I tend to use HotS Complete app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor - nice and clean interface that's constantly getting new features updated, and it pulls its pick% and win% from hotslogs too, if you still like its data without the intrusive ads
You can free your camera by pressing L ingame, I recommend to play with free camera so you can check anywhere in the map and yes, some abilities have global or nearly global range.
Don't have too much advice on particular heroes, I'd personally keep leveling the free rotation up to 5 to beging knowing each one and earn some good gold.
Regarding maps you can check them here: http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/battlegrounds/
I personally use this phone app that works pretty well and has plenty of information on maps and also heroes winrates talents and builds: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor&hl=en
There is a popular Android app called Complete HOTS that has a lot of features and ties into Hotslogs. Without an API from Blizzard there's only so much you can do.
Download HOTScomplete https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor&hl=en_US for your phone. It's the best resource out there for base stats and builds on the fly.
If you are going to get into as well there is a great app available for your cell phone. It comes in handy if you don't have dual monitors but want to look at builds while in game. There are a lot of other great features as well. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor&hl=en
HotS Complete is my go-to. It doesn't really cover tournaments, but it's got the rest of what you asked for.
You definitely DO NOT need to literally memorize talent trees, as long as you just know what you can DO with the hero. When it comes to talent trees, it's easy enough to grab apps like this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor&hl=en
This is a great tool to use if you're having trouble remembering. I for one can never memorize talent trees, in anything. My brain just doesn't do it. So I find this very helpful when I am returning to a hero I haven't played in a while.
Plus, talents and talent trees change. It is most beneficial to know what purposes the character serves, and then to stay knowledgable of any changes that happen to the character. Like when they made major Diablo changes recently, I didn't instantly go and memorize all of the talents, because I wasn't playing as him. But I DID go in and... read over the changes, understand how Diablo could be built now, think about ways he could be countered, etc.
TL;DR: Memorizing talents isn't nearly as important as understand how a hero plays and what role(s) they fulfill. There are tools you can use to help with talent builds and build planning so that they are easily accessible for you.
Some mobile apps show the scaling too: Complete HOTS and HOTS Companion. HOTS Companion shows the scaling on the talents as well and not just the ability/base stats. Though not all of them may be correct: I'm pretty sure Infernal Globe doesn't deal 623 damage at level 20, so 16% scaling might be a bit off.
Yes the heroesprofile drafter kind of takes too long to be useful, as far as other options you could try the mobile app Complete Hots.
Honestly I recommend you just spend some time making an excel sheet with your top 3-5 played heroes with highest winrates. Then list out their top counters, who they counter, and who they duo with. That's all the info you really need, and you'll play better on a hero you are comfortable with than the "perfect draft" hero.
complete HOtS my way to go app, realy usefull for take a look at any hero talents and numbers (dont count much at winrate stats, but anyway). And I strongly recommend NotParadox channel for good macro guides, this man realy smart and explane everything.
One thing you could also probably benefit from greatly is to get the Complete HotS App made by Holender from googleplay or itunes if you haven't heard of it yet.
It's an app designed to give you a lot of information, Heroes, maps, even a drafting simulator is built into it to give you ideas for whatever map you happen to be playing.
It's a fantastic app for this game, I love having it to look at hero talents and builds for heroes I don't even own just so I can see what they are like as just one example.
It even has a section to make your own talent builds in the heroes section to go along with the meta builds just so you can experiment to see what works better for you.

If you are also interested (on top of the other replies have mentioned) there are also a couple of apps on the Play store that can help (I'm sure there are others as well):
If you have no idea at all and want to learn it by playing instead of watching esports I can recommend the "Hots Complete" app for android. It has a build in draft helper and is overall a useful tool.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor&hl=en
edit: also start with unranked draft maybe, to get a feel for drafting and when to draft what. Use the App ass a guideline but not as the one and only picks.
There's two Android apps in case anyone is interested in the links:
Complete HotS = 4.7/5
HotS Helper = 4.6/5
I can recommend you the android app hots complete. I found it in /r/heroesofthestorm and love it ever since. It also has a draft helper, you need to practice a bit to click the heroes fast enought but it helped me a lot.

This is super handy to use if you want to have a resource open while you are playing:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor&hl=en
Even though I play a TON I'm not great at remembering builds, especially of heroes I don't play as often, so having something like this is really convenient for me.

Welcome to the Nexus!
What I'm hearing from you is that you feel lost in HotS because you're unfamiliar with the majority of the heroes and would like to climb the learning curve quickly. I felt overwhelmed when I started playing Dota 2 and really wanted to learn everything, so I can relate.
Here are a few resources for you:
The Gamepedia Wiki is a great site to have open on another screen as it quickly provides all the information you're looking for such as abilities, cooldowns, talents, attack range, health regen, mana regen, etc.
There are several apps on both Android and iOS you can use such as Companion.gg and HotS Complete that can be great options to have on-hand
If you have a bit more time to do some learnin' you can use Icy Veins to read guides and get an idea of how each hero plays
Heroes Fire has a fantastic talent calculator that has a slider on it so you can see how the stats scale with each level
If you really want to get down and dirty with stats, you can take a look at this spreadsheet a community member made
The in-game try mode is a really great option to mess around with each hero and get a feel for them. Blizz has done a good job improving it with options for scaling, completion of quests, and customizing both ally and enemy heroes. Also, you can press 'C' to pull up the detailed stats window in the lower-left corner (this window is not exclusive to try-mode).
Additonally, there's a slew of wonderful resources available from content creators on YouTube and Twitch. One of my personal favorites for learning the game is /u/CavalierGuest as he has some really good written guides for tanking, drafting, etc.
Your complaint about the in-game learning process is valid. It has been improved via better try-mode options, tutorials, and the introduction of the dev-mode version of Cursed Hollow (available in custom games), but still there could be more done in the way of instruction and ease of access to information like you mention. For now I'd say check out the resources mentioned above and give each hero at least a cursory run-through in try-mode to get a feel for them.
Good luck!
check out hots complete
Complete hots is the best imo.
I haven't tried this one yet, but I've used HotS Complete for quite some time and it works pretty well.
There's also an android hots companion style app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.production.holender.hotsrealtimeadvisor
This is the only HotS mobile App I need
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hots-complete-heroes-app/id1265870687?mt=8
:)
Now HotS on my Switch, I could probably handle that if the controls were decent and it supported Cross-play :)
Still recommend Hots Complete. :)

I did something similar at one time - http://i.imgur.com/zh9QA0S.png
Do you have a mobile phone? If so, get the app HotS Complete. It allows you to store custom builds per hero, also links to HotsLogs to help you identify which heroes are strong on certain maps and synergize well.

I don't know how it compares, but seems alright. Very spammy with ads though.
