This one does. You can even take a photo of the puzzle and the app will detect the numbers for you.

Surely you didn't try Enjoy Sudoku then? :)
Also has a free version.
Great board visibilty, step-by-step tutorials, massive difficulty range, examples of techniques, hints explaining techinques used , time spent solving compared with previous solvers, statistics and more!
My favorite is probably Enjoy Sudoku. I've probably tried dozens of them, and it always comes out on top. The interactive tutorials were what helped me learn several of the advanced techniques needed for difficult puzzles, too.
Edit: Linked.
Enjoy Sudoku by Jason Linhart is by far my favorite sudoku app. Great interface and I love the ability to select a particular number and then every cell I tap is filled in with that number (or pencil number). The hints are great. The teaching of what the next move to make is absolutely amazing. I enjoy seeing my time compared to others. Lots of difficulty levels. If I remember correctly there's a free and paid version. I have the paid, so I'm not entirely sure what the free version is missing, but that app is the best app purchase I've ever made.
Discussion: Is this from Stefan Heines Magazine? I find those with difficulty 9 and above pretty challenging as well. What really helps me improve is this app: it allows you to import Sudokus and explains you the next logical step.

I see, thank you. I'm always on the lookout for beautiful sudoku apps so that's one going on my list.
You mentioned better highlighting in another comment, maybe you can try this one.

It's not the best looking app, but it's packed to the brim with features. It has autofill and better highlighting, and the best part is its step by step hint system. There's a free version you can try to get a feel for it.

This app walks you through the steps needed to finish any puzzle. There’s like 14 levels of difficulty you can choose from that helps you progressively get better. It’s by far the best app out there.

That’s the android version. If you’re on PC look for HoDoKu.
This is the android version of the iOS app I use that does all that, there should also be a free version.

Enjoy Sudoku on Android from the same developer.
My most used app on android by an order of magnitude.
I've yet to find anything better than Enjoy Sudoku. I strongly recommend it any time someone asks this question.

This would be the best app but unfortunately it’s not free either https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.enjoysudoku.enjoysudoku
Enjoy Sudoku for iPhone has coloring, I'm using it. The android version also claims it has coloring so I expect it does. The paid Android app ($2.99), and the free app.
X-wings are indeed very simple. Hidden triples can be a bit tougher, but you'll get used to them. As I mentioned, it may be easier to see the naked quad. What I do is to look at the cells in the region with a few candidates and say the names of the candidates, and then see if there is another cell with those candidates, or maybe I need to add a number to the list. I look first at the cells with the fewest candidates.
In this case, the quad isn't there until you get rid of the 3 in r6c1 from that other pointing triple. Nor is the triple there without that elimination.
So being complete with the simple stuff is crucial. The basic rule is that if there are N cells with exactly N candidates that must be in them, then no other candidates can be in those cells. If you are having trouble understanding, what's missing? There are two issues: understanding N in N. It's basic to doing sudoku in many ways. I think you understand 2 in 2, right? 3 in 3 and 4 n 4 are the same, just more cells and candidates.
Hey, what about 5 in 5? A qunt. They are quite rare, and if a quint exists, there must be a quad paired with it, and if any cells in the region are resolved, that much fewer. I.e, if there is a hidden pair, then there must be, if there are, say 7 cells left in the region, a naked qunt. Either they both are naked or one is hidden. They can't both be hidden, by definition. Fun, eh?
Or there can be multiple pairs, etc.
Don't confuse this, which is very simple, with how to find them, which can be more complicated! The secret to understanding complex logic is to look at it one step at a time, often grasping the overall "meaning" is difficult until one has much more experience. Start with small pieces and that, in fact, is how to do Sudoku. Small pieces, patiently, not one huge Aha! moment where we have the whole puzzle solved in a flash! (Unless it has been taken to that point, usually after many small steps.)
