I too was trying to make such a thing. Might be interested
Prior art: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a30corner.combomaster&hl=en You can put together a team with any monster on JP (approximately, there's some lag in updates relative to JP but not nearly as bad as NA) and run arena 1 or 2, all the machine gods, SUDR, Noah Gaia and Zeus dragon, some others, NOT arena 3 or ultimate coliseum or roguelikes (yet?).
How does you plan to be sufficiently different/superior to Combo Master that it's worth the effort of making this thing?
FYI there are apps for this on PC, Android, and IOS
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a30corner.combomaster&hl=en
idk the one for IOS
its Combo Master https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a30corner.combomaster
You can use it to practice orb movement, but I would just use it to calculate spike damage. I actually forgot what it was called and found a comment I made about it in a thread about padspike (https://www.reddit.com/r/PuzzleAndDragons/comments/2jytse/padspike_a_new_tool_for_pad/)
That may work for you as well since it relies on padherder and I don't have an Urd on my NA account
Download Combo Master or Pad Prax to practice the patterns. Alternatively, you can practice within the ranking dungeon by solving the board then destroying the combos you made. The enemies will continue making the same board.

If you're on Android, you can also try Combo Master, which lets you practice both the solving aspect as well as the actual physical skill of manipulating orbs.
If you have enough paimons you can just tank kali's first hit :^)
I've played with a theoretical 3 paimon 1 kanna team in Combo Master https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a30corner.combomaster&hl=en and it works pretty well, you can inherit saria/lakechis and never pop an active until kali
it's mostly just practice. learning solutions to common patterns to a point where you don't even have to think about it helps too
try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a30corner.combomaster&hl=en and turn the time limit off - i find a lack of time limit helps a lot in figuring out how to do stuff.
get used to the feel of moving orbs around and play with some patterns
as you get better you'll be able to do two things: a) see combos and solutions ahead of time, b) even if you can't see full solutions you'll be able to move colours into the right approximate area and match on the fly, and best of all c) reduce or completely avoid the pause between each match you make
There are some tools. A popular one is pad spike. I don't use that one but instead opt for the combo master app (exists for android, but I don't know if there is an ios version).
It is a bit confusing to set up at first, but it is a great way to check damage outputs with certain boards.
A general rule of thumb though, rows are not worth going for until you hit 6 row awakenings. That is because of the way the math works, parsing six orbs into two combos does more damage, and the row will not overcome the extra combo damage until you have over six row awakenings when matching a single row.
L/L Izanagi needs a sparkle match anyways, so prioritize the 5-match, and then go for TPA. Because he needs sparkles, stacking light OEA is a good idea.
As for team building, drop Antares and go for Valkyrie or Verche. I recommend Valk since she is getting another Uevo soon that is really strong.
