I am Dr. Gloria Wu and I developed three apps for Google play. These apps are free, addresses the need of diabetic patients who may eat fast food ("Diabetes and Fast Food"), Asian fast food ("Asian Diet Watch") and for our South Asian patients ("South Asian Diet Watch"). Our apps were selected by the Endocrine Society for two years in a row for Health Disparities and Minority Health. This topic of Asian fast food is of global concern since the World Health Organization deems Diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in the world by 2030. It affects 96 million in China, 27 million in India and 23 million in US. Furthermore, over a third of the population in the US has pre-diabetes.
I am an Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and adjunct clinical faculty at UC San Francisco School of Medicine. I am a published author of three textbooks, one of them is "Diabetic Retinopathy."
These are the links below
They are specifically made by a physician for patients. They tell the patients about BMI, body mass index, calories for the foods and glycemic index (not done in apps that I have reviewed).
We are presenting our apps at the Endocrine Society meeting on March 6. Currently "South Asian Diet watch" has only 27 downloads.
We would like more traffic.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely yours,
Gloria Wu
