Hi, I’m on your same boat trying to lose weight for an upcoming trip to Central America (Guatemala!). I recently read Dr. Greger’s latest book “How Not to Die” and found the “Daily Dozen” chapter especially helpful in creating practical meals that incorporate all of these foods. Like you, I don’t count calories so instead I downloaded this Daily Dozen app and I simply focus on maximizing my nutrition daily by following Dr. Greger’s recommendations. I try to use very little oil and I am only eating nuts a few days a week (he recommends a serving per day). It’s very hard for me to measure/record things so that’s why I really like the freedom of just worrying about hitting all these foods on a daily basis.
