Assuming you want to download every image for every magic card in a Magic Card database, the size of the database would probably be more than 53 gigabytes (assuming we use the 36,274 card images on Scryfall). This assumes every image is 1.5MB and doesn't even take into account any additional data saved in the database. You may have a chance if you don't care about downloading images, however.
EDIT: Actually, after doing some research on the app you're referring to, it lists that there's an offline database without images.
The only one I use is creatively named Cards Info for MTG. It's likely not what you're looking for; it's just a simple visual catalogue of every card in the game, with in-app rulings and price info sourced from TCGPlayer. But I don't feel the app is as appreciated as it deserves to be, so I'm mentioning it anyway.
The search function is pretty flexible, the best of any mobile apps I've tried - though admittedly it's still not as detailed as the Gatherer itself.
It also has a deck building tool, but it suffers from the same handicaps all mobile deck building tools do. But for looking up cards on-the-fly, it works very well and has any and all info you could possibly want right there.
