unique thing about our stadium is we have pretty good wifi and with the baylor app you can get live camera feeds from all the cameras in the satdium. the place is so small and the views so good i've never really used it much, but its a pretty cool thing to mess around with.
hope you have fun at the game! highly suggest going to Don Carlos after the game, its on the way back to austin and far enough from the stadium that you get seated quickly. also they have plenty of TVs to catch the rest of the games.
hey Elj... thanks for reaching out to this sub! generally I would expect a very friendly crowd. hopefully you get a variety of feedback here, but we are small sub. always a toss up the amount of replies something gets.
personally if I were in your position I would consider coming early and going to the farmers market. I live in Austin (i assume that is where you are coming from) and this farmers market is way better than anything i've found in austin, also, waco prices!.
shuttles run from downtown the pickup is .7 miles from the farmers market I will say i've never used this service, but i have used the other shuttles. i dont expect you to have issues.
oh! dont forget, we have a Baylor ingame app for android and apple. its a very cool program, idk how techy you are, but if you would like you can bring a tablet and get a live video feed from any of the cameras in the stadium and run it all over our free wifi. I expect you will not end up using the camera feeds, the stadium is so small there really is not a bad seat in the house. also, as you hinted at, this game may be a blowout. i've used the wifi to stream other games before. just a thought. general speed in the stadium is 10-20mbs down. plenty for streaming. (i've heard its quality based on your location in the stadium varies a bit).
in my opinion the concessions are awful. Stadiums take several years to really mature their concession processes (UH's stadium is even worse, never eat in that stadium).the quality of the food isnt necessarily bad, its just a customer per min efficiency issue.
after game eats, Don carlos, especially if you are going back to Austin use google maps, traffic is a bit hairy after a game. Don Carlos is not the best place, it is not a Baylor oriented place, BUT it is the place with the least wait and consistent food and good booze. if you are looking to save money, the Monterrey is an off menu item that is basically a TON of food for like 8-9 bucks. other people will suggest George's or Shortys pizza... which are cool places.. but if your goal is to eat food and get served quickly, go with Don Carlos.
if you would like to spend a little more time in waco, cameron park zoo is fantastic, really, the only better zoo in Texas is the Ft worth zoo. if you were to head there after the game i would send you to this place. quick, cheap and delicious. get their burritos, they're like 4-5 bucks, not greasy and consistently good. waco has some good places, but most of them are packed.
please let me know if i can offer any more information, i hope you have a great time! oh yea, use google maps and live traffic/waze on the way from Austin to waco. that highway is under construction and awful! several times there was a wreck ahead and google saved me from potentially hours of standstill traffic. Dallas to waco is better, but right now Austin to waco is terrible.
