I'm not sure if it still works on current Android versions, but Beat Hazard is a twin-stick shooter like Geometry Wars that uses your music and even generates levels based on the music you select.
i believe groove coaster used local songs. might be wrong. been a while since i played it
but beat hazard (just linked the first one, but both do) definitely works with your local songs.
also, it's a bit of a stretch on the "local songs", as you have to download the beatmaps first, but osu! lazer, which as you can see from the link you have to pull from their github, allows you to use virtually any song you might want (and don't worry, it has an in-app browser to get the beatmaps, unlike its desktop version unless you pay)
Could it be Beat Hazard?
Might also be Geometry Wars 3, which unfortunately got removed from the play store. There's still ways of getting it tho.
Hot diggity daffodils! It does exist!
Nobody mentioned Beat Hazard Ultra? SMH.
Beat Hazard Ultra once is my favorite rhythm game. It has Windows version https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coldbeamgames.beathazardultragooglefull
Ah, I'll check it out, but I guess I missed the disconnect between mobile and desktop. I'd like an android version. Thank you though!

edit2: still looks neat, but completely different game type. I want to race to my music.
edit3: Going to check these two out
There's Beat Hazard, you can use your own music and fight asteroids and bosses
