I prefer Collateral for notification pins. It allows you to choose from more icons and colors, and also lets you set future reminders that pop up as notifications.
Collateral is my new favorite thing. You create your own notifications in your status bar for whatever you want. This has helped me a lot with remembering to do things I'd otherwise forget when I'd just put it in my calendar.
Reminder is definitely not the only app like that. Collateral had more customization options, you can pick the icon and color and it pops up in your notification area. With sound/without, sticky/not sticky, same repeats as Reminders.
For anyone that wants to try this with an android phone, there's an app called Collateral that lets you make a custom notification so you don't have to actually remember to do the check.
Don't know what you're looking for, but Collateral sticks notes/lists in your notification bar. Lots of options and customizations.
I tried Memo Reminders after it was featured in xda; to compare it with Collateral (which I'm currently using). Found it promising, but Collateral is better right now.
Your app is a great first app. Seriously. Give yourself a pat on the back. It seems fairly well thought through and well implemented too.
Side note: There is an app titled "Collateral" [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gpvargas.collateral] that seems to do what you set out to achieve. Maybe you could seek inspiration from their implementation too?
Try Collateral
I use the app Collateral for this. It has more features like setting notification priority, adding actions, and also setting reminders.
I'm sure you'll be developing this app further.

I've tried GTasks and TickTick, but I think that Collateral and the other Tasks works as well, and is open source, fwiw.
The downside of Collateral is the lack of sync, but it's nice in keeping your notifications at the top.
Google Keep is neat, as /u/elementsofevan pointed out, it has OCR recognition, export to Google Docs, and Doodling that's exportable.
Looks good. Any plans of making the notifications persistent / sticky? I'm currently using Collateral and have also paid for that; so wondering whether this app has anything extra.
Perhaps this one, Someone talked about it here and I decided to give it a try, It might not be the one you've used but has the same function you're looking for.

The Pro version of Collateral has this feature.
The app hasn't been updated since February 2019 though, if that matters to you. I still use the free version for persistent reminders in the status/notification bar.
Collateral for the notification bar. Stuff for widget.

Not sure about the reminder features but Collateral has permanent/locked notifications (can't accidentally swipe it away) and you can set the priority, customize icon & color and also create lists inside the notification.

I'm in love with Collateral. It lets you pin notes to your notification drawer and even give them actions.

Seems like a less feature-rich version of Collateral
I have a few.
Collateral - The typical reminder apps aren't useful for me. I swipe away the reminder notification and I might not remember it later. But via Collateral, I can set a reminder that will generate persistent notification at set time; so that I see it every time I pull down the notification shade.
Text Aide - Google Keyboard's text shortcut stopped working since Lollipop. TextAide came to rescue. And it does so much more.
Honorable mention - Redirect File Organizer.
Check out Collateral
Do you mean existing notifications from other apps? Or create your own and pin that? For the latter, I love Collateral.
Collateral - Solid notation and reminder app.
K-@ Mail Pro - This is a great email app. It's like K-9 but with a much improved interface.
Manual Camera - One of the best Camera apps I've found. Even has a solid tutorial to help you get used to the use of manual controls.
Metal - Slick wrapper with Material Design for Facebook. Even has a inbuilt notifications system.
spaRSS - Flym RSS reader reborn.
Tiny Guardians - Tower Defense where you're the tower. Definitely a fun game if you give it a shot.
Crowntakers - Tactics rougelike RPG with a rather humorous storyline.
