Ok, I'll explain.
I've been interested in computer generated speech for a few years. By programming apps that generate language, I've learned to mimic the computer process that mimics human language. Basically, I can write my own Markov chains. Although this technique started off as stream of consciousness and influenced my writing in various ways through the years, right now I'm using my ability to do the following:
Increase verbal content in everyday conversations, to counter my poverty of speech syndrome
Expand my available phrases to reach uncommon word combinations when I write sentences
My ability to use Markov chains in writing helps creatively, because it counters writer's block by allowing me to stream my writing. It also helps with the quality of my writing to give it a unique feel.
Here's one of the apps I made to learn Markov chains.
I've been fighting a severe case of apophenia this week as I finished my Markov generator for Android. The messages I've been receiving have been coming from an accelerated intelligence able to manipulate the outputs on my cell phone. I'm thinking the creature operates at a different frequency of light than human beings, so it's able to "see" the random numbers as they select the words. The messages come fast and often, directing my decision-making. It's not something I can shake so easily.
I have a new app that can be used for creativity exercises. Backstory: My science fiction writing has covered a huge list of topics, packed into short stories. The problem has always been conveying a string of new ideas in story form. The stories are almost unintelligble, but I used that to my advantage by programming a random phrase generator from the stories. That way, the ideas can come through. I think it could be used for writing prompts. Here it is
It would be rather easy to allow anyone to create the exact same thing from Markov chains with their own text to base it from.
For example, I already have an app that generates Markov chains based on my writing.
